It’s reported that Rita Ora has got engaged to Oscar winning film director Taika Waititi. They are preparing a low-key ceremony soon before a glitzy celebration later in the summer. A pal said to the sun: “This isn’t about them doing a big showy thing and crowing about it beforehand. It’s just about them being in love and deciding the time is right to formalise their relationship. "They couldn’t be happier.” https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/18813299/rita-ora-secretly-marry-taika-waititi/

UPDATE: Disney+ pulls the plug on the Beauty and Beast prequel series days after Rita Ora was announced to join the show. The production was supposed to start this summer. According to reports from Deadline, the decision to scrap the show was due creative reasons as well to delays with script and original music. Disney+ confirmed this to Deadline. Another singer with a flopped career into acting Per TVLine: British singer/songwriter Rita Ora is the latest addition to Disney+’s Beauty and the Beastprequel series. Set in the iconic kingdom from Beauty and the Beast yet years before Beast and Belle’s epic romance, the series will follow Gaston and LeFou (played by Luke Evans and Josh Gad) as a surprising revelation sends them and LeFou’s stepsister, Tilly (The Tender Bar‘s Briana Middleton), on an unexpected journey filled with romance, comedy and adventure. Ora — whose previous acting credits include “Herself” on episodes of Empire and 90210, plus the role of Christian Grey’s sister Mia in the Fifty Shades movies — will play a fugitive possessing “surprising abilities,” and who carries with her a secret that could potentially affect an entire kingdom. Executive-produced by Gad and Once Upon a Time showrunners Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, the yet-to-be-titled series’ cast also includes Fra Fee (Hawkeye) as Prince Benoit Berlioz and Jelani Alladin (The Walking Dead: World Beyond) as Jean-Michel, a talented artist with a quick wit. Arguably the most interesting part about the prequel series was found in a statement from Disney Branded Television CCO Gary Marsh, who said last June, “For anyone who’s ever wondered how a brute like Gaston and a goof like LeFou could have ever become friends and partners, or how a mystical enchantress came to cast that fateful spell on the prince-turned-beast, this series will finally provide those answers… and provoke a whole new set of questions.” That implies that Gaston, whose previous connection to the Beast related only to their shared admiration for Belle, might know more about the Enchantress’ curse than fans would have ever suspected. Production on the series is set to begin this spring.

Bebe Rexha says she wanted to get herself, Dua Lipa, Rita Ora and Ava Max all on one track together (they all share Albanian heritage), however it's not going to happen because Dua and Rita are fighting. “I have really tried. I don’t know what’s really going on there or what the drama is. I’ve tried to always be the peace-keeper and bring the girls together," Bebe tells The Sun. "For me, I would really love to do something together but I’m not sure that will ever happen. And I won’t say any more about that.” She adds that they've become competitive because of the nature of the industry. “It’s weird because I know how it is to be a girl and sometimes we can get really competitive. I’m not even talking about me, Dua, Rita and Ava, I’m just talking about females in general. What happens is there’s not enough women at the table." “I don’t know about the UK charts but here in the US, a couple of years ago 80 per cent of the radio was male and only 20 per cent of the songs that were played were by women. That’s messed up. When we see that there’s only 20 per cent of us, we feel like we have to compete, we’re a minority in the music industry." “It’s sad that there’s an unspoken competitiveness because I see it as, ‘How awesome is it that we all have our own levels of success?’ I would love for it to happen because I know all of these girls individually and they’re all awesome chicks." Meanwhile, Ava Max remains unproblematic. Thoughts, Exhale?

Hi, I was wondering where would place Rita Ora, is she a musician, if so, could she be labelled as successful? She does not strike me as the sales machine, nor streaming machine, nor critics baby, and fan favourite? not sure if she has a sizeable fanbase. Then she tried the acting department with 50 Shades of Grey franchise/Pokemon Detective Pikachu, but that didn't go far. Then she did some hosting and TV gigs, and this is also not something that you would call her massive achievement. She has done her share as a judge in Masked Singer UK and The X factor and the Voice UK/Australia. For fellow artists in her range (2 albums released) she seems to be stuck, and not really taking off much. Is it all related to some recording company drama? I remember she had some big issue between her first (2012) and second album (2018). What you think?

Rita Ora is under fire for "blackfishing" after the Internet begins discovering both of her parents are white Albanians. Le sigh. A new Tweet about it received a lot of attention. Naturally, it opened the door for Rita to receive a lot of hate. In 2016, talk show host Wendy Williams told Ora, "I thought you were half-Black and half-white, or something like that." Ora replied: "Everybody usually does. I might as well be. But no, I'm Albanian." Does Rita wearing these kinds of hairstyles, dressing a certain way... is she trying to portray herself as a black woman? I'm a little hesitant to comment, but I feel like this backlash is a bit unwarranted. Thoughts?

Rita Ora just released a music video for "How To Be Lonely." I've always had a soft spot for her because I had the opportunity to interview her in-person twice. She works hard and is very talented. A lot of her music is pretty under-appreciated. Her new tune... I'm not convinced is her best release to-date. It's a solid song and the video is a serve! Tons of bizarre looks in the visual. Her rolling around in the eggs made me a bit uncomfortable lol. What do you guys think? Me getting a boyfriend while in quarantine:
