  1. On November 17, 2003, ABC aired a special called Britney: In the Zone where Britney performed some of the tracks from her fourth studio album, as well as some of her past hits. Between the performances, we saw a few clips behind the scenes where Britney talked about her music. The setlist of the show, which was recorded in October, was: Toxic Breathe on Me Boys/I'm a Slave 4 U (I Got That) Boom Boom (with Ying Yang Twins) Everytime ...Baby One More Time Me Against the Music That night she was also on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, performing Me Against the Music. That day in the morning she also received her star on the Walk of Fame
  2. On November 12, 2003, Britney Spears released In the Zone, her fourth studio album, in the UK and Italy. It was released on November 18 in the United States. The album showed a more mature sound and image compared to her previous three records, incorporating pop, dance, hip hop, electropop and Middle Eastern influences, among other genres, and lyrically, it talks about dancing, love, *** and even mas*******n. It features collaborations with Madonna and the Ying Yang Twins. The producers that worked on this album were Bloodshy & Avant, Brian and Josh, Roy "Royalty" Hamilton, Jimmy Harry, Penelope Magnet, Moby, The Matrix, R. Kelly, Rishi Rich, Guy Sigsworth, Shep Soloman, Mark Taylor and Trixster. Britney co-wrote all but 4 songs. She started recording the album in November 2002 after her Dream Within a Dream Tour finished, being Touch of My Hand the first song she recorded, and the one that set the tone for the rest of the album. She then continued with the Everytime sessions, which she co-wrote with her backup vocalist Annet Artani (Annette Stamatelatos). Annet confirmed another song Shine which was about Britney's sister Jamie Lynn, but that song didn't make the cut. It was precisely these two songs which she mentioned on an interview for hip to be the most personal of the album for her: "I really love the vibe of “Touch of My Hand.” When I was in the studio it really came off as like such a natural process. And I love the subject that, you know, I’m touching on because no one’s really talked about some of those things in a lot of songs written lately because people are scared to go there and to express themselves in that way. And, you know, I think it’s an empowering thing for girls, you know. And “Everytime” is just a really nice song because it’s just, you know, it’s kind of personal in a weird way. I just think the song — it’s one of the songs that when you hear, it’s like the kind of song when you go to heaven. It kind of takes you away. You know, it takes you in to a very cool consciousness I think." However she also noticed that every song from the album is a representation of her in some way: "I think every song. I mean you have to go through experiences in your life and go through day-to-day things to be able to write songs and to be able to express yourself and have something to be inspired to write about. So I think every song is a representation of me and like an art form. But it’s not completely too personal. Sometimes I write about fictitious things. You know, like I’ll make up a story in my head about someone going through an issue in life and I’ll be in the studio and we’ll have chemistry with people and we’ll go from there. So I think all of the songs are a representation of me." When asked about her contributions in the lyrics and music of the album she commented: "Well the main thing — like with “Everytime” I wrote the whole thing from scratch on the piano. Musically there was no track or anything. I was just at my house and I did the whole thing by myself. And then I went and I played it for (Guy Sigmouth) and I just basically told him exactly how I wanted the song to sound. And he was so amazing because there’s a lot of producers you tell them things and they don’t get it. And you’re like oh, that’s not the right way. He got it just right. He was amazing. And so that song specifically, you know, I did everything. But as far as like, you know, the other songs I would go in to the studio and they would play me just a bunch of different tracks. And I would pick a track that I liked. And then I would basically do the melodies and the words and they would do the tracks. And like if I heard sounds here or there,in my head that thought should be there, they would elaborate on. And if they wanted streams here, and more of a baseline here they would do it. So that’s kind of how it worked. But musically, I didn’t do a lot of the tracks. That’s something that I really want to probably learn on the next album. But for the most part I did most of the melody and just the words." Four singles were released in total to promote the album: Me Against the Music, Toxic, Everytime and Outrageous. Additionally, The Onyx Hotel Tour kicked off in 2004 in order to support In the Zone. The songs that appear on the album across its different versions are Me Against the Music (featuring Madonna) (I Got That) Boom Boom (featuring Ying Yang Twins) Showdown Breathe on Me Early Mornin' Toxic Outrageous Touch of My Hand The Hook Up Shadow Brave New Girl Everytime Me Against the Music (featuring Madonna) (Rishi Rich's Desi Kulcha Remix) The Answer Don't Hang Up The album went #1 on the US Billboard 200, as well as the Mexican, French and Greek charts. It was also Top 10 in almost every country it charted. A fan favorite album, it's sold over 7 million copies worldwide. In 2019, it was sold as a vinyl for the first time through Urban Outfitters. It has over 1.1 billion streams on Spotify. In May 2003, she had shown a little teaser for the album on MTV: Besides the televised performances, including an ABC special, she also promoted the album at nightclubs.

