On April 25, 2011, Till the World Ends (The Femme Fatale Remix) was released on iTunes. The new version of Britney's Femme Fatale's second single featured a rap by Nicki Minaj and it also featured Ke$ha, who co-wrote the original song. Although the remix had leaked online since April 22, it wasn't addressed by the artists who only revealed a countdown on their websites that led to the official release on April 25. The remix starts with Nicki Minaj's verse which seems to be directed at a female hater, with phrases such as "Told you they'd revive your career but somebody lied" and "I ain't talkin' poultry when I say this chicken's fried" as well as references to Britney's album name, Femme Fatale, and Ricki Lake. She then introduces Britney and Ke$sha, the latter of which proceeds to sing the first chorus before Britney takes on the song. Ke$sha rejoins Britney later in the track towards the end of the second verse and the bridge. Ke$sha talked to MTV News about the track: Though Ke$sha never joined Britney to perform the track, Nicki Minaj did perform her verse at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards, which was followed by Britney performing a shortened version of Till the World Ends. Nicki Minaj also joined Britney on her Femme Fatale Tour that summer and performed the track on selected dates. Only that instead of opening the song with her rap, Nicki would appear later, before the final chorus. Related:
