lol I personally think she's sings live into her microphone at least 80% of the times. She was definitely singing MM&I but they just had the track way over her voice. Its a good thing to do in the event that there's problems with the audio or the track skips. If that happens you'll hear Britney and people can't say she's a Milli Vanilli.

 I'm just ganna go with the OP and continue to be happy with the VMA's pre-recorded or not I really dug how great she sounded on that song and hope they really do send it to radio like I keep reading
