Spanish music legends Ana Torroja, 61, and Alaska, 58, have finally collaborated in a new song titled Hora y Cuarto. The two singers revolutionized the music scene in the 80's both in Spain and internationally, Ana as a member of legendary band Mecano and Alaska as part of Alaska y Dinarama (later Fangoria). With their particular music style and fashion choices, they inspired many other artists that came after her in Spain and Latin America. Their songs would often touch on political issues and other topics different than the typical love or heartbreak song. Ana Torroja with her unmistakable voice, androgynous appearance and dance moves, was the face of Mecano, which songs are still remembered and played nowadays and that have been covered numerous times by other artists, and even inspired musicals such as Hoy No Me Puedo Levantar. Most of the songs written by Nacho Cano, were sung by Ana from a male perspective, adding to her ambivalent persona. It's really hard to pick Mecano songs to show, because literally all of their singles are classics. Mujer Contra Mujer is often used by the LGBTQ community, since it narrates the love story of two women. In the other hand, Alaska, originally born in Mexico as María Olvido, has always been more extravagant yet always speaking up about political issues, and has a huge following from the LGBTQ community as well. Her hits have been covered numerous times as well, and even she has re-released them over the years Despite both being from Spain and having been in the scene since the 80's, it took them almost 40 years to finally come together in a song, but I guess it's better late than never.

Alaska Thunder**** performed a Tribute show to Britney Spears fan favorite album Blackout. The show included a retelling of the events that happened leading up to blackout including meeting/falling in love with/ marrying K-fed, being chased by paparazzi, and being screwed over by Justin Timberlake. The entire album Blackout was performed by Alaska and also featured some amazing performers from the LGBT community doing the numbers Alaska used for outfit changes. She also included a section of “Deep cuts” for real Britney fans which included the 3 Song EP featuring the songs Mona Lisa, Chaotic, and Someday (I will Understand) Alaska did not disappoint with looks taken from official videos and live performances, as well as official choreography. The show closed with Alaska performing a near PERFECT rendition on Gimme More a la VMAs.
