  1. I made this. And these are facts. Change my mind
  2. 35 years ago. Orion pictures released Desperately seeking Susan. Madonna was billed technically as the supporting character. Film was supposed to be R Rated. But orion trimmed it to a PG-13 film to add the market of Madonna's teen audience. This is one of her biggest film successes. The fifth highest grossing film of 1985. At that time was the highest grossing independent film by a female director. Overtaken by Twilight. Into the Groove was not included on the soundtrack due to Sire records and Warner bros not wanting to over expose their biggest star. Madonna was the top act of 1985 according to billboard. This is also the height of the Madonna wannabe craze as The susan fashion was what Madonna was wearing by Maripol. The film scene at the club and the credits used the demo version of into the groove. Stephen bray said the vocal was done in one take. We just changed some of the music production. But vocally the song was perfect. Susan Seidelmam had to say this about the production of Susan. "MADONNA was very much anonymous when we began. Few hits. But not huge. By November we had to hire security and guards to keep press and fans a distance. In short of two month's. She literally became the biggest thing. And you couldn't stop it." She deserved an oscar for this role and into the groove.
  3. Charli XCX doing a grindr dj set to help promote safe gay distancing and safe gay club distancing. Playing Madonna's 2000 gay anthem Music. Let's just say. It's the gayest thing out there as we speak
  4. Madonna's classic 2015 post apocalyptic masterpiece forv Ghosttown has been picking up views on youtube since quarantine began earlier this month. And a chart shows. The numbers get bigger each day were in quarantine
  5. Vogue by Madonna turns 30 today. Let's just say gay culture in the 90s was never the same after this event. Worlds biggest selling single of 1990. Madonna's first of two multi platinum singles. A fan favorite and a live staple none the less. A pop culture movement. Made House musuc mainstream in the US. And is referenced a lot in her work. From the line in 2015's Vini Vidi Vici "WHEN I STRUCK A POSE, ALL THE GAY BOYS LOST THEIR MINDS". To being referenced in her ode to oral eating in 2015's Holy water. To using the finger snap stems in her historical 50th #1 dance hit "I dont search I find" Instead of the video. Enjoy a mashup of all the performances of Vogue throughout the years So come on Strike that pose girls
  6. I wasn't particularly in love with "Madame X" when it first came out. The only songs that I genuinely liked and listened to were "I Rise", "God Control" and "Faz Gostoso" (the potential #1 single that got away). What hurt my listening experience the most was the unfavorable preconceived notions about "Madame X" that I had. I was convinced that the album would be a generic desperate trend-chasing mess filled with overdone reggaeton and stuff. However, that couldn't have been further from the truth. The album isn't like that at all. Even "Medellín" I wouldn't call generic. Anyway... I kind of gave up on "Madame X" after my first few listens, but now, after some time has passed, I've relistened to it again a few more times and somehow I've been absolutely loving it. The only songs that I still don't like are "Medellín" and "Bish I'm Loca". The rest are freakin' amazing. Highlights: Dark Ballet, God Control, Crave, Crazy, Faz Gostoso, I Don't Search I Find, I Rise, Extreme Occident, Killers Who Are Partying. Another thing I'm thankful for is that Madonna never gives up on eras even if she flops. We got 3 singles and 4 wonderful music videos despite the fact that none of the songs charted. Britney can't relate.
  7. Madonna's original 2003 Video American Life. Relevant then, still relevant today and even more so. Since the song is basically dissing the celebrity status. Oddly we have a Celebrity as a president or an actor portraying one.
  8. In 1991 Madonna allowed Viewers into a look into her Life with the Groundbreaking documentary. Shared the highs and lows. Also iconic moments like The Kevin Costner shade. Her boyfriend at the time Warren Beatty not being impressed by her lavish lifestyle or the 24/7 cameras everywhere. But it also broke ground. Back in the 90s it was very difficult for gay culture to be accepted. Madonna broke that barrier and showed the world. These people exist and their fabulous. But also showed the struggled many felt to be accepted by the world and the media itself. It's also noted. Reality tv existed in America only cos of this film. And it definitely created the subculture of celebrity reality tv. Wouldn't be Kardashians, or any celebrity reality show. Without this film..
  9. One thing about Madonna is she's a perfectionist when it comes to her stage tours. From calling her dancers actors and actresses to help tell her story. From saying she doesn't condone weed or grass use. But as she is paying you. Don't do it under her payroll. From saying that the show is timed down to the seconds when it begans. Remember your cues and places for each second. If anybody makes a mistake or Fs up. It sets the whole show off and my mood as well. I understand why there's a lateness to her shows. As you see the choreographers and the assistant choreographers basically have to get the people back in line and remember that just because you had a few days off. Doesn't mean you can slack. They rehearse basically tills it's back in the perfection sync that's needed. And as her team said. Three months doesn't give you a great time to prepare. Once February hit the workshop basically started. And we have to parent them and tell them. You can get Fired for not doing what you are told to do.
