On March 25, 2002 Britney's Dance Beat was released for Nintendo's Game Boy Advance. The music video game was developed by THQ and it featured Britney Spears' music. The plot of the game was to help Britney perfect her moves as she prepared for her world tour. The gameplay was similar to that of Dance Dance Revolution and other games of the same style, where you have to press the buttons shown at the screen to the beat of the song, getting a different grade depending of how precise your movements were. The songs featured on the game were ...Baby One More Time, Oops!... I Did It Again, Stronger, Overprotected and I'm a Slave 4 U. The blurb read: Help Britney get ready for her upcoming tour! Britney's about to embark on her latest world tour, but needs to perfect her dance moves first. Help Britney by keeping her in sync to her hottest songs. Collect tour photos or face-off in 2-player mode. Either way, Britney needs you to make her tour a success! See Britney perform her famous moves Keep rhythm to your favorite Britney songs Collect tour photos and puzzles Dance head-to-head with the Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable In other regions, the game received a different cover with a picture of Britney: The game received mixed to bad reviews from the critics, mainly because of its short length, the simplistic gameplay mechanics, bad graphics and the poor quality of the music due to the limitations of the GBA. However, a different version of the game, with better visuals and audio was released for the PlayStation 2 and PC a couple of months later, this time the narrative being that the player had to audition and compete with other dancers to join Britney on her tour, but we'll commemorate that anniversary later.