  4. I never understood why the Britney army likes Touch of My Hand so much I think it's a good song but not anything special and In The Zone had a lot of better songs
  5. Apparently Britney co-wrote and recorded this song and it was her favourite but was left unreleased. Do you wanna hear her version?
  6. Written by Michelle Bell, Jonback and Bloodshy & Avant, Spin the Record is a ref track by the disbanded group "Melodi Brown" who got considered during the sessions for In the Zone. The track was recorded along other demos like Crazy Things and Do Somethin. The latter actually got performed on a few UK festivals before the group's disbandment. Michelle Bell confirmed the ref track through Twitter, along several others (It's My Life/Crazy Things/Spin the Record/Under the Pressure/Outta Here). BritneyOnline
  7. On May 10, 2004, Britney Spears released Everytime, the third single off her In the Zone album. Recorded in November 2002, the ballad was co-written between Britney and former backup singer Annet Stamatelatos (now known as Annet Artani). Britney composed the melody, and the production was in charge of Guy Sigsworth. Everytime went #1 in the UK, Australia, Hungary, Scotland and Ireland, and was Top 5 in almost every other country it charted, including the US Mainstream Top 40, though it only peaked at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song evokes a feeling of sadness through its lyrics, with which Britney is asking her lover to forgive her "... my weakness caused you pain and this song's my sorry". She also describes the suffering she goes through because of his absence with lyrics such as "I make-believe that you are here; it's the only way that I see clear". According to Annet in an interview for Muumuse, Britney and her forged a friendship after the Dream Within a Dream Tour ended in the summer of 2002. When she broke up with her boyfriend, she was supported by Britney, who had also gone through a very public breakup a few months prior. "Basically, we commiserated because she, at that time, had broken up with Justin [Timberlake]. Maybe like nine months before, but of course it was really fresh in the media. I was just breaking up with this guy, so we kind of like—I think we kind of needed each other." In October of that year, Britney Spears appeared at the Versace Fashion Show during the Milan Fashion Week. The house Annet mentions is Donatella Versace's, as Britney explained in this interview: Britney even mentions going back to L.A. to "record a little bit" after the fashion week. In the Muumuse interview, Annet suggests that the song was in a way a response to Justin Timberlake's infamous single Cry Me a River: However, in an interview for MTV, Britney denied these rumors, which existed even before the song came out, saying "You know, it's funny," she said. "I read that I wrote this song and I wrote these lyrics, and that's not my style. I would never do that." "Sometimes when I get kind of bored, I come behind here and play the piano. There's a piano in the hotel room, so I was really excited. I don't know what 'C' is or, like, all that, but I do my own thing." In an interview for Hip Online, when describing her involvement in the lyrical content of the album, Britney talked about Everytime and Guy Sigsworth as a producer: Britney performed the song several times on television shows, as well as various of her tours. The very first time, was at Saturday Night Live on October 18, 2003. She's performed it at her Onyx Hotel Tour, the Circus Starring Britney Spears and Britney: Piece of Me. Several remixes were released for the song, including the Hi-Bias Remix, the Valentin Remix, the Above & Beyond's Mix, among others. In 2018, Britney Spears received the Gold and Platinum songwriting credits award for Work *****, Everytime and Make Me... Last month, we celebrated the anniversary of the David LaChapelle-directed music video for the song, which was released on April 12:
  8. New Cathy Dennis demo that’s rumoured for britney’s in the zone album. It’s produced by bloodshy & Avant
  9. Music director Simon Ellis talks about how touch of my hand was added to the circus tour in 2009. Simon says it was on a B list because crowds only appreciated it in certain places around the world and that it wasn’t meant to be apart of the main set list. It’s possible that Britney requested it herself
  10. These two songs were written by Britney, Michelle bell & Larry Gates in 2003 for In The Zone but didn’t make the cut. Both songs were done in the same session & sonically share the s**y Spanish guitar sound which complements Britney’s voice very well. Which song do you prefer? Also We still need Peep Show in full 🙏
