  1. Update: MTV booked her. Her Tweets worked Earlier: The sabotage She's disappointed 😔. Sounds like she's going to cry tbh
  2. Normani says "Motivation" had an impact on the music scene. "I didn't understand the impact that it had culturally and how much it created a shift in terms of what people decided that they were going to begin to create afterwards," she tells Allure in a new interview. Thoughts, Exhale?! Watch the moment unfold below: Full interview: Serving Related:
  3. Normani and Cardi B teamed up together for their new collab "Wild Side." Thoughts, Exhale?!
  4. Normani paid tribute to Aaliyah’s legacy with the release of her Cardi B assisted single, “Wild Side” and the late singer’s uncle approves of it. Barry Hankerson tells TMZ that his beloved niece “always encouraged young women pursuing their musical and entertainment careers, to achieve their dreams.” Hankerson is the founder of Blackground Records and the man to question the availability of Babygirl’s music catalog on streaming services. He added, “I believe that Aaliyah would be very supportive of a young Black woman that chose to emulate her music and style.” Barry did add that it would’ve been “more honorable” if Normani cleared the sample for “One In a Million” but he seemingly approves of it. “I will not stand in the way of something that brings to light the incredible staying power of Aaliyah. So in that light, wishing Normani well with the song and overall career. God bless. I think Aaliyah would be pleased.” An attorney for Blackground did confirm that Normani didn’t clear the sample but it’s good to know that Aaliyah’s uncle approves and so does the original producer, Timbaland, who posted a reaction video praising the record. I love Normani, but not asking the family & producer of a famous late singer's song is in bad form. I'm happy they are okay with it, but she did Team Aaliyah dirty-no respect. BUT also, it makes me wonder if she never even knew it was an Aaliyah sample on the track, hence making her a fake fan. Now I'm curious if they sue her for copyright or what? Anyways, stream and support our fave Fifth Harmony member, Normani!
  5. Barry Hankerson is suing Normani for all her money's worth cos she and her team illegally sampled one in a million on her critically acclaimed duet with Cardi B on wild side, and unless it's removed, as Barry said, Aaliyah's music can't be sampled unless it's 100 profits from songwriters even if it's the track has original lyrics. Barry is willing to take her to court to ban the track.
  6. Normani is long overdue to release her debut album. Perhaps it's now finally in the works? She Tweeted she just finished filming the most iconic **** ever, and that history is in the making. Do we believe her, Exhale? Related:
  7. This isn't new music news so feel free to delete this post if it doesn't make sense for this forum... I recently posted about being a fan of Camila, but I'm also a HUGE fan of Normani and was curious to know who else here is a fan. Ever since she performed Love Lies on the BBMA's and released the song Waves, I realized how much potential she has! I was mesmerized the first time I saw her perform on the BBMA's. The girl has a beautiful voice and is an insanely talented dancer. People compare her to Beyonce, but I don't really see it... I feel like Normani is a way better technical dancer and the choreographed routines she performs in music videos and during concerts are a lot more complex. Anyways, I'm curious to know who else here is a Normani fan and if so what's your favorite song/ video/ performance/ etc. What direction do you hope she goes with her music sound-wise? Personally, I hope she goes more in the R&B direction and less in the Pop direction. Here some of my fav moments from her if y'all care to check them out!
  8. Normani lands in the latest issue of Women's Health, and she looks radiant! I've low-key given up on waiting for her new album, so I'll stan her as a super model instead. She looks great. Thoughts, Exhale?!
  9. Ally Brooke, of Fifth Harmony, made headlines when she revealed that, at 27, she’s still a virgin. But she exclusively told Page Six that there have been temptations. “I mean it is a difficult road — especially being a young woman in the entertainment business, you’re surrounded by attractive people,” she said. “I stop the temptation by killing the mood … It’s like seeing a nice purse in the mall. You really want to buy it, but you have to save your money. So you walk around the mall thinking about the purse.” If all else fails, there’s always prayer. “Oh, God, yes. There were times when I was like, ‘Lord give me the strength to make it through this,’” she told us. But she also has a fear of dying a virgin. “I pray to God like, ‘Please don’t let me die a virgin. Let me meet my husband before that happens to me and give me a few good years with him.’” The former “X Factor” star added she wants to be married by the time she’s 30. Her memoir, “Finding Your Harmony,” is out now.
  10. Normani has yet to release her debut album, and now we know why. God hasn't told her to release it yet. In her new interview with Teen Vogue, Normani said: I’m close. When God tells me that it’s done, then it’ll be done. I’ll feel it, you know?” “There’s so much expectation that I have for myself, so adding [fans’ expectations] onto that can be a lot, but it really does motivate me,” she says. “I really want to create a body of work that’s going to count, you know? I’m never going to get my first album back.” I have fallen victim far too often to paralysis by analysis. It's this idea that you want to keep perfecting something because you want everyone to love it. So you think about it and think about it and keep working on it and keep working on it and then so much time passes and you haven't really made any forward momentum. Normani, sis. Release it Thoughts, Exhale? Related:
  11. Billboard is doing the fan army battle of 2020 which is dubbed music March madness. Madonna beat Lil Nas X, a one hit wonder basically by 52.86% of the votes went to Madonna. However, billboard is getting called out by putting an established music legend against Normani who is struggling to get established. I did vote for my girl, But I was alarmed. Madonna had close to 89% of the votes. I actually called billboard out, I said that was uncalled for. You literally set up Normani to lose. My other friends are even saying Madonna is only winning cos Billboard is putting her against artists that have yet to establish themselves, or is still seen in the case of Lil' nas X a one hit wonder, even though he's not, He is still going to be viewed and put against the success of His debut single. The longest running #1 single ever.
