Britney Spears Wants Nothing to Do With Lifetime's TV Movie About Her

It's her prerogative. Britney Spears is apparently not happy that Lifetime is making a TV movie about her life. Her rep released a statement about the project on Thursday, August 25.

"Britney Spears will not be contributing in any way, shape or form to the Lifetime biopic," the rep tells Us Weekly, "nor does it have her blessing."

Lifetime announced on Wednesday that a two-hour biopic about the pop star, 34, is in the works with Natasha Bassett as its leading lady. The made-for-TV movie will focus on Spears' roller coaster of a career, her parents' divorce and her famous split from Justin Timberlake.

The cable channel has previously based movies on late stars such as Whitney Houston and Brittany Murphy, and on the casts of Saved by the Bell and Beverly Hills, 90210.

Spears, meanwhile, is keeping busy with other endeavors. She continues to perform in Las Vegas as part of her Planet Hollywood residency and will be hitting the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 28.

Additionally, the "Clumsy" singer will take part in the Apple Music Festival in London for its 10th anniversary. Other musical acts scheduled for the event include Calvin Harris, Alicia Keys, Bastille, Chance The Rapper, Elton John, OneRepublic, Robbie Williams and Michael Buble.

"I’m so excited to go back to London, which is a special place for me to visit and I’m really looking forward to performing at the Apple Music Festival," Spears said in a press release. "It’s also their 10th birthday! It’s going to be a great party."
