  1. So i've been recently listening again to Britney's discography after ages and i've come to the conclusion that "3" is, and always have been, the perfect pop track that really deserved more high recognitions, such as a Grammy, for the following reasons: - The entire song screams 'Britney Spears' all over it, edgy lyrics, fierce attitude and makes you feel like the $€xiest person alive. - Max Martin proved once again that his production remains unmatched and when working with Britney, magic always happens! - It's one of the few Britney's songs to have a proper solid bridge, one of the best bridges of her entire catalogue, if you ask me...still getting goosebumps from it after all this years! If Britney will ever make music again i just hope Max reaches out to her...Glory was really cool and a lot of fun () but we need the "Britney Banger" once again! Thoughts?
  2. I commented under the anniversary of Diary Of Britney spears documentary of Max and Britney making I'm not a girl. My comment was "I wish they worked together just last time, it's never going to happen but one can dream" after he liked it, I mentioned about the glory song DYFO being a banger lol. Can you believe that was left unfinished when it was their first Collab since 2011? I can't I was informed it was a fan site but I still stand behind my comment lol
  3. So I've not seen "& Juliet" yet, but as an ardent Britney stan and student of Max Martin's songwriting and production methods, this feels like a must-see for me. Much as I love the songs included, I would be in favor of a shakeup of the song list with some of Max's more overlooked classics and newer hits. Personally, I'd want all of the Dr. Luke-credited songs to go, for obvious reasons, but I concede that only 6 of the 29 appear in the musical. Some of my personal recommendations would be Sam Smith's "How Do You Sleep?", Robyn's "Do You Know (What It Takes)", the oft-ignored predecessor to "Show Me Love", and this is pure pipe dream material, but I'd love to see Solid HarmoniE and Jessica Folcker songs included to help reintroduce them to new audiences. Finally, and most importantly, HOW IS THERE NO TAYLOR SWIFT SONG??? "Wildest Dreams", "Blank Space" and "...Ready For It?" would be fantastic, but my personal favorite would be "I Did Something Bad" at a pivotal moment during the musical. Now, I'm no theatre producer, nor do I plan to be, but I would like to see & Juliet explore Max's discography beyond just his big hits.
  4. Coldplay just announced that their ninth studio album, Music of the Spheres, will drop October 15 and is executive produced by pop legend Max Martin, whom the band called "a true wonder of the universe". The artwork and imagery of this era is VERY Chromatica to me so maybe Maxy never left that universe... Thoughts? I really haven't listened to Coldplay after high school (during the Mylo Xyloto era with the Rihanna bop), but I've always appreciated their message and live performances. The first single, "Higher Power", is all right. But it leaves me feeling a little underwhelmed like Lorde's "Solar Power". Maybe record labels are struggling to find lead singles that will connect with everyone. Oftentimes, I feel as though they end up connecting with no one except the die-hards. This is why deep cuts are usually/always my favorite on a big pop album like this. At the end of the day, alternative songs with deeper meanings just cannot compete with s**, wap, and *** on the radio. But I'm excited for new Max Martin music in 2021.
  5. Max Martin became #1 producer with the most number-one singles on the Billboard HOT 100 (tie with George Martin (The Beatles)) with "My Universe" by Coldplay and BTS. He's also the #3 songwriter with the most number-one singles on the Billboard HOT 100. It all started with Britney Spears's "...Baby One More Time" in 1998. Legends. Also he's coming for blood with Adele and Dua Lipa...and maybe #B10? List : 1998 – "...Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears 2000 – "It's Gonna Be Me" by NSYNC 2008 – "I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry 2008 – "So What" by Pink 2009 – "My Life Would Suck Without You" by Kelly Clarkson 2009 – "3" by Britney Spears 2010 – "California Gurls" by Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg 2010 – "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry 2010 – "Raise Your Glass" by Pink 2011 – "Hold It Against Me" by Britney Spears 2011 – "E.T." by Katy Perry featuring Kanye West 2011 – "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" by Katy Perry 2012 – "Part of Me" by Katy Perry 2012 – "One More Night" by Maroon 5 2012 – "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" by Taylor Swift 2013 – "Roar" by Katy Perry 2013 – "Dark Horse" by Katy Perry featuring Juicy J 2014 – "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift 2014 – "Blank Space" by Taylor Swift 2015 – "Bad Blood" by Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar 2015 – "Can't Feel My Face" by The Weeknd 2016 – "Can't Stop the Feeling!" by Justin Timberlake 2019 – "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd 2021 – "Save Your Tears" by The Weeknd and Ariana Grande 2021 – "My Universe" by Coldplay and BTS
