  1. I’ve just seen this article and I don’t understand... Her last album was great, but being nominated that many times?!? And Oh, surprise!!! She achieved a milestone of being nominated the most for Grammy, tied with her husband Jay-Z! What a coincidence… it just made me realize that Grammy Awards are really just a way for artists to be promoted and to achieve arranged milestones. There were so many great albums in the last year, I just think that no album is that "great" to be in the top of every category it fits in, no matter who it is! Let others shine! I prefer the Awards where the public votes… (Sorry for the bad English, I speak French) Beyonce Ties All-Time Grammy Nominations Record WWW.BILLBOARD.COM Beyonce eyes the most Grammy wins of all time with 2023 nominations. 2. Wonder why radio plays the same songs over and over? It's cause payola is very much a thing. Rolling Stone published an article including text messages from top label execs communicating with radio. The texts reveal that money was indeed being paid to radio in order to promote artists, a banned practice. The article focuses on Mitch Mills, a senior vice president of radio promotion at Elektra Records, and Steve Zap, an independent radio promoter who works with a number of stations in the adult contemporary format. From Rolling Stone: Zap denies any wrongdoing: “You say that I requested airplay and awarded [a station] with ‘consideration,’ and that such linkage is established by text messages,” he stated. “The actual texts, though, do not support your characterizations. In the texts, no specific consideration is linked with any specific instance of airplay. Therefore, allegations that I purchased airplay through quid pro quo agreements would be reckless and extremely damaging.” Here are some of the artists included in the story: Marshmello Halsey Dua Lipa Ellie Goulding Ed Sheeran Shawn Mendes Khalid Backstreet Boys You can read the full story here.
