Would it have worked as a surprise release? Yes. Should it have been a surprise release? Probably. 

But I don't want Britney accused of copying Beype by the mainstream media, because the hypocrisy would be REAL.

Nope, it would have tanked. Britney is rarely in the public's eye radar anymore. We constantly know of her whereabouts because we are fans and we check this forum. But she has distanced herself from the public's eye... No one would have known she released a surprise album, and to be frank, after Britney Jean.... Would not have been a good idea. For the next album, she could but not for Glory. I think what she's doing with this album is perfect, she is promoting while at the same keeping that feeling of mystery.

It might have for FF. It probably would have done Circus numbers. We are coming from a flop era and Britney isn't in the spotlight. It would never have worked for her
