Note: the original article in Portuguese can be found here: https://www.cnnbrasil.com.br/entretenimento/anitta-inaugura-estatua-de-cera-no-museu-madame-tussauds-de-nova-york/ "Espetacular!"The Brazilian singer Anitta inaugurated its wax figure at New York Madame Tussauds on June 2 in an event in Times Square which took six months and the work of 20 artists to get ready. "It has all of my tattoos", an impressed singer exclaimed. The Madame Tussauds rep told CNN that the choice of a personality who will have a wax figure are "a reflection from those who had a meaningful impact in the world". "We are always getting feedbacks from visitors when we decide who is going to be the next to have a statue", explained the museum representatives. Besides Anitta, Neymar, Pelé, Ayrton Senna, Gisele Bündchen, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio are among the Brazilians eternalized in wax by Madame Tussauds. With exception of Senna which is located in Orlando, all other Brazilians are in New York. Anitta is the first Brazilian singer to be transformed in wax by the museum. The wardrobe was donated by the singer to the museum, the statue has the pants and her underpants exposed which she wore during a Rock In Rio concert in 2019. Also, the statue is wearing a white cropped shirt written "Garota do Rio (Girl from Rio)" - same outfit worn in the music video "Girl from Rio" launched last year. According to Madame Tussauds, the creative process can demand more than 200 measures and pictures taken from all angles from the person to be portrayed. "The head is done separately from the body figure and can take from four to six weeks to be sculpted and reach the same appearance from the famous face", says the museum website. Even the museums has branches spread in several countries, all the statues are produced in a studio in west London. Madame Tussauds has more than 500 million visitors every year. 8. Anitta becomes the first Brazilian to be on Spotify Top 10 Global among the most streamed for the first time ever. Her solo song “Envolver” reaches #9 on Top 10 after hitting the Top 30 last Monday March 14. It’s the first song from a Brazilian to reach that mark. Until today, the song which is sang in Spanish has been played over 2.5 million times. The success is due the choreography that became popular among Latino countries and is widely known as “El paso del Anitta”. It has also been charting in Mexico, Colombia and Chile among other Latin America nations. It’s Annita biggest hit in the Latin market.
  9. Poor Anitta. Her newest single “Boys Don’t Cry” an attempt to reach the always difficult market for non English speakers is a hit but only in Brazil. The song only charted on Spotify Brazil but hit #2 the day it premiered on January 28 and now is on #30 and the US it didn’t hit the top 200. It also spent eight days in the global rank but about 80% from the streaming was coming from Brazil. To promote the song, she even went to Jimmy Fallon but failed with only hit #31 on Pop Airplay on Billboard. So Exhalers, what Anitta is doing wrong or is it prejudice from Americans?
  10. "Boys Don't Cry" is officially Anitta's debut in United States of America, under Warner Records label. It is the lead single from her new album (no name or release date yet), that allegedly was also full produced by Max Martin. The video was directed by Anitta herself and Christian Breslauer, who directed Streets by Doja Cat and Industry Baby by Lil Nas X. Do you like it?
  11. Our Brazilian Pop Princess is back with her new English single Faking Love Saweetie delivers on her verse Good vibes, nice choreo, fun track overall but it should have been released at the beginning of Summer season Thoughts, Girl? @Midnight @rennen @Slayer @Style. @Jordan Miller @ObsessedBritFan1
  12. Brazilian global pop superstar Anitta unveils her signature single and video, “Girl From Rio.’ The video is a celebratory homage to the resilient and vibrant culture of her hometown of Rio de Janeiro. The clip made its global broadcast premiere on US MTV Live, MTVU, and across MTV’s global network of channels, as well as on the ViacomCBS Times Square billboard. Listen to “Girl from Rio” above. Updating the melody of “The Girl From Ipanema” with a 21st century twist, Anitta serves up a sassy and **** ode to the ladies of her hometown. Her cheeky and clever verses give way to the immediately chantable hook, “Hot girls where I’m from. We don’t look like models. Tanned lines, big curves, and the energy glows, you’ll be falling in love with the real Rio.” The blockbuster visual seamlessly brings the song to life. Nodding to classic mid-century musicals, Anitta dons a forties-era bathing suit like a vixen from the rudder of a WWII plane and launches into a stunning routine surrounded by sailors enamored with her. Fast-forward to modern day, she gives audiences a look at the ultimate beach day in Rio—and it’s every bit as hot as you’d hope it would be! Anitta has been promoting the new single in America all week. Here are some performances:
  13. The princess of Latin pop Anitta dropped a new song with the queen Cardi B and the rapper Myke Towers, titled "Me Gusta." The song brings a mix of 2 Brazilian genres sang in English and Spanish by both artists. Cardi's feature was a surprise even for Anitta, who had recorded a song with her in the last year but it got scrapped due to the pandemic. The music video was recorded in Salvador, Brazil, the same place that Michael Jackson shot "They Don't Care About Us," and will bring a fashion show featuring plus size models and drag queens with all of the artists being present on it. "Me Gusta" is the first official single from Anitta's new album, "Girl From Rio", her career's biggest next move as a representative of Brazilian music around the world.
