Britney is killing Britney Spears - on purpose?

I truly believe Britney is doing this deliberately. She is ruining the carefully curated pop star imagine she was famous for - and I believe it’s helping her to realise her future path and deal with the trauma that was inflicted upon her in pursuit of her career.

Any time in the past that she has been able to, she has tried to break away from the version of her that we all claim to be Britney Spears.

She has been a rebel all her life. 2004 - getting married to Jason for 54 hours. Without her family intervention, she has always been this way.

Any time she has exercised her right to be independent, she has tried to mur*** her pop star persona. The Blackout era, the black hair, the nights driving chasing paparazzi - all of it such a far cry from the record label Britney Spears. Her true self lost somewhere between our version of her, controlled and perfected, and a version a million miles away. Anyone watched Chaotic?

Slowly but surely she is digging the knife into Britney Spears. Her instagram is proof of it. The rawness in her posts, the anger, the fashion, the nudity, the vulgarity- all designed to kill the woman her family created for us.

Is this something we need to come to terms with? Is the Britney we knew dead forever; because Britney doesn’t ever want to resurrect her?

The M&Ms HOB residency - such a far cry from her previous endeavour of the Onyx Hotel tour. So many examples of Britney trying to be anything but Britney.

I am torn between accepting this, and accepting that maybe there is a mental health issue at play. Maybe there is both, definitely its none of my business. Britney’s pattern has always been that whenever there is an opportunity to break away from ‘Britney Spears’, she takes it - and runs! This kinda takes guts, and strength. I’m rooting for her always, but I would love for her to channel this creatively. An album narrative of destroying her legacy would be pretty incredible - particularly if she is doing this on purpose.

She has been trying to do it since 2006, almost succeeded then c-ship happened. I believe yes, she is killing her brand on purpose… ultimately, it doesn’t matter, she will always be famous and and A list celebrity , I don’t know what she needs to do for that to change.

But this isn’t self destruction. It’s image destruction. Britney has said in the past when she’s on stage she’s like “playing a character it’s not really me”. She doesn’t want the world to see her as Britney she’s trying to piss off someone her family and hollywierd. I do agree it makes her look bad but Britney has multi billions. She dancing naked In her MANSION! Taking trips to islands whenever, and riding horses and being carefree. Her life is a flex in many ways. She is that ***** and she knows it! Everyone wanted a piece of her! Literally! That’s has to give you a confidence boost! He endured and survived and lived to tell her story many in Hollywood don’t!

she deserves more respect!

It’s both. destroying familial relationships crazy love relationships substance abuse not showing up for work not taking care of hygiene not showing up for yourself is all self destruction. Problems with own children. Like it’s not just the career she’s hurting herself

So you're telling me she publicly humiliates herself every day on purpose? If her goal is to destroy her pop star image, wouldn't it be more practical to simply disappear from social media and lead a simple life, away from the spotlight, like a normal person? Several artists did this and did well. Exposing herself on the internet the way she does, making herself a joke and giving reasons to be called crazy may even destroy her legacy, but the consequences go far beyond that. I think this is one of the several excuses that delulu fans create every day to justify the fact that she continues to exhibit the same bizarre behavior from her c-ship days. They prefer to believe in crazy ideas than accept that the woman is not well and is screaming for help.

You’re so late. She’s been doing this throughout her career. The major one being during the Britney era because of how big she was and she tried to do it again with Blackout. Now that she’s free she’s trying to do it again.

Would that not keep the image and the memory alive though? The public self sabotage feels purposeful in a way - maybe it’s a way to heal?

She seems SO adamant to prove this point to herself and the world. I wonder why she feels Britney has to be killed so dramatically and buried so publicly? Maybe it’s her way of controlling a narrative that has for so many years been controlled for her?

And there's more: if it were really her objective to destroy her legacy, it doesn't make sense to continue launching products that bear her name: books, songs, biopics, musicals, among other things that keep the brand alive.

if true, she should realize she can pilot the vehicle and make alterations at whim. it is hers to do with what she pleases. if she is destroying it deliberately, she should realize the power she wields. she can shape the world for the better with her platform.

Other than the book, I don’t think any of these products have her true backing. And the book did many things to try and kill the brand -  revealing the abor**on for starters, and speaking her truth about what happened in the facility. Of course ultimately the brand sells hence the publishers watered down some of the drama.

The funny thing is… if she just stopped posting on Insta and found a tiny village in Ireland to hide out in… people would eventually forget about her.

I see what you're saying and maybe what she is doing right now is partially a conscious decision of hers or at least she's justifying it to herself that way, but shouldn't she also - in her right mind - avoid going down the "celebrity tragedy" path like Marilyn Monroe, Anna Nicole Smith, and the such? Whenever she's rebelled, that's the vibe she created and reinforced again in the last couple years to replace "polished pop star" and it's not all that preferable. In my opinion.

I didn't think she's doing this intentionally... I think she's just being herself. Which is how she's always been. And the public didn't like it.