  10. https://www.idolator.com/7908266/should-have-been-bigger-madonnas-anthemic-girl-gone-wild?andro=1&chrome=1 In their retrospective of songs that should have been bigger. Madonna's Girl Gone wild made the cut. They call it her ultimate club anthem though they admit Her 2015 track ***** I'm Madonna is a close second of her essential club tracks last decade. While also stating. It's easily one of her three best singles last decade with Crave and Ghosttown. And i agree. I still think people over reacted over the original video with the very appropriate male nudity. You can still buy the video with the full explicit scene that got cut on itunes. Oddly it's the only way to access it. But I have seen far worst videos. But complain about seeing a rare butt naked cheeks from a guy.
  11. Welp. This article basically states. Social distancing and isolating ourselves is doing more harm than good. Because it's actually making the Virus get bigger. It's in the Gray area right now. Means it could die or actually become a threat. The way we're handling it. Is actually making it become a threat to society. Science isn't able to pin point how it can be cured or handled without normal human behavior. So bottom line. We're doing more damage than good right now. Source: Forbes
  12. Madonna's coronavirus diary is being praised by Paper. They call it her best work in years. It's actually what we needed from her in a long time. Switching from Madame X on the typewriter to Madonna in her home. The diary is everything we love about her. Drama, humor and inquisitive intellect thinking. They did say the one video where she calls it a virus for equality has been deleted. After the harsh criticism of a celebrity showing their wealth as usual.
  13. https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop/9341347/madonna-in-2000-reinventing-pop-music Madonna in the year 2000 reinvented pop music. They mention her ill fated cover of American Pie. It was a global hit. But in the states. The Don McLean version was still and is the implanted version. He was the only one to praise it. Regrettably Warner executives forced Madonna to add the track on the international version to have an additional hit song. A decision she regretted and For her 2001 90s hits album. Madonna punished the track from inclusion due to it being on Music. It's noted while Die Another day fits cohesively with American Life. American Pie threw the albums cohesive way off. Music was the proper introduction of her new direction. While it's noted she was being safe and continued the sound of 1998's Ray of Light. Which is still noted her most critically acclaimed work to date. But she goes into a direction that Madonna would be remembered. It's been said. Outside her music. If you were to put a mural of Madonna in her images. You would see that this girl never stayed true to just one image. The collage would show you Madonna. But in various outfits and themes. It's known her biggest longevity was her reinvention in both sound and image. Kimberly Caldwell said in 2013. Since the year 2000 We've had at least 16 different Madonna's and I loved each and every one of them.. The cowgirl and Americana theme of Madonna is still deemed as one of her most iconic reinventions. After all this is the same woman that dissed Antonio Banderas (her future costar in 1996's Evita) for wearing Cowboy boots in 1991's Truth or dare. She also called him a horrible actor. All this due to bringing Melanie Griffith to her show. She wanted him and was **** blocked by his Girlfriend at the time.. To me the highlight of the album Is still Don't tell me. The stop and go beat. Many people felt that it was skipping without realizing that production of the loop guitar and the beat being broken down is what made the song gel. But alas they thought it was a manufacturing error in the CD pressing. Many copies were returned. It was only realized what they did was intentional when it became a single. And the video of Madonna dancing with the gay cowboys probably pissed John wayne in his grave..
  14. https://www.udiscovermusic.com/stories/madonna-mdna-album/ The album "MDNA" is almost 10 years old. It's being considered as the stronger divorce album in years. Especially the fact that Madonna was very Angry at Guy. It's to be noted. Madonna fans are happy she's back to being who she was when she wasn't married. They said Between the image and everything else. Madonna was a different person.. Plus this is the same Husband that didn't like the kiss in 2003. Between brit and M Even rolling stone asked M. He had to know who he was married to?. He did. But he wanted someone that wasn't gonna be as strong as I Am. They mention girl gone wild was the hit that should have been. Mentioning that because she was 53. Radio didn't support it. But on the dance floor. It was the smash hit that was expected to be. Had it been Rihanna or Britney. Girl gone wild would have been massive. But probably not the same as Madonna injected the Good catholic girl gone bad imagery as only she can. Which served appropriately as the track launched The MDNA tour every night. Even breaking through the confessional. Glad to see MDNA being shone in a good light. Can't wait to see this happen to Rebel heart and Madame X as usual. Madonna is the only act I know that can go from bad reviews to actually positive reviews over the years. Hell American life is now viewed as a masterpiece and a great social commentary on American society..
  15. I- Madonna changed some of the lyrics of her iconic song "Vogue" to fit the mood of the Coronavirus outbreak. Everyone's going to stir crazy and losing their minds.
  16. Madonna filmed a video naked in a bathtub reciting what sounds like poetry about COVID-19. That's a sentence I didn't think I'd ever write. Here's what she had to say in the bizarre clip. "How smart you are, where you live, how old you are, what amazing stories you can tell. It's the great equaliser and what's terrible about is it what's great about it," she said. "What's terrible about it is that it's made us all equal in many ways and what's wonderful about is, is that it's made us all equal in many ways." "Like I used to say at the end of human nature every night, if the ship goes down, we're all going down together." Is this eccentric and cool or just weird?
