  1. On September 28 2010, "Britney/Brittany", the second episode of Glee's Season 2, premiered on Fox. It paid tribute to Britney Spears and Britney herself made several cameo appearances throughout the whole episode. The storyline focuses on the character Brittany and her classmates having anesthesia-induced hallucinations while visiting the dentist, and in them they recreate Britney's most iconic moments of her career. A total of five Britney Spears songs were performed on the episode. All of them were released as singles and they all managed to appear on the Billboard Hot 100: ...Baby One More Time (#54) Stronger (#53) I'm a Slave 4 U (#52) Me Against the Music (#56) Toxic (#16) With these songs, plus a cover of Paramore's The Only Exception, the Glee cast surpassed The Beatles as the non-solo act with the most appearances in the chart's history, and became the third one overall at the time, only behind Elvis Presley's 108 appearances and James Brown's 91 (they were eventually surpassed by Drake). In 2020, Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz talked about the episode on their podcast Showmance: Glee Recap Edition, joined by Heather Morris. Among other things, they described the mystery surrounding Britney's scenes, as well as the safety measures "her team" took, such as having everyone wear wristbands to prove they were part of the show, or telling Heather not to talk to Britney because "she was working". ‎Showmance: Glee Recap Edition with Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz: S2 E2 Britney/Brittany with Heather Morris! on Apple Podcasts REDIRECT.VIGLINK.COM ‎Show Showmance: Glee Recap Edition with Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz, Ep S2 E2 Britney/Brittany with Heather Morris! - Jul 9, 2020

  4. Update: Lea is now being accused of being transphobic by transgender actress Plastic Martyr. Update: Lea Michelle has issued an apology. Michele says while she does not remember making the specific remarks that Ware says she made, that is "not really the point." "What matters is that I clearly acted in ways which hurt other people," Michele tells People, explaining the importance of listening and learning from those who she might have hurt in the past. "One of the most important lessons of the last few weeks is that we need to take the time to listen and learn about other people's perspectives and any role we have played or anything we can do to help address the injustices that they face," Michele says. "When I tweeted the other day, it was meant to be a show of support for our friends and neighbors and communities of color during this really difficult time," she says, referring to her May 29 tweet in support of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement. She continues: "but the responses I received to what I posted have made me also focus specifically on how my own behavior towards fellow cast members was perceived by them." "While I don’t remember ever making this specific statement and I have never judged others by their background or color of their skin, that’s not really the point," Michele's statement continues. "What matters is that I clearly acted in ways which hurt other people." "Whether it was my privileged position and perspective that caused me to be perceived as insensitive or inappropriate at times or whether it was just my immaturity and me just being unnecessarily difficult, I apologize for my behavior and for any pain which I have caused. We all can grow and change and I have definitely used these past several months to reflect on my own shortcomings." "I am a couple of months from becoming a mother and I know I need to keep working to better myself and take responsibility for my actions, so that I can be a real role model for my child and so I can pass along my lessons and mistakes, so that they can learn from me," she concludes. "I listened to these criticisms and I am learning and while I am very sorry, I will be better in the future from this experience." Earlier: Lea Michelle is in hot water after she showed support for George Floyd. Michelle's Glee co-star, Samantha Ware, who played one of the new Glee members in the last season, claims Michelle bullied her. Their co-stars even started chiming in. I'm surprised cause I was always under the impression Lea Michelle was sweet. What do I know. Tweets below:
