  10. The week of July 12 - July 16 in 1999, Britney Spears was a guest on MTV's TRL Week from Bahamas, where she chatted with Dave Holmes each of the five days from the paradisiacal destination. The show was part of the special that MTV had for the Summer, which included shows that featured several celebrities as guests, as well as a series of concerts at the beach, such as Limp Bizkit.
  11. MTV is bringing back one of its most popular reality franchises, The Hills, with a new incarnation. The Paramount network has given a series order to The Hills: Next Gen (w/t), from MTV Entertainment Studios. The Hills: Next Gen will feature a brand-new cast that is expected to be more diverse than the original. The series will follow a close group of twentysomething friends and aspiring entrepreneurs who are coming of age in a very different L.A. They will navigate realities of race, class, identity, addiction, family drama along with the thrills of romance and becoming self-made amidst the exclusive enclave of the hills in Malibu. Created by Adam DiVello and executive produced by Liz Gateley and Sean Travis, the original The Hills, starring Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt and Brody Jenner, was a spinoff of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. The series ran on MTV for six seasons, from 2006-2010, and focused on the personal and professional lives of several young women and men living in L.A. The series was revived by MTV in 2019, with the original cast returning for the new installment, The Hills: New Beginnings. It premiered in 2019 and ran for two seasons. MTV has been revamping and bringing back the channel’s biggest unscripted series from the past couple of decades. In addition to The Hills, there have been new installments of The Real Life, Jersey Shore and Cribs, among others.

  16. Madonna opened the 40th anniversary 2021 VMA's and with an introduction that STOLE.THE.SHOW. The ceremony led with a historic intro laying out her career and it's alignment with MTV. Then surprised the entire venue with her presence. An immediate standing ovation and roaring applause ushered in the Queen of Pop! First appearing in a sophisticated trench coat, which soon led the controversial artist to strip out of her coat to reveal a se.xy leather outfit. After she opened the show, she turned around to reveal a plump apple bottom bum! The Queen of Pop always leaves an audience stunned! Madonna is just THAT B.ITCH! We Stan! Ageist to the left, to the left!
  17. 20 years ago this month, Michelle Branch came out with her debut studio album The Spirit Room. Despite years of disputes at Warner Brothers over album releases (she’d later go on to leave the company after being “dropped” in 2015, to reclaim her voice and release an album titled Hopeless Romantic in 2017), she just announced that she would be re releasing the Spirit Room on a double vinyl, with one disc being the original songs and the next being re recorded versions of the material I imagine they will sound something like this: She was credited as bringing back pop rock prior to the likes of Avril Lavigne. She was also labelled an Anti-Britney for a bit of time since it was starting to become popular that very summer. the album, produced by John Shanks (who would later produce Ashlee Simpson and more pop rock acts in the early 2000s), spawned the hits Everywhere All You Wanted and Goodbye To You, which was also featured on Buffy the first single off the reworked version of the Spirit Room will be You Get Me. It comes out this Friday, August 13 2021. I can’t wait to hear what it will sound like! You can pre save it now. Here’s the 01 version: @SUCCESSICA IS A QUEEN @SlayOut @Isla @CrazyButItFeelsAllright @Jordan Miller @Urbanney @jordeezy @PokemonSpears
  18. It took such a long time to get this back up but I’m really excited to present to you by documentary on Aaliyah. It took me about a year to make and I interviewed several fans including some exhalers who grew up listening to her music to assist with telling her story. I also get into why people of the last generation and a half are not familiar with much of her discography despite knowing how she looked, etc. Britney makes a few appearances as I seek to showcase pop culture at the time vs now, and illustrate how music consumption has changed. I also make a commentary on the political landscape when Aaliyah died. I get into the 2012 drake/40 album that never happened, JoJo’s story, why we couldn’t stream Blackground’s albums and more! I’d really appreciate if you could check it out @Jordan Miller @Midnight if you could feature this I would really really be grateful!
  19. REUPLOADED @Jordan Miller @Urbanney @SlayOut @SUCCESSICA IS A QUEEN @Blackout @princessmimi @Midnight Hi everyone! Rik here. Over the last year I have really developed a liking for YouTube videos and documentaries specifically. I used to really enjoy making videos and for the first time in ages, I’ve dedicated much of my time to creating a video on Free Britney, and more recently a video on Aaliyah and her legacy. Even if you aren’t familiar with her, this video will explain why it is and showcase various clips from her life. I also interviewed several fans that grew up listening to her music to truly tell her story as authentically as possible. I was initially in talks to include an author of a very popular Aaliyah novel that recently came out, however things fell through for that. i know you guys are used to me trolling on here but I’d sincerely appreciate if you could all check my documentary out. Due to copyright ive had to make some changes (particularly at the end with explaining the Drake album and Missy/Timbaland drama from back in 2012). I also explain who owns Aaliyah’s name, get into the dispute between her estate (CMG worldwide on behalf of her brother Rashad and mother Diane), and Blackground 2.0 run by her uncle. I also explore how music consumption has changed and how not having Aaliyah’s music on streaming platforms has impacted her legacy. There’s also references to current events that occurred around this time, and for that reason includes footage from 9/11, Total Request Live, Park 106, and the 2001 VMAs. Britney makes a few cameos herself in this! I’m very excited to share you my labour of love, AALIYAH IS COMING: A Legacy Revived, out on YouTube now. I really hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Very special thank you to people who contributed their voices for the interviews! @Malibu.D.Luxx @ohoneey @PokemonSpears @I Always Sing Live @Isla @Urbanney @Lyndsay Luxury @SUCCESSICA IS A QUEEN @SlayOut @Midnight @Blackout2006 @JoJo Online@Jordan Miller @CrazyButItFeelsAllright@ohoney @Slayer @Prachi @princessmimi @dfffff @HardToForgetYa
  20. I was browsing through some posts on Instagram and found an old clip of Britney with Brian McFayden. Someone also asked Brian “Was she so fun to hang with?” Brian responded with “The best! She’s lovely.” One of the crew members from this video also said she turned him on to frappuccinos. Trend setter. I thought it was a fun clip and I’ve always really liked Brian. I think he is very down to earth and professional. UPDATE 8/1:
  21. Rolling Stone published a list of what they consider the 30 ***iest videos of all time. At #4, I'm a Slave 4 U by Britney Spears: You can see the full list here
