  2. Do you agree? “With record-setting, boundary-breaking careers as an actor, dancer and GRAMMY-nominated singer, Jennifer Lopez is arguably the most influential Latin entertainer of all time.” Article here: Grammys
  3. When I was watching the Grammys I got bored after only watching 30 minutes I felt like I was watching someone say who the winner is and the winner gives a speech with some performances (some good some boring) But the VMAs were really exciting the place was really cool the artists there were more well known The beggining with Jack Harlow in the airplane, Johny Depp was the moon guy, Nicki Minaj slayed, Avril Lavigne was there The whole show felt energtic
  4. EGOT: a person who was recognized with an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. You can find the only 16 EGOT here: EGOT The Grammys are adding more categories for the next year ceremony. The new awards being recognized at the 65th Grammys are: Songwriter of the Year (Non-Classical), Best Alternative Music Performance, Best Americana Performance, Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media, and Best Spoken Word Poetry Album. Plus, there will also be a new special merit award given out for Best Song for Social Change. Here’s the Recording Academy statement: Read the full article here: EW

  7. Per Deadline: Kanye West has apparently been pulled from a planned live performance at the upcoming Grammy Awards with one report in Variety quoting his represenative as saying the action was taken because of “concerning online behavior.” The 64th Grammy Awards will be held April 3 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, with Trevor Noah again acting as host. CBS will broadcast the event live and stream live and on demand on Paramount+. West is nominated for five Grammy Awards. West’s erratic behavior has escalated lately, with his latest incident targeting Noah with a racial slur for defending West’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, and urging West to seek help for his admitted mental health problems. West was banned from Instagram for 24 hours earlier this week because of his inflammatory postings. Rapper The Game, a West collaborator, seemed to confirm West’s ban Friday by posting about it to Instagram. However, he blamed “disrespect” to Black entertainers as the reason for West no longer performing. “Time & time again they show us that they only want to STEAL the culture, not allow you to ever be their equals. In a more than obvious move for reasons of minuscule actions…. The Grammys have at the last minute decided to pull (Kanye West) from performing on the show as if we didn’t know it was coming. Could be because (Trevor Noah) is hosting and there was a conversation held amongst his team & the academy that led to the decision or because Ye’s account was suspended just days ago for reasons unknown, especially in a world where all the negativities of the world can be found on the same app with no repercussions or suspensions…. We’ll just say it’s all of the above & a continuous disrespect for us & all that we have brought to the table in entertainment, media & sports over the last 100 years especially.” CBS and West’s representative were contacted by Deadline for comment, but have not yet responded.
  8. On February 23, 2000, the 42nd Grammy Awards were held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Santana was the biggest winner of the night, and also performed there with Rob Thomas. Other performers of the night were Whitney Houston, Elton John, Backstreet Boys, TLC, Ricky Martin, Will Smith, among others. Britney Spears was also there to perform a medley of From the Bottom of My Broken Heart and ...Baby One More Time. Britney got two nominations that night. She was nominated for Best New Artist along with Kid Rock, Macy Gray and Susan Tedeschi but Christina Aguilera was the winner. Her debut single ...Baby One More Time was also nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, but lost to I Will Remember You by Sarah McLachlan. The other nominees were Genie in a Bottle by Christina Aguilera, Beautiful Stranger by Madonna and Thank U by Alanis Morissette. Britney at the pre-Grammy party with her mom: Red carpet: Rehearsals:
  9. There's been a lot of talk about ARTPOP recently. Little Monsters are campaigning for Gaga to release a sequel. She actually addressed the chatter recently. The movement gained so much momentum that the record hit #1 on iTunes worldwide. Vulture wrote an article about it and suggests the album would probably win a Grammy in 2021. I have to stan and agree, however I'm wondering if you agree? Do you think ARTPOP was ahead of it's time (like Bionic )? Or should we leave it in 2013. Thoughts, Exhale? Related:

  13. Taylor Swift - Billboard's highest earning musician of 2020 - will not be submitting Fearless (Taylor Swift version) to be nominated for the Grammys or the Country Music Awards. According to Billboard, Taylor cited that the album is already the most awarded country album of all time, having won album of the year in both ceremonies in 2009 and 2010. The article goes on to mention that the focus of the fans should be to vote for Evermore after the Grammys rule change for the Major Four categories. You can find the full article here. I am not sure if Taylor would have taken this decision if the Grammys did not change the policies for the Major Four categories, but it is a smart move anyway. Side note - I am here for Evermore winning Album of the Year in 2022! What do you guys think?
  14. Billboard wants to know who you think should be nominated for album of the year at the 2022 Grammys. The list includes. "El Ultimo Tour Del Mundo," Bad Bunny "Justice," Justin Bieber "The Album," Blackpink "Be," BTS "Heart & Soul," Eric Church "Plastic Hearts," Miley Cyrus "Chemtrails Over the Country Club," Lana Del Rey "Medicine at Midnight," Foo Fighters "Positions," Ariana Grande "Bridges," Mickey Guyton "KG0516," Karol G "In the Heights" soundtrack "Khaled Khaled," DJ Khaled "Heaven & Hell," Ava Max "McCartney III," Paul McCartney "Good News," Megan Thee Stallion "Wonder," Shawn Mendes "Tickets to My Downfall," MGK "NCT Resonance Part 1," NCT "Collapsed in Sunbeams," Arlo Parks "Letter to You," Bruce Springsteen "Evermore," Taylor Swift "Fearless (Taylor's Version)," Taylor Swift Other: Who will you be voting for? 15. Despite having some of the best-charting music of all time, The Weeknd was iced out of the 2021 Grammys. That was, in part, because of the Recording Academy's secret committee. In an effort to become more transparent, the RA announced they're getting rid of them. The Weeknd is like “The trust has been broken for so long between the Grammy organization and artists that it would be unwise to raise a victory flag,” he tells Variety. He won't be submitting his music in the future for consideration. However, he does say that the move is “an important start.” “I think the industry and public alike need to see the transparent system truly at play for the win to be celebrated, but it’s an important start,” he continues. “I remain uninterested in being a part of the Grammys, especially with their own admission of corruption for all these decades. I will not be submitting in the future.” Tbh I see where he's coming from. The RA is hanging on by a thread Related:
  16. So this is what it reminded me of...