  11. On April 12, 2004, the Everytime music video premiered on TRL. It was the third video to promote In the Zone, Britney's fourth studio album. It was filmed on March 13 and 14 in Los Angeles and it was directed by David LaChapelle, who had photographed her in 1999 for the Rolling Stone magazine. The video features Britney and her love interest (Stephen Dorff) arriving at a hotel in Las Vegas inside a limousine. They seem distant, and when Britney tries to touch him while he talks on the phone, he pushes her away . They're received by a crowd of paparazzi and fans, making them struggle to walk by, but they eventually make their way, entering from the backdoor of the hotel, after Britney's boyfriend had thrown some magazines to the paps. They keep arguing as they reach their room, where Britney gets in the bathtub while her boyfriend stays in the couch. As she touches her head while lying in the bathtub, she notices that there's blood from a wound she got at the beginning of the video, when a paparazzo accidentally hit her with a camera. She then loses consciousness and drowns. From here we see intercut scenes of Britney running in a hospital hallway and her boyfriend rescuing her from the bathtub. We see her being carried into an ambulance surrounded by the paparazzi, and the doctors trying to resuscitate her at the hospital. Her ghost or spirit is seeing herself in the bed, and when she walks to the next room, she sees a baby being born. At the end we see her rising from under the water in the bathtub and smiling, suggesting it was all a dream or fantasy. Before the video was shot, MTV news obtained a treatment of the video, which involved a cup of wine and a bottle of pills in the bathtub scene. She was supposed to die and be seen in the end walking past the paparazzi, who wouldn't notice her ghost. However, it received a lot of criticism from the public who accused Britney of "glorifying suicide". Britney, through her record label, decided against this treatment, clarifying it was not meant to be a suicide, but an accidental death, and that the treatment would be revised. The day of the premiere, Britney called the show and explained the concept of reincarnation of the video. She added "It's more like a movie. It's different than anything I've ever done. It's dark, and it shows me in a different light. Of course, I'm going to go back and do dance videos, but I wanted to be inspired and challenged." The video went #1 a few times on TRL countdown, and in MTV Latin America, it landed at #37 in the yearly Top 100 of 2004. In 2018, it became Britney's 15th video to surpass 100M views on YouTube. In May, she appeared on UK's TRL, where she clarified again the video wasn't about suicide, but that even if it were, it should be taken in a positive light by the parents, in order to raise awareness since the suicide rates were at their highest. She also talked about David LaChapelle, and played Rock, paper, scissors against her past self. On her Greatest Hits: My Prerogative, an alternative cut of the video was released, including some outtakes:
  12. On this sticker on the ITZ CD, it mentions the song Breathe On Me as a single after Everytime. From 2003 up until 2018 Breathe on me was given the single treatment by being given promo performances for the album and included in almost every Britney live show, possibly by Britney request as she stated on multiple occasions that it’s one of her favourite songs. In 2016, Britney would shoot and post a black and white video for the song on her Instagram.
  13. Completely forgot i've had this file in my pc for years and decided to upload it just recently. I bet this is the music that plays while entering in Heaven, tbh.
  14. hey guys check out this sick piano version of 'everytime' https://vm.tiktok.com/ZTdD41ofx/?k=1
  15. Under the pressure was written and produced by Michelle bell and bloodshy & avant. It’s definitely another Justin timberlake clap back similar to look who’s talking now that was also written by the same team.apparently Britney didn’t record all of it but Check out Michelle’s demo
  16. SHE'S GONNA STEP OUTSIDE UNCOVER HER EYES WHO KNEW SHE COULD FEEL SO ALIVE A couple of fun facts: The track is also the title of a 2004 movie inspired by Britney and her mother's joint book 'A Mother's Gift': And, Britney herself recently revealed on IG that the robotic voice on the bridge actually says "I JUST KEEP ON RUNNING" Last, but not least, here it is Britney bopping to BNG during an MTV's Special for ITZ aired in 2003 starting from minute 3:48: So yeah, in 2022, the right thing to do, is to stan Brave New Girl!
