  1. I can’t with the shoulder pads. Like ma’am that’s a whole body suit
  2. On August 24, 1999, Christina Aguilera released her self-titled debut album, Christina Aguilera. Following her 1998 song Reflection, the theme song for Mulan, and her first single Genie in a Bottle, released in June, the album incorporates dance-pop and teen-pop genres, much like her contemporaries. It included the collaboration of producers David Frank, Ron Fair, Guy Roche, Robin Thicke, Diane Warren, Matthew Wilder, and Aaron Zigman. Several of the songs would later receive a Spanish adaptation for her second studio album Mi Reflejo, released the following year. The album debuted at #1 on the US Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 253,000 copies, and earned her a Grammy for Best New Artist in 2000. It's been certified 8x Platinum and it's sold more than 14 million copies worldwide. Four singles were released to promote this record: Genie in a Bottle, What a Girl Wants (the first song to top the BBH100 in the 2000's), I Turn to You and Come on Over Baby (All I Want Is You).
  3. On August 28, 2003, the VMA's were hosted at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City. To open the show, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera performed together Madonna's classic hit Like a Virgin, and were later joined by Madonna herself to perform Hollywood. In the middle of the performance, Madonna kissed Britney and then Christina, going down in history as one of the most iconic moments of the VMA's and awards shows in general. Missy Elliott then appeared onstage to perform her song Work It, and then the four together will close the performance with Hollywood again. Sadly, MTV's YouTube channel has made the official video private amid the upcoming 2020 ceremony, so here's another low quality version of the performance: Britney also had a nomination that night for Best Video from a Film, for Boys (Co-Ed Remix) ft. Pharrell Williams, but lost to Eminem's Lose Yourself.
  4. Well RCA records show love to an actual artist that is signed to them since the 90s, and it's actually been Christina's label since day one, not a pick up contract since a label shut down and for once they show love to someone that isnt P!NK. Congrats Christina Aguilera. her 2006 album "Back to Basics" and the Grammy award winner for best pop vocal at the 49th Annual Grammy awards in 2007, Ain't no other man, are both double platinum by the RIAA, so at this point, Liberation will be gold soon.
  5. So ever since Christina Aguilera released her public statement in support of Britney, I’ve done my due diligence and streamed her music to support. Tell me why both these songs are now stuck in my head more often than not!? Am I turning into a Fighter? Discuss.
  6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoqz1wlUdi4
  7. Whenever I listen to "Fallin' "by Alicia Keys, I hear Christina Aguilera's voice during the second verse. Here is a filtered acapella of the song and I keep hearing her voice between 1.04 and 1.11 (especially the "yeaa yeaa").
  8. Record labels for decades, pitted artists against each other, and fanbase's were left to decide who they wanted to rep. So my question is concerning 2020's- we have teen queens but no rivalries in the same way have in the past. Are the record label's educed comparisons over, or are teen artists for the time being, just not prevalent? Or are there other reason this generation doesn't have a two girl rivalry? 1980's Debbie Gibson and Tiffany 1990's Brandy and Monica Early 2000's Britney & Christina Aguilera Mid to late 2000's Hilary and Lindsay Lohan 2010's Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus 2020's ...Who? Billie Eilish versus Olivia Rodrigo? Billie and Oliva do not talk crap on eachother and the media doesnt pit them against eachother even tho they both do alternative/rock/pop music and are 18 and 19. They are the biggest teen singers right now but the media hasn't pitted them against eachother like they have with other young female singers before. So do you think the media are done making rivalries? Can and SHOULD women that may appear to be in the same lane, be able to be just as successful as their "rival"?
  9. Another great and thrilling addition to the Scream Franchise starring some of the brilliant pop musicians who has impacted pop culture worldwide! Trailer coming out very soon, stay tuned. ❤️ Don't forget to share it with your friends, we are overwhelmed with response and we think this movie will be greater than Avengers Endgame in box office scores. ☺️
  10. I know this article is from *another time* (early January 2004) when sl**-shaming and the patriarchy were not widely discussed concepts, but oof...it reads as so bonkers today. Basically the article suggests that ***ual explicitness by female artists is one of the reasons for declining sales. Here's a screenshot of the article when it was in print. A condensed version can be read here. I just had to round up the most hilarious quotes: Why would Alicia Keys and Norah Jones be "vamping it up" when they were in different genres? Never mind that Britney and Xtina co-wrote/produced multiple tracks on ITZ and Stripped. Wasn't Slave 4 U during the time Clear Channel wasn't playing her songs? And yeah she would be more "wholesome" during BOMT because she was just 16 then.
  11. Bionic is Christina Aguilera's sixth studio album. It was released on June 4, 2010. The album debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200 and number one in the UK. It has sold over 1.15 million tracks in the United States and is certified Gold. The album produced four singles "Not Myself Tonight," "Woohoo," "You Lost Me" and " I Hate Boys." However, only "Not Myself Tonight" and "You Lost Me" had music videos recorded and "I Hate Boys" was released exclusively in Oceania. Bionic was inspired by Christina's love of electronic subgenres and described as futurepop by many critics. In a recent interview she stated that Bionic is "all about being unabashedly yourself." Exhale, is Bionic still ahead of it's time? Let's celebrate! What's your favorite track from this electropop masterpiece?

I don't know if the post embeds, but here it is: link Has anyone tried taking singing lessons with the legendary, ahead-of-her-time, Xtina? Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored by MasterClass

  20. On March 27, 2001 Lady Marmalade was released as part of the soundtrack as the lead single of the movie Moulin Rouge!'s soundtrack. The song was an all-girl collaboration between Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mýa and Pink. It also featured Missy Elliott, who co-produced the track along with Rockwilder. The song was written by Bob Crewe and Kenny Lonan and it was originally performed by Labelle, released in 1974 as the lead single of their album Nightbirds. The 2001 track also credits Kimberly Jones (Lil' Kim) as a co-writer, since it includes her rap which gives it a modern twist. The song reached #1 on the BBH100 and remained there for 5 weeks, becoming the ninth song in history to top the chart by different artists (Labelle's version also reached the #1 26 years prior). It was also the third airplay-only song to top the chart (Aaliyah's Try Again and Shaggy's Angel). It's also the longest reigning number one on the Top 40 chart for an all-female collaboration (9 consecutive weeks) and by the end of 2001 it had already sold 5.2M copies worldwide, hitting #1 in 15 other countries. A music video was directed by Paul Hunter and it was filmed in Los Angeles. It features all the singers in lingerie, in a cabaret-style set that resembles the Moulin Rouge club. It was choreographed by Tina Landon. A Making the video episode was done for MTV. The video won the MTV Video Music Award for "Best Video of the Year" and "Best Video from a Film". It also landed at #5 on the yearly Top 100 of 2001 on MTV Latin America. The song also won a Grammy in 2002 for "Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals". It was performed live at the MTV Movie Awards and at the Grammy's Related:
  21. I really understand why celebrities close to Britney did not speak before, because they did not know the facts, and it looked like a conspiracy. But now with the documentary and how mainstream all this is, its weird that Christina Aguilera and Madonna are silent on this! How can someone as big as Ariana Grande support Free Britney, while celebrities close to Britney are silent or against her?
