The Dixie Chicks changed their name to The Chicks as a response to the racist connotations associated with the word "Dixie." A writer for Variety says the word Dixie “in some ways, represents up-with-whiteness more flagrantly than Bush…” There's a New Zealand band called The Chicks, but it's all good. “We are honored to co-exist together in the world with these exceptionally talented sisters,” The Chicks (DC) said. The Chicks' new album Gaslighter, their first in 14 years, drops July 17. Thoughts? PS - stream their new song "March March." Related:

Dixie Chicks and Natalie Maines are back at what they do best. Making Fabulous country Music. While criticizing the commander in Chief. And as you can guess. The new Video is bring mixed reception and controversy. Comments are saying they haven't learned the last time (referring to the 2003 incident from the UK. Where they controversially said they were ashamed President Bush came from Texas.) Thus causing a huge backlash and an Infamous fued with Toby Keith. Where she wore a T shirt at a country music awards that Said. " F U Toby Keith". But in 2020. They and Natalie herself remain unapologetic liberal and happy pissing the conservatives off. And I'm here for it.

This is huge! The Dixie Chicks are readying their first album in 14(!!!) years. It's called Gaslighter, and the album title track is out now. Jack Antonoff produced it (Taylor Swift, 1989). The seriousness in the lyrics is masked by an uptempo beat and sugary vocals. As the kids say, issa bop. Any Dixie Chicks fans in Exhale?
