“Queer”, recorded in mid-April last year, in a film studio in Rome, Italy, will star two very talented and handsome actors: Daniel Craig (the former 007, remember, right?) and Drew Starkey (who made “Outer Banks”, Netflix). The plot is a historical romantic drama that follows the life of an American expatriate named Lee (Daniel Craig), who went to live in Mexico City in the 1940s to escape a dr*g bust in New Orleans. There, he begins to frequent the city's bars and clubs — which were, at the time, heavily frequented by expatriate North American university students, discharged soldiers and other people on the margins of society.

Lee meets and falls in love with a young man named Allerton (Drew Starkey), who is a dr*g addict and has been discharged from the Navy. He ends up giving in to Lee's charms just to see the obsessed man in him. The film is based on a book of the same name released by William S. Burroughs in 1985. It was originally written between 1951 and 1953, but reached bookstores years later. It is a sequel to his previous book, “Junkie”. There are rumors that the film will last 2h30 to 3h and will have very intense s** scenes between the protagonists. The costumes will maintain Luca's partnership with Jonathan Anderson, renowned stylist and creative director of Loewe who designed the clothes for “Rivals”. “It's one of my favorite books of all time. And the film has it all – Mexico, lots of dr**s and Daniel Craig,” Anderson told The Guardian. The work will premiere at the Venice Festival, which will take place between August 28th and September 7th.
