  1. Travis Scott is heading to Las Vegas. On Monday (August 1), it was announced that the 31-year-old "SICKO MODE" rapper has landed a residency at the Zouk Nightclub at Resorts World. Travis's show, which will be called Road to Utopia is being described as a “mind-bending, first-of-its-kind nightclub residency experience," according to a statement from Resorts World shared with Variety. 2. Billboards for Travis Scott’s Long-Delayed ‘Utopia’ Album Appear in California ''Billboards for Travis Scott’s long-delayed “Utopia” album have appeared in California, clearly aimed at the audience for the 2022 Coachella festival next weekend, which the multiplatinum rapper was originally scheduled to headline. One of the four billboards reads “PSST…..,” another features the logo for Scott’s Cactus Jack company, another says “Looking for UTOPIA?” and another says “WRONG WAY!” — which, since it appears on the I-10 in the direction headed away from the Coachella grounds in Indio, Calif., could be perceived as at least a comment on the festival. Coachella canceled Scott’s appearance after 10 people died when the crowd surged during his headlining set at his Astroworld festival in November.'' 3. ''Multiple fatalities, hundreds injured at Travis Scott's Astroworld Festival HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Eight people died Friday night and hundreds of others were injured during the opening night of a popular weekend music festival at NRG Park, authorities said. It happened at the third-annual Astroworld Festival, a sold-out concert event featuring multiple acts. The worst of the incident began around 9:15 p.m. when the crowd of approximately 50,000 concert-goers began to move toward the front of the stage, according to Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña. "The crowd began to compress toward the front of the stage, and people began to panic," Peña said.'' https://abc13.com/astroworld-festival-canceled-deaths-fatal-texas-concert/11203827/
  4. Travis Scott Out of Coachella 2022 Lineup Following Astroworld Tragedy ''Sources say the festival informed Scott’s longtime agent, Cara Lewis of the Cara Lewis Group, of its intent to pull Scott from the bill, which he was to headline, and that it would pay a kill fee for the cancelation, typically 25%. An insider adds that Lewis has been steadfast in trying to keep the slot, which would have marked Scott’s return to the stage after Astroworld. Coachella, which launched in 1999, is the biggest music festival in North America, with a capacity of 125,000. The 2022 edition is already sold out and offering a wait list for tickets and packages. But despite the lack of clarity, it is difficult to imagine Scott performing at any music festival in the near future in the wake of his Houston concert (Live Nation was among the promoters for Astroworld). Hundreds of lawsuits have been filed in the wake of the Astroworld tragedy, naming Scott, guest performer Drake, promotor Live Nation and various other individuals affiliated with NRG Park and Scoremore Holdings as defendants.'' https://variety.com/2021/music/news/travis-scott-out-coachella-2022-performance-astroworld-1235131349/
  5. Kanye West temped up with Travis Scott for a new song/video titled "Wash Us In The Blood." The song is grade-A Kanye. On it, Ye spits about the racial inequality ravaging the US. Heads up: the video is pretty jarring, containing graphic and violent imagery. This is the first taste off Kanye's forthcoming album, God Country. Kanye said of the track: “I was thinking of not rapping again, because I rapped for the devil so long that I didn’t even know how to rap for God. Then one of my pastors told me, ‘My son just said that he would want a rap album about Jesus from Kanye West.’ He didn’t say, ‘Kanye West, you should do this,’ or ‘you need to do this.’ He just told me something that a child said. And that one thing made the difference.” Watch it below. Thoughts on the visual, Exhale? Related:
  6. ROSALIA just released a collab with Travis Scott. The song is great and rising on streaming platforms - she isn't very known outside the Spanish speaking culture but she always serves she's besties with Dua Lipa and openly stans Britney Not sure if the timing for the video is right though. It didn't seem right to me to see all those kids running with all the protests going on - might be just me overthinking it but I was interested to hear if it had/would potentially get any backlash Have a nice week everyone
