Britney opening would have been too much pressure on her, I think. I feel like it would trigger 2007 flashbacks.

And I figured out what that terribly written article was saying (finally) but thanks for the super sleuths who really dissected it.

The performance wasnt bad at all. It only looked bad if you saw what Beyonce did.

Brit was fine. Bey was excellent. Brit after Bey was bad because people were just thinking on what Beyonce did and what the next one will do.

If MTV was worried about Britney they should not have made the epic commercial and instead hyped the performance as a Britney& G-Easy performance. Instead they hyped Britney's return to VMAs.  If they were worried they would have had her perform right before Beyonce. Putting a performance that had minimal production after one that was filled with it for 16 minutes will never make sense. That wasn't a tv decision nor a lower expectation decision.
