Dua Lipa to be performing at the opening of 2024 Olympic Games

Producer Marc Cerrone will perform live at the 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony on July 26. He will be joined by around 20 artists, including singers Aya Nakamura, Celine Dion and Dua Lipa.

British singer Dua Lipa – who recently released the album Radical Optimism – but also Aya Nakamura, whose possible programming has provoked strong reactions from the far right.

Rumors also suggest that the iconic Celine Dion is among the artists who could be scheduled for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, which will take place at the Jardins du Trocadéro in Paris. If her health allows it (she suffers from stiff person syndrome), the singer could start singing Edith Piaf's Hymn to Love.

According to information from Le Canard enchaîné, a colossal budget of 2.7 million euros was paid out by the State to afford stars Aya Nakamura and Céline Dion at the opening ceremony. But the organization of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games denied such an amount to AFP.

Artists performing that day will not receive a fee for their appearance, but their "technical production and performance organisation costs "will be covered by the Olympics".