  17. On March 02, 2004 The Onyx Hotel Tour kicked off in San Diego, in order to support Britney Spears' fourth album In the Zone. Britney visited America and Europe with it and and showed a more mature and adult side of her in comparison to her previous tours. With 54 concerts in total, 616,887 in attendance, a box office of U$35.3M, The Onyx Hotel Tour would be her last stadium concert before marrying Kevin and becoming a mom the following year, and eventually put under a conservatorship against her will in 2008. Originally planned as "The In the Zone Tour" (later changed due to a lawsuit filed for trademark infringement) it was announced in December 2003. The tour extended through June 06, when it was abruptly cancelled after she injured her knee on the set of the Outrageous music video, after suffering another injury onstage in March while performing (I Got That) Boom Boom in Illinois. It was intended to end in August, and in total 40 shows were cancelled. The setlist was comprised mostly of tracks from the album In the Zone, with only some of her classic hits making the cut, two of which, ...Baby One More Time and Oops!... I Did It Again, were reworked in a Cabaret style. The majority of the show is focused on dancing and sensual performances, but two moments stand out during the concert, the ballads Everytime, performed with Britney playing the piano, and Shadow. Divided in seven segments that narrate the story within the Onyx Hotel, these were the songs performed on the tour: Toxic Overprotected Boys Showdown ...Baby One More Time Oops!... I Did It Again (You Drive Me) Crazy Everytime The Hook Up I'm a Slave 4 U Shadow Touch of My Hand Breathe on Me Outrageous (I Got That) Boom Boom Me Against the Music In an interview for the Associated Press, she explained the meaning behind the onyx stone and the hotels in her life, as well as what the public could expect from the show: MTV was a big supporter of the tour, doing several special shows to promote it. Thanks to Britney Online @CJMCH we just got this backstage at Fresno from TRL in high quality There was also the longer MTV special Road to Miami Besides the show from Miami in March, the one at Rock in Rio Lisboa was also broadcasted in June, and it was reported by MTV that a reality show was being produced to document the backstage of the European leg, which would be later reworked into what ended up being Britney & Kevin: Chaotic.
  18. Deleting Petition FEB 20, 2022 — Since this song was co-written with Wade Robson, this petition is no longer going to continue and also, it's better to focus on future songs. You make petitions like this when you're young, which I did, and it's time to wipe it off the face of the internet. ☺️ So I created this petition before I joined BreatheHeavy, but because of the #FreeBritney Movement and me finally joining my go-to Britney news source discussion forum, I want to see if you guys and gals seeing this might get this Wish to come true like we did #FreeBritney. I know it's wishful thinking, but you never know. Back in 2012, she responded to a fan's tweet asking about it with: Sign the petition to reunite Carole Bayer-Sager and Britney Spears to make more music together. But if you guys really think this is a ridiculous ask that I should remove from the internet because it's embarrasing, please let me know. It's just such a good song. But maybe I should change the petition to just getting them to reunite. Chime in in the comments. ❤️
  19. How much of an impact would these Timberlake clapback songs have in pop culture if Britney released them on ITZ? Britney wrote Look Who's Talking Now and Sweet Dreams was written by Cathy Dennis. Comment below which your prefer and would they have the same critical response as Everytime?
  20. On January 12, 2004, Britney Spears released Toxic, the second single off her fourth studio album In the Zone. The dance-pop anthem with Bollywood influences was produced by Bloodshy & Avant and it went on to become one of the most recognizable tracks by Britney Spears among the general public. On January 13, the music video for the song, directed by Joseph Kahn, premiered on MTV's episode of Making the Video, which later debuted on TRL two days later. Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg (aka Bloodshy & Avant) co-wrote the track along with Cathy Dennis and Henrik Jonback. The techno-pop song with elements of bhangra music incorporates instrumentation such as drums, synthesizers, violins and surf guitar, as well as the iconic strings that were sampled from the Hindi song Tere Mere Beech Mein from the Bollywood film Ek Duuje Ke Liye (1981). Cathy Dennis revealed in 2020 that the song was originally created with Janet Jackson in mind, but she couldn't finish it in time during their time together: The song was later offered to Kylie Minogue, which had already recorded other songs made by Dennis, such as Come into My World, and most notably, Can't Get You Out of My Head. However, the Australian diva passed on the song. Side note: Can't Get You Out of My Head was also rejected by S Club 7 and Sophie Ellis-Bextor before it went to Kylie. But before Britney could take the song for her, Sarah Whatmore almost got away with Toxic, as she revealed in 2017: Britney recorded the song in Sweden in 2003. In December of that year, MTV