  6. In, 1995 Max Martin would have his debut on the hot 100, and it wasn't a backstreet boys song (The boys have been adamant saying if it wasn't for The Spice girls and wannabe being embraced by radio, they and teen pop probably wouldn't have happened in the US). But Ace of base, holds the distinction of being his first major pop and club hit in the US (he didn't write any of the songs, his mentor denniz pop didn't believe in songwriting, citing their version of English would never work). But Beautiful life written by Jonas Jonas Berggren and Billy Steinberg peaked at #15 on the hot 100, and number one on the dance club charts. Ulf said in 2018, it was very much Techno and electronic while being huge in the clubs in the US, radio was very reluctant cos it didn't fit anything at the time when the US was very r&B and hip hop oriented, the European pop sound is very different than the US Pop sound. But it went top 15 off the strength of the sales of the single. They recorded a Spanish version but as Linn explained, it was translated wrong by the guy who sings in Spanish cos he was high. It was abandoned due to the lyrics being translated wrong but you can hear a clip of the Spanish version.. The track was so successful despite peaking at number 15, it was the 92nd most popular song of 1996 on the hot 100. @Prachi
  7. This goes into depth Max Martin 's career.. First major Billboard hot 100 hit , The top 15 hit by Ace of Base with Beautiful life, the other two singles he did on the Bridge with Denniz Pop, failed to see the same success as Beautiful life, but Ulf Ekberg put it down as simple "R&B and hip hop were really beginning it's much stronger dominance in the Industry in the US, a very hard techno song like Beautiful life was gonna be more successful in the clubs than the radio in America" This would explain How backstreet boys and Britney and even *NSYNC would be dance pop but very R&B ish to the point that the US would eat it up, in Europe the teen pop acts by local acts such as Steps and S Club 7 was deliberately aimed for British audiences who didn't care for hip hop or R&B, which at that time was unpopular in that industry, it's more popular now, but that's because the youth today grew up on r&B and hip hop, unlike the youth of the 90s in the UK which grew up on melodic pop.. But he changed his sound once the teen pop sound ended, embraced a very more rock pop sound as Kelly Clarkson and P!NK would be his two biggest successes in terms of production in the mid 00s and late 00s, even his reunion with Britney spears, in due to the controversy of the song title in If I seek Amy, failed to see the success he had with Katy Perry, P!NK and Kelly Clarkson.. In the 2010s thanks to Lady gaga, he went to a dance pop sound first half of the decade, Katy Perry, Britney spears, usher (with a song rejected by Britney herself with the iconic djs got is falling in love), and countless others gave him a reign, that ultimately reached its peak with 2014's 1989 by Taylor swift, which is perhaps the last time he was on top of the Pop Music industry, dangerous woman while loved by the general public, disowned by Ariana herself would probably be his last true success.. In 2017, he helped two projects that had polar opposite reception.. Witness by Katy Perry, unfortunately was his least successful project to date, But reputation by Taylor swift, was actually a commercial success. Unfortunately after two albums by Ariana grande, and in his 26th year of his career, he really isnt as popular as he really was in the 00s and the 10s, but like artists, eventually a producer eventually while remaining iconic to contributions to music, becomes irrelevant when it comes to a new generation. Max Martin at 50 is probably not gonna get the career highs again, when the hottest In demand producers are mostly under 25 such as Finneas and several others. But this is solid proof for almost 30 years Max Martin was a force to reckon with.
  8. So I was browsing Netflix and I bumped into this docu-series called 'This is Pop'. So far, I've only watched the third episode: Stockholm Syndrome. I found very interesting all the insights given on how Sweden has been so influential in pop music. Of course, Britney is mentioned. The Cheiron team says this about her: "...when we got to work with her we realized how professional she was and how hard she worked. I mean, she stood in that little singing room for, I mean, day in day out. And she just delivered, delivered, delivered..." I wish they had gone a little deeper about how ...Baby One More Time was done (mainly because Max Martin is brought up, obviously), but I just think it's so nice to hear respectable names in the industry talk about her that way. And well, the narrator lets a 'It's Britney, *****' slip in Check it out, I'll go and finish the rest of the episodes.
  9. In the US, Netflix has the exclusive broadcast rights for the "This is Pop". While most of the press went to an infamous incident in which Usher said to T-Pain he ****ed up Music thanks to popularizing Autotune in music, which led to a 4 year depression for T-Pain as he took it personal like he did **** up Music. But one episode covers swedish pop, beginning with ABBA, to Ace of Base (that band was the first to get credit for both Cherion sound going global and introducing Max Martin i.e. Beautiful life was Max Martin's first Billboard hot 100 appearance in the US at #15) They also touch how Controversial the whole hit me baby one more time, it was originally call me, but due to the melody, it was switched to hit me, cos musically it made sense, and they explain as English as a second language, it's easier to be more simplified and simplistic lyrics cos in Japan its easier to remember All that she wants is another baby, vs a complex chorus with lots of words. But the label retitled it to ..baby one more time to avoid further controversy.
  10. From his early days with Ace of Base, Robyn, to his iconic hits with Britney Spears, Backstreet boys, NSYNC, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, To his lone Selena Gomez production " Hands to Myself"..enjoy.
