  1. Like Santa setting off on his annual airborne sleigh ride, Mariah Carey makes her ascent back to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart with “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” The modern carol logs its ninth total week atop the Hot 100 and becomes the first song to have led in four distinct runs on the ranking. Four decades into her incredible career and showing no signs of stopping any time soon. UPDATE: Carey has now spent 89 total weeks at number-one, far more than any other artist in history. In addition to this, “All I Want for Christmas” has now spent 10 total weeks at number-one. It’s the only song that has reached number-one during four separate chart runs. It also gives Carey thelongest span of number-one hits in history.
  2. Notable movements on Billboard Radio charts: Adult Contemporary -> #7 (+1) NEW PEAK (Week 9) Adult Pop Airplay -> #5 (+2) NEW PEAK (Week 9) Radio Songs -> #11 (+2) NEW PEAK (Week 8)
  3. Why did Britney underperform on US radio so much? Britney is undoubtedly one of the biggest popstars of all time, but for whatever reason(s), US radios never seemed to warm up to her so much. FYI: I’m well aware of the radio blacklisting and how it affected her single performances. But what befuddles me even more is the performance of her pre- & post-blacklisted singles on the Billboard Radio Songs chart. According thereto, Britney Spears never had a #1 hit on US radio. Baby One More Time peaked at #8 (?!?), as did Oops. In fact, none of her pre-blacklist singles even reached the top 5 on US radio, and just two of her post-blacklist singles. Till the World Ends and Scream & Shout (which isnt even her song). Does anyone have any explanation/speculation about why this was? I’d be grateful.
  4. Debuts from Julia Jacklin, Muse, Elton John and Britney Spears - ARIA WWW.ARIA.COM.AU Who will take out #1 on the ARIA Singles Charts Britney and Elton are on track to debut at #1 on the official Australian charts! This would be Britney’s 6th #1 here and first since Everytime in 2004! Final charts confirmed on Friday! Keep streaming, buying, etc.
  5. We all need to buy, stream, and flood TikTok/IG Reels with the song, so that it goes viral. It’s common knowledge that TikTok has the ability to make songs do a 180. Look at Doja Cat’s career, or take About Damn Time by Lizzo. #1 is possible!
  6. Britney posted the video singing on Tiktok and it already has over 1 million views in about 2 hours
  7. I thought she was over, a one hit wonder, flash in the pan, how did she do this? https://www.billboard.com/charts/billboard-200 Her songs are also: Happier Than Ever: 11 NDA: 59 Getting Older: 69 Billie Bossa Nova: 70 Oxytocin: 72 I Didn't Change My Number: 80 Lost Cause: 84 Halley's Comet: 90 My Future: 91 The way the haters keep losing and Billie keeps winning
  8. 2020 is a terrible year for everyone. Some artists still worked hard to push out music for fans to listen to during the difficult period. IFPI has revealed the top 10 selling artists in the world in 2020 (in equivalent album units). 1. BTS 2. Taylor Swift 3. Drake 4. The Weeknd 5. Billie Eilish 6. Eminem 7. Post Malone 8. Ariana Grande 9. Juice Wrld 10. Justin Bieber This is the first time a non-English music artist has topped the year-end chart. Of course my husband would top the chart. No surprise. I bought 30 of his albums last year.
  9. One of Ava Max's recent releases, "Kings & Queens" debuted on the Hot 100 this week at #73. Max has released a string of guilty pop pleasures, though she's had trouble breaking into the mainstream, however... it appears things are shifting for her. Ava just dropped another song titled "Who's Laughing Now," which seems appropriate considering the amount of hate she gets on the Internet. Future queen of pop. Coming for Katy and Gaga's crown. When will your faves? For real though, congrats to her! She makes pretty great pop music, so the more people that know about her imo the better. Stream "Kings and Queens" for clear skin. Thoughts, Exhale? UPDATE: The song has achieved a new peak on the Billboard Hot 100 at #22 and seems to be slowly increasing. UPDATE 2: As of 11/29, the song reached a new peak at #13 almost 9 months after its release. A longevity queen Related:
  10. Update 1: VICTORY IS SERVED! Billie Eilish came back to the pop scene with her highly critically acclaimed song “Therefore I Am” which has recently reached a new position of #2 in the Billboard hot 100, but in the Worldwide charts, the song has already debuted at #1 selling 297k units internationally and becoming Billies first #1 hit since Bad Guy. Congrats to Billie and monumental moment in her career. The song has also reached a new position in the UK Official Charts, peaking at #2. Billboard Hot 100 for worldwide charts, TIA is also #1 and has sold 511k units WW already. https://www.mediatraffic.de/tracks.htm Earlier.... So much for a "fad" Main pop girl, Billie Eilish dropped her new song 2 weeks ago, which welcomes 12.3 million views and 6.8 million streams in its first 24 Hours and had debuted at #94 in its debut week at the Billboard Hot 100. The song has now jumped 93 positions up to the Top 3 spot and if Therefore I Am became #1, it would become one the biggest chart jumps in Billboard History and would become her 2nd #1 record. Therefore I Am is now the 4th largest jump in Billboard History. The song has gathered 5,028 radio spins entertaining around 20k audience and has surpassed WAP becoming the 15th most streamed song. TIA has sold 300k units in the US and is eligible for gold certification. Meanwhile, in the international charts, the song has risen to the #47 position, expecting to break through the top 40 in the coming weeks Related:

  13. So recently..Say So remix went to #1 and Nicki minaj got her first #1 But if you ask me her previous songs deserved number 1 rather than say so remix Say so remix actually sounded like it was fan made..While Savage Remix had that potential to be #1 What do you guys think?
  14. Congratulations are in order to to Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj! Their "Say So" remix hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the first time either Doja or Nicki have claimed a #1. That's right, this is Nicki Minaj's first-ever #1. Nicki shattered the record for the longest wait for a first Hot 100 No. 1, by total career entries, as "Say So" is her 109th charted title on the tally (which is also a record amount of entries). Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce's "Savage" remix took #2. Some stats from Billboard: Let's celebrate to women ruling the Hot 100 this week!
  15. Exhale, help me understand. Lady Gaga's new song "Stupid Love" is already out of the Top 200 on Spotify in the US (source). I am actually pretty shocked about that. The song is a BOP! But it appears the GP is not here for it. They like A Star Is Bornga better. It's not all bad though. It's sitting at #32 on the Hot 100 six weeks in. It debuted at #5. Why did Stupid Love not perform better? Can someone explain why they think it didn't have mainstream success?
