  1. In an interview for Australia, promoting Garbage's critically acclaimed studio album "No Gods No Masters" Shirley discusses how the industry grooms child stars, to work and only work at a young age, that before their 18 and get to experience teenage years, they already worked most of their lives. Citing what everybody witnessed what Britney spears and Justin bieber went through, she warns and Hope's that it doesn't repeat with Lorde, Billie eilish and Olivia Rodrigo, stating in today's climate they're programmed to think they can't stay away for a year or two without fear of being replaced fast. She also touches how females older in their 50s, need to stay fighting so it teaches today's young women that you can still have your amazing career in your 50s with your ride or die fans. She also wants to interview Cardi B and Lil Nas X in her Music podcast.
  2. In the 90s Before alternative meant a pop driven genre, it was a rock based melodic genre which the likes Of Chris Cornell, Alanis Morissette and No Doubt was huge superstars in this version of Alternative. One Band Though, Garbage is perhaps the most underrated and overlooked band from this era. Fronted by Widely Acclaimed Feminist icon Shirley Manson, the band is known for not just rock, but electronica, Trip hop and acid Techno in its sound. Their debut album spawned 2 US Rock hits, Stupid Girl and Only happy when it rains. Their follow up Version 2.0 spawned the MTV hit "Special", and they even had a critical acclaimed bond anthem for the world is not enough, which saw the themes reception better than Tina Turner's and Sheryl Crow's, though it would be a few years for a bond anthem to be a global hit when Madonna sang the theme to Die Another day, but that's a different story. Their 3rd album beautiful garbage was critically acclaimed but failed to match the commercial reception of both "Garbage" and "Version 2.0. Their follow up Bleed Like US, broght first week high positions, but in the US saw a huge decrease in second week sales. Still Bleed like US with it's #4 peak remains the bands highest peak on the all genre 200 chart in the US. A greatest hits set called Absoulte Garbage followed through in 2007, then the group took a few years off, Shirley acted in the cult TV series Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles based off the franchise that Made Arnold Schwarzenegger a superstar in the action film industry. They are back with their upcoming 7th studio, No God No masters with its universal theme of Be Kind, while also featuring shirley's messages of Atheism and Feminism and also questioning the existence of Spirituality as well. My top five garbage songs are as Follow. Unlike the 2006 track by P!NK, this one find Shirley confronting her demons and self doubt with depreciating statements "Don't believe in love" Don't believe in fear" Don't believe in anything that you can't waste" Definitely resonated for the youth of that time as it was seem as feminist version of "loser" by Beck. In what can be seen as a narrative of a love affair gone bad, Shirley reminds her ex lover, that he was special to her, that he should know, while at the same time tears him a new one, asking him if he has opinions, a mind of his own, and that she did indeed used Him . While he wants her back, in a sarcastic sinister tone, she let's him know. "There's no way in hell, she'll take him back" But she's looking for him, none the less. Music video was popular on MTV, and directed by Dawn shadworth, who would use the futuristic elements in the massively successful video for "Can't get you out of my head" by none other than Kylie Minogue. .. The title track to their upcoming 7th studio album of the same name out this Friday. . Has Shirley telling people to Be Kind, Be weird, Be good and don't be scared. And that the future would be better if people Didn't have gods or masters, as life would probably be easier and more Kind But if you pray, Shirley says keep it to yourself as it hasn't worked and basically mean nothing in society today. Love the 80s rock synth influence. Ahh!! Garbages own bond Anthem with a cool and wicked twist. Bond anthems are sung in the perspective of James Bond, but garbage sang it in the perspective of the Villain. So far it's the only time a perspective from the villain is the anthem. Ahh the top song. It's been an anthem for depression and other things. Shirley likes being sad and miserable, but when it rains, that's when she's happy. She even asks you to give her your misery to make her feel better and human in her own sense. Going by the YouTube comments they said this is 2020 in a nutshell.