  14. Hey gurls so, Anitta is a Brazilian singer and she’s already done some collabs with Madonna, Maluma, J Balvin, Iggy azalea, snoop dog and a few others. today she released her new MV and I’m dying for the fashion and I’m here to give u guys 5 reasons to watch it. 1. Anitta shot the video b4 the pandemics in front a church in Bahia and she brought several trans women and drags with different colours that represent the gay flag. The northeastern states in Brazil have high numbers when it comes to trans women abuse 2- Cardi was added last minute by Ryan Tedder as a surprise to Anitta (they have more songs to come). The added her perfectly to the scenes (Madonna better learn after that Nicky minaj cameo on a TV screen in ***** I’m Madonna) 3- the FASHION, Oh the ELEGANZA EXTRAVAGANZA 4- the music talks about female empowerment 5- they are set to perform at Jimmy fallon ❤️ Hope u guys like it you can watch the video at the link below
  15. Anitta is coming with fire in her eyes for the international market! After 5 Latin GRAMMYs nominations and being praised by Madonna, Snoop Dogg and J Balvin for her work on pop, urban and latin music, the "Girl From Rio" is preparing her first album with a new label, Warner Records, and it promises to be her biggest move till the date. Since she signed with Brandon Silverstein and S10 (Normani and Bazzi's managers), the Brazilian supreme star is taking all of the steps for a U.S debut, including a big project produced by Ryan Tedder (yes, that Ryan Tedder) and a solo concert at Coachella's main stage, that was delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic. But she's here to serve and it didn't stop her, as her lead single, the feminist anthem "Me Gusta", is confirmed for August. Let's check what else she has on hands for us: - The lead-single, "Me Gusta": Registered in the beginning of the year and with its music video recorded in February in Salvador, the same Brazilian city that Michael Jackson recorded the iconic "They Don't Care About Us", this bop will bring a mix of two genres (Brazilian funk+Pagodão baiano) in spanglish, being her most risky single ever. The song talks about female empowerment and already has a snippet going on the internet. The music video will bring a fashion show produced by Nicola Formichetti, who worked on Lady Gaga's Haus Labs. She also confirmed that her team is waiting the pandemic to set down for recording the music videos for the next singles. - The album, "Girl From Rio": Anitta teased this name as a song confirmed on the album (in reference to the iconic Brazilian 60s smash "The Girl From Ipanema") and her favorite possible title, matching with the theme she wants for it, female empowerment and her childhood's stories. She promises to bring all the Carnival vibes for a pop record, with tons of Brazilian tastes, as baile funk, samba and bossa nova, defining it as her best work ever and the one she has more proud of. You must have seen some rumors about some artists like Miley Cyrus, ROSALÍA and Nicki Minaj joining her for it, but, in fact, she said that probably there will be only 2 collabs, "Me Gusta" and "Tócame". The good news are that she confirmed a song ready to be released with Cardi B and others with "huge female singers". Besides that, she has an A+ List team working with her for the LP. We already have names like Ryan Tedder, Pharrell Williams, Sam Smith, The Monsters and Strangerz, Stargate, Sky Rompiendo and The Stereotypes. The Brazilian flavor is in the hands of Papatinho, ÀTTØØXXÁ and Tropkillaz. If you want to get to know more about the Brazilian icon, watch her doc series on Netflix, "Vai Anitta" and keep your eyes on her next songs!
