Lynda Thomas is a Mexican singer that was very popular in the 90's, with many hits in the genre of teen pop / dance. Actually, Lynda was born in the same city I'm from She was one of the few acts that managed to survive the 90's and transition into a new sound in the 2000's. Her image and style changed for something more urban and pop/rock but she always had conflicts regarding that aspect, both internally and with label execs and the people that managed the entertainment industry that set certain standards for women, especially pop singers. Her last album was released in 2002, and ever since she basically retired, at the peak of her success. She stopped releasing music on her own or making public appearances, but she kept working behind the scenes as producer and songwriter for many of the pop bands that came out in the mid 00's, such as RBD and Kudai, but after that she simply vanished. For more than 10 years, her location was a mystery, fans and media alike ignored where she lived or if she was even alive. It wasn't until 2018 that Ari Borovoy, a former peer of hers from the Mexican music scene, contacted her to participate on the 90's Pop Tour. They convinced her to appear as a guest performer in several concerts, and ever since, she "came back" at least with a presence on social media. She's released a couple of songs in this time, including a new Christmas bop, but the projects she teased since 2018, which were a book and a new sort of album / concert with a mix of her hits reworked with new arrangements, and completely new songs that she hasn't released before, haven't come to fruition and she tends to disappear from social media for long periods of time. Yesterday she uploaded a new version of her 1999 hit Corazón Perdido This was the original version She's also announced a new single coming out this Thursday https://www.instagram.com/p/CHs-R2-Bnwi/ She obviously does all of this independently, with no association to any record label and with no intention of doing a full comeback, since she's now dedicated to her son, and I think the time she spent in the limelight really hurt her forever. These are some of her hits, where you can see the evolution she had throughout her short career: Her career is so abandoned that her official Youtube channel was mixed up with some Lynda Sherizade whoever that is
