  1. Who? Nowadays, after urban music has taken over the mainstream radio and became the biggest force when it comes to streaming in Latin America, it's hard to imagine that at some point the Pop genre used to rule the music scene. In the last half of the 00's, RBD was the Mexican band that helped to popularize the teen pop and pop/rock genre even more, and after they disbanded in 2009, no pop act enjoyed a similar level of success as theirs, and then reggaeton and urban music in general took over. In January 2008 they released Empezar Desde Cero, the second single off their fifth studio album of the same name, released in 2007. An extra cheesy and more bubblegum-pop-ish compared to the rest of their discography, it was chosen by the fans as the next single and it has the particular distinction that is mainly sung by Maite Perroni, a member of the band that wasn't featured a lot in most of the songs throughout their different albums, since she didn't really have a singing background as Anahí or Dulce María did. After many years since their music was wiped out of music streaming services, due to legal issues with the owners of the group's rights and the record label, their music catalog was finally made available last week, on Spotify, Apple Music and especially YouTube, where they uploaded lyric videos for all of their songs, as well as the official music videos (some were uploaded, while others were unlocked). One of the missing videos though, was Empezar Desde Cero, which has been uploaded today in high quality. To most of you, RBD might be unfamiliar if you're not used to listen to music in Spanish, and even more a group that's been disbanded for more than a decade, but if you really like pop music, make sure to give it a try: They have a strong fanbase, that is still alive after all these years, and they were the main ones that kept asking for their catalogue to be available again. Last week, they even broke some records on Spotify, with no other promotion than some small Twitter clips made by their members: I miss my teenage years
  2. As you know, RBD's catalogue arrived to Spotify, Itunes and other streaming platforms few days ago. Well, after 12 years of the band's split, RBD has broken records. Suprassed BTS's record as the most followed playlist in 24 hours. "THIS IS RBD" got 175,000 followers in less than 24 hours. BTS's record was 125,000. Right now, the playlist got 280,000 followers in less than 48 hours. The song 'Sálvame' got 12M streaming in only 45 minutes. RBD's albums has been charting in Itunes' top 50 and top 20. (Latin American and Europe) They did not promo for this comeback and they were banned from radio back in the day. THE IMPACT IS REAL! All of their albums are on physical formats in mexican stores again. Next 4th, October, 2020, the band will be making a special annoucement to all their fans around the world. Register on https://seroparecer.world/ and be ready to be part of this new era of RBD. It's rumoured to be a new worldwide tour or virtual concert. I'm not gonna lie, I'm so excited! Even Billboard is excited... https://newsroom.spotify.com/2020-09-03/rbd-the-global-pop-phenomenon-brings-its-entire-catalog-to-spotify/ You can listen to the playlist here:
