I took a look at data from Google searches, to see if her performance made an impact on the GP. 

She was the most googled performer of the night WORLD WIDE. More people googled Britney (the blue) than Beyoncé (yellow), Rihanna (green) or Kanye (red). 

Just think about that. More people were interested in Britney Spears than anyone else. She didn't win an award. She wasn't even nominated. She showed up to deliver a stellar performance and generated more interest than anyone else.

Maybe it's for Britney's overall appearance, and not just the performance. Britney was also praised for looking gorgeous at her red carpet arrival and the fact that this is her comeback after almost a decade, then her performance to top it off. I think that is enough of a reason why she is the most talked about on social media sites. Beyonce only has her performance to be talked about and nothing else.
