  1. I remember back in 2002 when Avril Lavigne performed at the All That, around the time she use to call Britney as a sl** and Jamie Lynn didn’t had any problem to show up wearing a necktie at her side. not sure if it is a big deal, years later i thought it was just business but now… if I had my TV show and a person against my so loved sister showed up, I would never be around her like she did.
  2. During an interview on Most Requested Live, Ed Sheeran said, “I love Olivia Rodrigo. I don't know if she would like this comparison, but I’ve been saying this for years, the world needs a new Avril Lavigne.” He added that both women started off young and wrote their songs with a rock sound.
  3. Could two of Alanis Morissette's musical daughters be working together? Not only are there rumors of a BLACKPINK and Taylor Swift, but there's also rumors that Avril Lavigne and Taylor Swift might have a duet for Avril Lavigne's Untitled seventh studio album, her follow up to 2019's Head Above Water, and her second release as an independent artist as the album will be released through Avril's Music with distribution through BMG US worldwide. These are the first two musical artists that actually have a link to Alanis Morissette with their narrative story telling songwriting with not afraid to hold back. The third to be associated with the 90s Alternative rock icon would be none other than Adele. Who would be here for Taylor Swift and Avril Lavigne? Related:
  4. What up, Exhale I've never made a top 10 of my favorite albums, but I'm pretty sure this one would make the cut. It was released 17 years ago, I just can't believe how I went from listening to it when I was just a kid and now I look back at it in my late 20s. In order to celebrate its anniversary, I would like to run down the track list and talk about those songs. Take me Away: a very Evanescence-esque (the cacophony here lol) opening track. It definitely sets the whole vibe for the record. Together: I love the piano melody at the beginning. Silly me was just learning English at that moment and judging by the title, I thought it was a love song. Don’t Tell Me: a great pick for the lead single. Everything about it was amazing. I remember being entranced by the music video, and I still watch it regularly in YouTube. However, I think that it is the message of the song what should be highlighted: CONSENT, even if you are in an actual relationship. He Wasn’t: such a fun song. I remember being eager about this becoming a single, and 2005 heard my prayers. How Does It Feel: Avril’s vocals are beautifully soothing when the sound is more stripped down. This song is the perfect example. I also love how the instrumentation grows towards the end. My Happy Ending: the big hit from the album, peaking at #9 in the BB Hot 100. It was here when even more girls started copying this punk yet preppy style of hers. And can we just talk about the bridge in this song? Nobody’s Home: more of the Evanescence influence, even Ben Moody (the band’s former guitarist) was involved in its crafting. The music video always made me feel uneasy. Forgotten: this is the only song in the album that I couldn’t ever get into. Who Knows: I imagined so many things to include in a music video for this song. It’s just so uplifting. Fall to Pieces: and here’s my favorite song in the album, and my favorite Avril’s song overall. This song has been with me over the years and it just irks me how it didn’t receive the promo it deserved. Also, the way her vocal tones overlap towards the last chorus Freak Out: in my mind, this one and ‘Who Knows’ are like sister songs. They give me the same uplifting, couldn’t-care-less vibe. Love it. Slipped Away: it’s like the lullaby of the album, at least during the first minute. I love the lyrics in here. I Always Get what I Want: this one wasn’t in the album edition I bought. It’s not necessarily bad, it just pales against the rest of the album. This is just a brief looking back at an amazing body of work. What do you guys think?
  5. Avril Lavigne looks radiant in new promotional photos teasing her forthcoming seventh studio album. She shared a lyric from a song titled "Cannonball," which btw is not the lead single - rather just a track off the record. She looks amazing - I'm excited! Exhale, thoughts? Related:

  8. Avril Lavigne released a new song with MODSUN titled "Flames." The music video is out now Technically, it's his song and she's featured on it, but a return is a return: It's 2:31 so give it a couple of spins
  9. Avril Lavigne is readying a new album. We know she's working with Modsun. Fans believe her lead single is titled "Flames" and drops January 8th, 2021. One thing's for sure: she has a collab with Machine Gun Kelly in the works. Avril shared new photos of them in the studio together (with Modsun). Exhale, you here for this or nah? Related:
  10. Avril Lavigne just followed Dr. Luke on Instagram, and fans are not thrilled about it. Avril came to Kesha's defense in the past regarding the lawsuit against, so it's curious why she has any connection with him now. Fans are worried they're working together on new music. They previously collaborated together, including "Hot." Thoughts?
  11. In 2002 Avril Lavigne released Let Go. It was one of two female albums that actually caused a cultural shift. The other Is P!NK's M!SSUndaztood. It ended Britney spears and the Max Martin era of Teen pop.. Not saying it ended Britney. But it was pretty obvious given how Pink and Avril were outselling the teen pop girls. It ended the genre's reign. Also Britney worked with The Matrix on Shadow who basically did almost all the hits from Let Go. Plus Britney worked with Linda Perry on the in the zone sessions. Boys and Girks were issued on the international bonus CD of the in the zone dvd. Track remains unreleased in the US. Funny how Pink never called out Britney for working with her Girl Linda. Let Go is the best selling female debut album in the UK of all time. All time. Just how successful is that record. She broke the record held By Kylie Minogue for 1988's Kylie. It took 15 years to break an established record. But I guarantee you.. The UK will only know Complicated compared to The singles from "Kylie" are iconic pop songs in the UK "I SHOULD BE SO LUCKY", GOT TO BE CERTAIN, THE LOCO-MOTION AND OF COURSE JE NE SAIS PAS POURQUOI ( I STILL LOVE YOU) ARE PROBABLY MORE ICONIC AND INBEDEDD IN THE UK POP MUSIC CANON MORE THAN LET GO. case in point. Every avril album after that sold less and less. Avril just happened to arrive at the right time when Britney and bubblegum pop fatigue was beginning to set in.
  12. Word has been going around that Ariana Grande & Justin Bieber's new song "Stuck With You" rips off Avril Lavigne's underrated masterpiece "Tell Me It's Over." This mash up proves that rumors are indeed true. Avril needs to sue for infringement. This is a rip off. Thoughts?
  13. So I was kinda surprised when I saw that she was gonna part of this livestream show by a Mexican radio station, Alfa 91.3. She performed We Are Warriors, Head Above Water and Keep Holding On. Here's the full thing
  14. Avril Lavigne released "We Are Warriors" on Friday (April 24). It's a re-reworking of "Warrior," which landed on her 2019 album, Head Above Water. She re-recorded some of the lyrics to fit the mood of the pandemic. Avril's description of it sounds very optimistic. "I wanted to get involved and contribute so I got to work in the studio and I want to dedicate this to all of you. I re-recorded Warrior to reflect our current world and all the amazing heroic things you’re all doing. To all the hospital workers, postal service people, grocery store workers, police and firemen, every single one of you who has had their world shaken. This is for you." You can read her full message below. Head Above Water really grew on me over the last year. When I reviewed it upon its debut, I was not impressed. However it aged well. Any Avril fans here in Exhale?
  15. I had really high hopes for Head Above Water, and while there are some gems on the record, the album as a whole fell flat for me. Songs like this should have been included. The new tune to hit the Internet unexpectedly is titled "Bright," a gorgeous power ballad that shows off Avril's sincere vulnerability. I fell in love with it after just one listen. Exhalers, what do we think of "Bright?"
