  1. Per Deadline: NBC is not moving forward with Hungry. The comedy pilot has been passed on by the network. It comes after it picked up George Lopez comedy pilot Lopez Vs. Lopez to series yesterday and follows the renewals of series including American Auto, Grand Crew and Young Rock. Hungry faced a few challenges as it proceeded. Originally meant as a starring vehicle for Demi Lovato, who exec produces, the food issues comedy, replaced them with Modern Family star Ariel Winter ahead of production. Written and executive produced by Suzanne Martin and to be directed by James Burrows, Hungry follows a group of friends who belong to a food-issues group helping one another as they look for love, success and the perfect thing in the fridge that’s going to make it all better. Valerie Bertinelli, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Ryan McPartlin, Alex Brightman and Ashley D. Kelley also star in the pilot, which comes from Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner’s Hazy Mills, SB Projects and Universal Television. Hayes, Milliner, Lovato, Scooter Braun, Scott Manson and James Shin exec produced.
  2. Per Deadline: Rebuilding from the disastrous postponement of her planned Las Vegas residency, Adele will return to the public eye on March 20 with a concert special on NBC. The “Easy on Me” singer will headline a show filmed at the London Palladium. The two-hour special, An Audience with Adele, will feature her greatest hits performances of “Someone Like You” and “Hello,” as well as cuts from her latest album, 30. The special already aired last November in the UK. Between songs, the audience will have a chance to ask Adele questions. Celebrities on hand for the show include Idris Elba, Emma THompson, and Hannah Waddington. .The event won’t be Adele’s first television concert. She headlined Adele: One Night Only, which bowed on CBS last November from the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles. An Audience with Adele debuts March 20 at 9 PM ET/PT on NBC, and will be available to stream the next day on Peacock.
  3. Per Deadline: EXCLUSIVE: This is a surprise. Demi Lovato, who had been attached as star in NBC’s multi-camera comedy pilot Hungry for a year, has stepped down from acting duties in the project just as it was about to start production. Lovato, along with their manager Scooter Braun, remain executive producers. The role is being recast, with the goal to have a replacement shortly so the pilot stays on schedule. According to sources, Lovato bowed out as an actor due to scheduling issues. Written and executive produced by Suzanne Martin and to be directed by James Burrows, Hungryfollows a group of friends who belong to a food-issues group helping one another as they look for love, success and the perfect thing in the fridge that’s going to make it all better. Valerie Bertinelli, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Ryan McPartlin, Alex Brightman and Ashley D. Kelley also star in the pilot, which comes from Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner’s Hazy Mills, SB Projects and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. Hayes, Milliner, Lovato, Braun, Scott Manson and James Shin exec produce. Hungry was originally picked up to pilot by NBC in April 2021 as single-camera comedy. Some cast was added during the summer, with the rest of the actors added recently when the new, multi-camera format was revealed and multi-cam king Burrows was as director.
