  2. I am always lighting up a preroll J and twerking my Native American *** to some music. Whether it's Pop royalty like Britney, Gaga, Xtina, Rihanna, Keesha, Tinasha, Miley, Demi, Hilary, Lindsay, Fergie, Gwen, Madonna or Rap goddesses like Meghan Thee Stallion, Saweetie, Doja Cat and Missy Elliott. But I also love my DJ boos like David Guetta, Sleepy Tom, Diplo, Skrillex, Deadmau5. And R&B homegirls like Mary J Blige and Faith Evans, Brandy, Ashanti, Ciara, Cassie, Brooke Hogan. any suggestions for new songs for me to check out that I can smoke and dance to?
  3. Flesh Tone, the fifth studio album by American singer Kelis, was released 11 years ago in the spring of 2010 by Interscope Records. A distinct departure from the R&B/Hip-Hop sound of her previous albums, the mastering on this project features heavy hitters like David Guetta, Boys Noize, Burns, will.i.am, and Benny Benassi. The album is VERY 2010, but in some ways ahead of its time (seriously!). With EDM dominating the airwaves back then, it's amazing how many people slept on this record! I loved playing Flesh Tone during my summer 2010 outings. I wasn't out yet, but the album found me before I left for college (and started... you know... experimenting ). While the album is "an ode to motherhood", re-listening to this album during Pride Month 2021 has made me realize how many songs are dedicated to embracing your identity and "emancipating" yourself -- a message I was struggling with, if not suppressing. Clocking under just 40 minutes with nine tracks (plus stellar interludes), I submit Flesh Tone is a lost gem of the 2010s. Competing for the same radio play as Ke$Ha, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, and hell, even Justin Bieber, I feel as though Kelis got lost in the mix. This is quite unfortunate considering at how fun this record is and how great Kelis is at flawlessly hopping from the slinky production of Pharrell Williams to the booming bass of the Benassi Bros. Not many artists can genre hop like that. Disappointed with Flesh Tone's performance, she left Interscope and joined a British independent label, Ninja Tune, for the release of Food, a soul album with a diverse musical style incorporating funk and Afrobeat. It was very much a passion project, embracing her roots and saying farewell to mainstream dance pop. But I don't think Flesh Tone is bad or even dated. In fact, I like it more than I did 11 years ago. What do you think of Flesh Tone? Is it a good record? Does it stand the test of time? Or is it a ? ***In May 2021, Kelis announced that she was likely to title her upcoming seventh studio album, Sound Mind, and I'm here for it. Midnight Snacks, is thought to be the lead single. Sounds like old Tasty Kelis to me.***
  4. Hello everyone!!! I would love it, if you would check out my new song demo HMU https://youtu.be/mXUyIO9ZZYU I have done 7 demo songs these past few weeks from home, i've wrote them myself and am loving making music. I'm a 22 year old gay guy from England and dream about making it big as a music artist, i love to sing, songwrite and dance and am a big pop/edm fan and have been such a big Britney fan for so long. I will attach some other of my videos below, but if you guys could check out my content i would be grateful and hope you can support me along the way as i make more music. Don't Need No Love original song demo https://youtu.be/dpWWS6Z1j6I Gotta Get Through This cover dance video https://youtu.be/4KmnOjvHyrM My Flow (original song demo, a drill inspired song) https://youtu.be/eWOQJYW0qiY Things People Say About Me (original song demo, a personal pop song with a fun twist on comments i get on the daily) https://youtu.be/MTRTp66JFfE Closer cover by Ne Yo (dance video, i sang this from the perspective of being a gay guy singing about a guy, i think its time to normalise guys singing about guys in pop) https://youtu.be/V0UCpfJNyls New Funk demo (This will be my first single released on major platforms on 23rd Apr, its a dance, pop song and is really funky, my final version of the song is much improved in sound quality but please check out this version of my song performed in my kitchen lmao) https://youtu.be/EDZO-mt9uqs I do have some other original songs on my channel and other cover songs too but those are some of my favs.
  5. I went through a phase in high school and college, where EDM was my favorite genre besides pop. I've gone through many phases throughout my life where one genre dominates over the others, but my taste has always been very diverse. Most of my Spotify playlists are a mixture of all types of music and are often not cohesive. I was inspired to create a thread celebrating "EDM" music, and I'm curious to see if there are many fans of the genre and what your favorite tracks are. I have loads I want to share but have picked ten that bring fond memories of my Junior year of high school-beginning of my sophomore year. Some of these songs came out before, but although I'd head them back, these were the years that made me love the genre. 2008-2010 were my favorite years, although 2011-2014 comes close. 10. Love Is Gone - David Guetta & Chris Willis 9. Let Me Think About It - Ida Corr vs. Fedde Le Grand 8. Technologic - Daft Punk 7. Everytime We Touch - Cascada 6. One (Your Name) - Swedish House Mafia 5. Day 'N' Nite (Crookers Remix) - Kid Cudi 4. Satisfaction - Benny Benassi 3. My Feelings For You - Avicii & Sebastien Drums 2. Heads Will Roll (A-Trak Remix) - Yeah Yeah Yeahs 1. Call On Me - Eric Prydz Share your jams that created fond memories
  6. Having will.i.am producing all of the BJ album was a poor management or musical move. No shade will, you're amazing. But I mean, yeah the Scream & Shout was a hit but it wasn't a breakthrough in pop. It was just a huge club hit, pretty generic and they said OH Let's do a whole album! I would understand if they decided to have a full bloodshy & avant produced album because Toxic was a experimental breakthrough in pop. I think an album entirely Max Martin produced would be lit or a mix of producers as long as it flows. WBU?