  17. Now that we know Madonna is alive for sure, that she did not die in Paris, the Queen of pop took to social media to drag Donald Trump and his god awful response to the Coronavirus outbreak. Madame X is... a legend. Thoughts on Madonna's takedown?
  18. Madonna posted on Twitter. She's in self quarantine. And typing on a type writer named corona. She also hints at new music. Cos there's new stories to tell. Cos stories keep the world alive when hope is needed at this desperate time of need. She also hints. Madame X is very much alive and didn't die in Paris when the tour ended.
  19. This legit is a kii. Madonna posted a video of Italians singing on their balconies. The original video is indeed Italian people uniting and singing because they are in isolation, however it wasn't to Madonna's Madame X track, "I Rise." I legit believe Madonna thinks this is real and not an edit, and I'm 100% here for it. Rise up.
  20. Madonna has had her fair share of ups and downs with the Madame X tour, but drama aside... she proved the Queen of Pop is still very much in-demand! According to this data compiled by Touring Data on Twitter, the Madame X theater tour grossed nearly $50 million. Her London residency alone generated nearly $10 million Guess this is why she doesn't care about banning cell phones and cancelling tour dates. Ha impact! Are you guys surprised by these stats? To be honest I am a little. I knew she was a touring force, but dayum!
  21. Ok, which one of you made this. @Aizmov gave me a heads up about this sick COVID-19 playlist: "music to quarantine to." It was created by 122059603 on Spotify. It features songs that low-key fit the pandemic theme, but with a gay pop twist. It's Exhale meets the Apocalypse. Themes include isolation, feeling under the weather, hygiene and other icky virally motifs. The playlist features: Britney Spears' 'Toxic" & "Breathe On Me" Mariah Carey's "Caution" Hilary Duff's "Come Clean" Christina Aguilera's "Dirrty" Madonna's "Survival" and "Fever" Blondie's "Rapture" Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die" Ariana Grande's "Be Alright" and other fitting songs viewed through the lens of this ongoing nightmare. Click the link to play: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6vk5cPaVvU0mse7JB9ESzk?si=SAHwn36DTW-FJhIQp-ro1w Are there any songs missing that you can think of? Will you be streaming it alone in your room this month?
  22. I’ll just say it: The Madame X tour is cursed. Injuries, cancellations, postponements, no cell phones allowed, a moved start time, lawsuits, the curtain incident, chants and boos… now the Coronavirus. Madonna cancelled the last two show dates. Here's the official statement: Refunds are available. To be honest, even if it's an excuse... I'm glad. She needs to rest. This tour took too much of a toll on our queen. Thoughts?
  23. Legends only! Madonna, Beyonce and Taylor Swift are the only pop girls to land on Time's women of the past century list. They put together a list of 100 women who've influenced culture over the last 100 years. “Many of the women on this list exercised their influence at the margins, in defense of the marginalized,” says the magazine's former editor-in-chief. Madonna Beyonce: Taylor Swift: You can see the full list of women here. Thoughts? Anyone missing from the list?
  24. The Queen of Pop is still breaking records. Madonna broke two new records on the Billboard charts with “I Don’t Search I Find.” According to Madonnarama, she is now... 25. WAKE UP! If you’re to take anything away from Madonna’s new music video for “God Control,” off her No. 1 album, Madame X, it’s that gun violence is destroying countless lives unnecessarily, and that the American government has a responsibility to tighten gun control laws. Madame X is many things, and there’s two facets of her in the video. One is a journalist, writing the important lyrics of the song on a typewriter. Meanwhile, another Madame X is heading to a NYC club for a night of fun, but unfortunately she encounters two harrowing experiences: she’s robbed at gun point en route then later mowed down by an assailant inside the venue, who uses an AK47 to wreak havoc on party-goers. “Understand that this is what happens. Guns kill,” Madonna tells CNN. “A bullet rips through your body, knocks you to the floor and takes your life, and you bleed to death. I mean this is reality.” “We know that one way to change our culture of gun violence is to change culture,” she continued. “People who change culture are often influencers and creative people. They have this ability to reach and connect millions and to encourage them to get involved and to use their voices and their votes to end gun violence.” One of Madonna’s other new songs, “I Rise,” features a clip of Parkland, Florida student Emma Gonzalez, who survived the 2018 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. “We live in a democracy. We can change laws, but it requires organization — and it requires consistency — and it requires people doing what they can do — at a grass roots level or on a larger scale,” Madonna said. “Which is what I’m trying to do.”It’s a cause she believes anyone can be involved in. “You can do it through your art, you can do it through activism in your own community,” she said. “There are so many levels and ways to do it. I’m trying to stoke the fires and keep people focused on this crisis through my art and through my own statements.” Watch the new eight-minute video below:
