Had Get Back been the lead single, how would it have performed?

Had Get Back (that ended up as a bonus track) been Blackout's lead single, how would it have performed? Was Gimme More the right lead single?

Gimme more was, is and always will be the best choice. 

It set the mood for all the blackout era.

I mean.. nothing can top the iconic "It's Britney, *****".

This song is the perfect bonus track. As a single? Not at all. Gimme More is a far superior song honestly. I feel like this would have stalled in the Top 20..

Although, Get Back is one of my all time faves and I like it better than Gimme More. It's just not as radio friendly or song-like. But it is a badass ***** bangah.

Gimme More's instrumental is way more intricate, and I love the kinda feeling of getting overwhelmed by something in GM.

Get Back is a nice dancing regular track, 2which also sounds like gm, but not as intricate.

This. Let's go back to 2007 for a minute. Britney was in the midst of her breakdown, she had just shaved her head, she was out partying every night and had flashed her pus multiple times... the GP hated her. She could've released some sappy ballad about how terrible her life is and how mean everyone was to her, but instead the first thing people heard from her was... "it's Britney, *****." It was such a ballsy move, especially with how tarnished Britney's image was at the time.

Get Back is cute. I've never really understood the fan base's obsession with it tho.

For me they're very similar songs, both iconic, dark and ****. In my opinion it would've done similar to Gimme More.

"The one and only... Britney" would've been the substitute for It's Britney *****

I personally like the song, but it's not radio friendly or commercial enough. It's definitely a b-track.

I think it would have been just as successful as Gimme More. After Gimme More it was the next best choice for lead single from Blackout. Gimme More is my fave lead single from Britney but Get Back is one of my favourite bonus tracks from her.

Nope, Get Back is fine but Gimme More runs rings around it, G M remains her best single to date and the B team did the right thing (for once) in relegating Get Back to a bonus track

I think GM was the right choice

Get Back is a great song, definitely deserved single treatment or at least made it to the standard version

Gimme More and Get Back can both be interpreted as shots at the paparazzi/public (feels like the crowd is saying gimme more / if you can't take it then get back). I think the success woulda been more or less the same. Get Back is a banger. And I think the second half of the song is stronger than Gimme More, which Danja really starts to drag.

"It's Britney *****" is iconic but I still think it's more so associated with the disastrous VMA performance, not Gimme More itself. Nobody heard "*****" on the radio.