  12. hey guys, i was scrolling through instagram the other day and i saw that normani posted a picture AGAIN with rihanna's savagexfenty and i was wondering if anyone really cares about her as a 'singer' at this point, bc she only posts pictures with different companies like savagexfenty, urban decay cosmetics, adidas, about cameos in a music videos etc but yet nothing about HER music it's been over a year since she released motivation and since then nothing.. and to be honest i'm getting really bored of her lately i used to be so excited about her bc she has so much potential, but the fact that her team and normani acting like she has a rihanna, britney, madonna etc career status could kill me like girl you're just a new solo artist you have to build a strong fan base an iconic career.. releasing a consistent new music to attract new audience etc etc.. but that's not gonna happen with one single per year+ i'm not seeing her as an artist anymore, she's just a public figure for me who does promotional posts and cameos in music videos #sorrynotsorry and don't get me wrong guys i still like her but i got really bored of her at this point what are your thoughts guys about her? 13. Hey Exhalers, @JordanMiller Normani’s Motivation was supposed to be her big break. The intro makes me laugh now and I feel bad. Normani has BIG industry players backing her, I loved this song and follow her. I’m still shocked nothing else has been released from her. Her time is ticking. Why has she not become the world’s biggest thing yet ? She is mega talented, is she even recording new music ? i feel like she takes really long breaks for an artist that’s looking to become mainstream. The music video was beautiful and the song was great. It was a total ear worm. What a shame
  14. Normani wants to remind us she's still a recording artist. She captioned her new racy bikini pics "I swear I still make music." It's worth mentioning she said in 2018 she figured out her album's title. Here we are 2 years later and WELP.... Exhale, we thirsty for new Normani? Related:
  15. It’s official. Camila Cabellos Romance tour is CANCELLED! Multiple dates for the tour are now labelled canceled and offering patrons refunds. Case in point, the flop of pop’s planned performance at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. An official message reads: The Camila Cabello show at STAPLES Center on August 7, 2020 that was postponed on March 24th has now been cancelled. If you purchased your tickets via AXS online or by phone, a refund will automatically be issued to the credit card you used to purchase within 30 business days. Sooooo does this mean tour bundles are removed from her first week sales? If so, that means she only sold 29k first week? Bless
  16. Seeing as her solo music didn’t take off, Ally Brooke has decided to do what any other flopping 26 year old does....announces a memoir!!! You guys, how exciting!!! 🥴 A mess 🥴
  17. “All In My Head (flex)” by fifth harmony is a summer bop still. This song deserved more success. ”He Like That” deserved to be a hit also. We need a justice for fifth harmony campaign (without the racist one though)
  18. Dua Lipa and Normani join forces for a new collaboration titled "If It Ain't Me." Dua says it's coming "soon," however at the time of posting it already surfaced onto the Internet. I read a lot of people say they'd prefer to hear a version sans Normani, but I think their voices meld together pretty flawlessly. The song is upbeat and infectious. It deserved a spot on Future Nostalgia. Perhaps it'll be included on Dua's re-issue? I can't link you to the track but it's out there. Are we here for this collab, Exhale?
  19. In my opinion it would be: 1. Normani 2. Lauren Jauregui 3. Camila Cabelelo 4. Dinah Jane 5. Ally Broke Maybe in the future I would make a video explaining it better why I have ranked them like this. Feel free to write your own top 5!
  20. Lol 💀 Normani opened up to Rolling Stone recently about how Camila Cabello's racist Tumblr posts hurt her. Suddenly, a video emerges of Normani mimicking an Asian accent while her Fifth Harmony bandmate Lauren Jauregui does her nails. What do y'all think of this?
  21. Normani has faced a lot of racist hatred from darker parts of Twitter. Then there was the Camila Cabello expose - she posted a bunch of racist content on her old social media accounts pre-fame. She apologized, but people are having a hard time letting it go. There's also a fan-feud between Camila and Normani stans. Normani opened up about it in the new issue of Rolling Stone. "I want to be very clear about what I'm going to say on this uncomfortable subject and figured it would be best to write out my thoughts to avoid being misconstrued, as I have been in the past," Normani wrote in an email to the magazine. "I struggled with talking about this because I didn't want it to be a part of my narrative, but I am a black woman, who is a part of an entire generation that has a similar story." She then wrote, "I face senseless attacks daily, as does the rest of my community." "This represents a day in the life for us," she continued. "I have been tolerating discrimination far before I could even comprehend what exactly was happening. Direct and subliminal hatred has been geared towards me for many years solely because of the color of my skin. It would be dishonest if I said that this particular scenario didn't hurt me. It was devastating that this came from a place that was supposed to be a safe haven and a sisterhood, because I knew that if the tables were turned I would defend each of them in a single heartbeat. It took days for her to acknowledge what I was dealing with online and then years for her to take responsibility for the offensive tweets that recently resurfaced. Whether or not it was her intention, this made me feel like I was second to the relationship that she had with her fans." Thoughts?
  22. I really root for Normani, so this situation is a tad disconcerting. Normani performed at the AT&T pre-game show, and appeared to have vocal issues. She forgot the backing vocals to "Motivation," sounded super out of breath at times and sang off-key. There's buzz something was wrong with her in-ear monitors, but despite that she carried on. The entire performance was a disaster though. Her team ended up pulling the official videos off YouTube (including the NBA's channel). Normani fans started harassing her choreographer, who responded with a note in an Insta story (posted towards the bottom). Normani herself also posted a cryptic response that read: "it's **** u forever" Camila Cabello stans we see you