  16. Katy Perry's forthcoming album Smile might feature Anitta and Lali on a song titled "Champagne Problems." There's no solid proof just yet, but where there's smoke... there's fire. Also, I tend to believe it because literally everything regarding Katy's new album has hit the Internet before any official announcement (including the album title track, cover art and tracklist). I'm SUPER here for a Katy + Anitta + Lali collab. Katy aiming for a "latin hit" could be a little thirsty for a hit, but good. Give the good sis global streams. She deserves to hit the charts again. 17. Anitta is back! The Brazilian pop princess released a fiery banger titled "Tócame," featuring De La Ghetto & Arcángel. It's the first release off her forthcoming US debut album (executive produced by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder). “[It’s] reggaetón with such a sensual and irresistible rhythm,” Anitta says of the song. “The music highlights the importance of getting to know each other and understanding exactly what pleases us." She adds: “It’s the most important moment in my career,” the 27-year-old mused on signing with Warner. “I can’t wait for everyone to hear all the new music I’ve been working on, which will be a fresh blend of both Spanish and English.” Prepare to light your body up. 18. Maybe I’m not supposed to do this but I’m still going to do it (at least my Stan’s work is done) I’m going to present you Anitta, Brazilian pop sensation. She is 27. She comes from the favelas and started her career 7 years ago. She revolutionised Brazilian pop industry. Since 2017, she started an international career but she had some issues all long which lead to not being able to be successful abroad. Also, she managed her career alone with her brother. It explained why she had issues with making a name in the US. She has an upcoming song with Cardi B, J Balvin, Rosalia and apparently an American big pop star but it was delayed by Miss Rona. Here are some of her hits: 2013: her first hit song. She sampled Run the World by Beyoncé. The theme of the song is similar to Run the world. 2015: Bang. This song. This Video. This Era. Nothing else to say. Just listen and watch. 2016: Sim ou nao with Maluma. The first song which gave her a name abroad. (PS: she ****ed Maluma once so sorry not gay) 2017: The beginning of the international career. Sua Cara with Major Lazer and Brazilian drag queen Pabllo Vittar. 2017’s biggest hit in Brazil. This is my favorite song by her. 3 years later, I stil listen to it. The Checkmate era. She released a song every month for the international market. The 2 first were in English but weren’t hits. The last 2 were big hits. Downtown with J Balvin her first Latin hit. Look at her *** on this video. And gosh J Balvin is hot in this video. Vai Malandra Legendary. This is a funk (genre from the favela). It’s a stigmatised genre. The government even tried to forbid it once. This song shows the life in favela, the fun etc. Her biggest hit in Brazil. Her main goal is to have funk respected in her country and in the world. Also, listen to Bola Rebola, another funk song with J Balvin 2018: Her worst year. She was cancelled in her country for not speaking about politics, she had a depression and she divorced also. It was her worst year but she got with 2 pop latin hits, one of them Veneno 2019: The year of the featuring. She changed her strategy and wanted to release a small album to have some content for the international market + to do as many duets as possible to make a name. This is another funk song with Snoop Dog and another Brazilian singer. The first single of her album, Kisses. She had 10 songs but all different from one another. She wanted to show her versatility. Faz Gostoso with Queen Madonna. The day the song released I cried. Wow, you can’t imagine what it means to hear one of the biggest star in the world not only singing in your native tongue but also a stigmatised genre. I felt so proud and happy. Funk was finally starting to be accepted by people. What a moment. Also, the best song of Madame X. Such a shame she didn’t release it as a single. 2020, Rave da favela. For Carnival she always releases songs (best time of the year in Brazil). Also there is the competition for the Carnival hit. One of her latest collab with Major Lazer. Good song. If you want to listen to other song you can listen: Paradinha, Combatchy, Make it hot, Machika, Fuego, RIP, Terremoto If you have some questions about her let me know. Love and stream Kisses by Anitta
