‘Freaky’ Director Christopher Landon Calls Out Studios For Day-And-Date Releases After ‘Halloween Ends’ Box Office Results Christopher Landon is resurrecting the day-and-date release topic after initial box office results for Halloween Ends have it coming in under studio estimates. The Freaky director is calling out movie studios for releasing movies in theatres and streaming services at the same time. “Ooooooh I feel another rant coming on: Today it’s the Day & Date release strategy for Halloween Ends. Stop doing this. Please. It doesn’t work. Studios: stop gambling with filmmakers and their movies to try and prop up your fledgling streaming services,” Landon tweeted. Halloween Ends was estimated to finish off its first weekend at $55M with Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode potentially facing serial killer Michael Meyers one final time. However, as the box office results were reported, the film is expected to only make $43.4M in theatres. Landon is attributing the underwhelming results to Universal releasing the movie to Peacock subscribers on the same day as theatres. The film director recalled that he faced a similar situation when Freaky was released in 2020. “This happened to me on Freaky and it destroyed us. We worked SO HARD to make a fun movie. Blood sweat and tears. Months away from our families. And for what? They love to use the term: ‘two bites of the apple’ but that’s just another way of saying ‘we’re gonna use your movie as a Guinea pig’ for our Streaming service,” he added in a second tweet. Landon continued, “Sorry. I begged the studio not to do this. Either circle the wagons and protect it for theatrical or just go all in on streaming. Don’t split hairs. At least the Halloween folks were made whole. We got hosed. So yeah…bitter subject. PTSD.” He ended his rant by directing a note to the studios asking them to “stop trying to suck two d****s at the same time. Honor the sanctity of the theatrical experience.” It's enough to make the budget, but unfortunately Universal hasn't got with the times that the streaming release is no longer needed and hurting movie theaters, Only a small portion prefers it this way, but what does the majority matter anymore.. cater to the people who hate socializing and going out, my friend has COVID PTSD cos of lockdowns and she's dealing with it going out two to three Hours slowly working back to who she was prior to lockdown.. But I guess theater lover's don't matter anymore How about doing what Tom cruise did and threatened studio's, and stuff if they mess up his bag, Scarlett Johansson took Disney to court and they stopped. universal is hell bent on getting people to join the streaming service, my friend said, universal can rely on word of mouth, people should start showing people the content on the other streaming services their friends don't have, that's how business grows.. Thoughts on the streaming release hurts movies now..

Billboard announced that Friday was the beginning of Facebook launching music videos channels dedicated to all official acts with a blue mark, many speculate the way the labels didn't hesitate to sign deals with Facebook, the way they were with Spotify, is a sign. That if Facebook decides one day to open it's own audio streaming service. Given how globally Facebook has close to a billion daily active user's, It could very much Kill Spotify as anybody with a Facebook account is already granted Access to the streaming service. Music industry is starting to think I'd Mark Zuckerberg really wants to rule the whole social media world. An audio streaming service would be the nail on the coffin, might not for apple music. But it would kill tidal and Spotify fast. https://www.facebook.com/spicegirls.officialmusic/videos/744795296255641/?d=null&vh=e Here's Spice girls holler from their official Facebook music video channel. @Jordan Miller I really do see Mark doing this. It would be that last obstacle for him to conquer.

So, again A Big Music release is coming, but the big problem is .. Comments not available in the US, UK, and wherever it isn't Midnight locally. As we all know Australia and New Zealand are the first to get any brand new music from whatever artist. My big question is, should we stop the whole 18 different release times on digital Music and just let the physical be only on friday? I'm saying yes, it's kinda unfair, and this is why some ish leaks when it just became available in certain regions. It's easier to RIP it, then distribute it. If it's a digital release it should be available worldwide as soon as it comes live in one region.

People still listen to the Spice girls even when their debut single wannabe turns 24 next month. Even spotify declared the top streamed song of 1996 is Wannabe by The Spice girls. take that Macarena indeed. So you can still hate and laugh. But as you see. No other 90s girl group can say they actually made it into the streaming culture. Not even destiny's child is that popular on the streaming culture.

Why does Japan prefer buying CD to streaming?
CarlyRaeJepsenStan posted a topic in Music Discussions
So, Japan is the only major music market that hasn't been taken over by streaming. In Japan, people still buy album CD and even physical singles. Why is that? And why is there always a Japanese bonus track(s)? Japan really fascinates me. They seem to like short and pale women: Carly, Avril,.... (Mariah is an exception). -