reported that Toxic would be released as the follow-up single to Me Against the Music, after trying to choose between (I Got That) Boom Boom and Outrageous: Britney has stated in numerous occasions that Toxic is one of her favorite songs. It won a Grammy for Best Dance Recording. It peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100, but it went #1 on the Dance Club Songs, Mainstream Top 40 and Hot Digital Tracks charts. It was also #1 on many international charts, such as European Hot 100, UK, Australia, Canada among others, and it was Top 10 in almost every other country it charted. It's been recognized as one of the best songs of the 2000's by different publications like Rolling Stone and NME. In 2021, Toxic surpassed the 500 million streams on Spotify. Britney has performed Toxic on many tv shows during the promotion of the single, as well as in the 2016 performances. She's also performed the song on every tour/residency she's had ever since The Onyx Hotel Tour in 2004. The Music Video The music video for Toxic was directed by Joseph Kahn, who had previously worked with her for the Stronger video in 2000. Toxic was the most expensive video of hers at the time, at the cost of $1 million. In the video Britney plays a secret agent that starts disguised as a flight attendant. She takes a passenger to the bathroom and kisses him, peels off his mask and takes from him a pass that helps her later to steal a bottle of green poison (she's a red-head by this point of the video). After escaping the vault where the poison was, she has to evade a laser trap with a series of complicated moves, including a back handspring. She then climbs up a building, now as a brunette, to enter the room of her cheating boyfriend. She throws him to the floor, kisses him and pours the poison in his mouth. She escapes through the balcony, and we see her again in the airplane with her flight attendant outfit, as she winks to the camera. Throughout the video, we also see scenes of her where she's naked, and only covered in diamonds. Britney told MTV Joseph Kahn also talked to MTV in 2009: In 2021 the choreographer of the video and long-time collaborator of Britney, Brian Friedman, confessed he was the one that came up with the concept of the video, despite Britney and Joseph Kahn saying otherwise all these years: Joseph Kahn only tweeted After the premiere of Toxic on Making the Video, the video debuted on TRL the following day. In 2004 it was nominated at the VMA's for Video of the Year, Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Best Dance Video, but didn't win any of the awards The video is her second most watched solo video on YouTube, where it's about to hit the 500M mark, and the iconic flight attendant outfit is set to receive its own Funko figure.
  21. She used to be very talented at piano, It's a shame she doesn't play anymore, not that she shows us with the one that's in her hallway but it's clear that she passed down the keys onto her son Jayden, who's also just as gifted, if not a genius.
  22. "Sippin' On" is so 90s R&B. I just discovered this unreleased masterpiece today and I'm gonna have it on repeat all week long. Britney has a nice voice that suits this 90s R&B sound. I've always loved R&Bney "Sippin' On" has two different versions. One solo intended for In The Zone and a remix with NYC rapper AC which was also intended for Blackout. Team Con and Jive made so many mistakes I would love Britney to continue the mature urban sound Glory revived in her while having some Pop bangers as well for B10. I'm so thirsty for B10 Which version of "Sippin On" do you prefer?
  23. Hi! Well, my plan is to buy all of Britney's music albums. Some of them are hard to buy in my country now and you have to use auction websites. As I don't have 'In the Zone' (...yet ), I was looking for it on the site. And I saw this: (I hope these photos are not copyrighted or smth, I'm just curious what I found on the Internet, lol) ...and I was like: 'What the heck is this?' I asked the seller and he told me it was the Russian version. I searched the Internet about it and actually found this 'Russian version' on cassette, on EBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/184455530535 I'm really confused right now. Even if it's a fake, the back cover and the print of Britney's face on CD ...are kinda impressive, not gonna lie. Do you know something about this Russian version? Are there other 'local' versions of Britney's other albums? I'm new to this forum and I wanted to share my find with you :3
  24. On November 10, 2003, Queen of Pop Britney Spears performed at New York's Times Square two of her new songs to promote her upcoming album In the Zone: Me Against the Music and (I Got That) Boom Boom featuring the Ying Yang Twins, as part of TRL's Spankin New Music Week. Later that night, she attended the Glamour Magazine's Women of the Year Awards, where she received none other than the Woman of the Year Award. Not only that, but judging by the candids of that day, it seems like she also had an interview with MTV Hits that same day (was she a robot or what ) or she just dressed the same Earlier that day, she was also seen doing some shopping in New York
  25. I'm twerkin to this right now This performance slays all the Pop heauxes Let's bop to this and Outrageous this weekend
