  2. Walk the Moon singer Nick Petricca comes out as bisexual. Petricca revealed the news on social media: "i am Bisexual," he wrote. "today is the last day of Pride Month here in the year 2020, and i think it’s time i said that." "my whole life i have passed for a “normal person”, cisgender straight guy, and this has afforded me a life of privilege. virtually no name-calling or bullying or hardship around my sexuality really at all. my heart is with so many LGBTQ+ human beings who have had a much more challenging experience than i have. AND i believe in what Harvey Milk said… (i’m paraphrasing) that when the collective as a whole, when people as a whole realize that we are everywhere… that we are your children, that we are your mothers and fathers and brothers and sisters… that we have been with you and among you and are you and have been this whole time… *that’s* the moment when the myths, the bullying, and the inequality will end." Welcome to the LGBTQ fam, Nick! Read the full message below: Stream "Shut up and Dance" for clear skin.
  3. Been on abinger for my boyfriends birthday! I got him a zoom light so he looks cute during his meetings and a back support because it gives him proper (can’t think of the word) sitting. https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJk33cwT/
  4. Thread full of stereotypes incoming Before answering, please read. ***** To make it short: I have a male friend, and he was a closeted bi with a significant preference for guys (80%). I would've never guessed even though he enjoys pop culture with me He also shaves his legs & wears an anklet he got it when he went to idk which island in Oceania what a tourist but I know a straight guy also doing it so I didn't take it as a sign he isn't gay he's European Aside from that he's muscular & handsome *** He told me that a few days ago, I was preparing some tea, didn't know that he was going to spill tea hotter than mine I'm the only person to know Here comes the reason why I made this thread: throughout the discussion, I learnt the reason why he's never dated anybody. I mean, me too, but that's because I'm a romantic girl looking for the Prince Charming He told me that he was also waiting for the Prince Charming or the Princess Charming He doesn't like that much 'gay culture'. He's freaked out by saunas, backrooms and stuff like that. He hates bars & nightclubs because it's full of drugged/drunk people that only wants to have s3x according to him, and he doesn't want to meet his lover there. He tried a dating app once, and... 2 hours after and 50 harassing texts + more than 10 **** picks he closed his account. Some old guys proposed him money to s*ck his **** and a young one wanted to dominated by him in a very humiliating way (dog) As if it wasn't complicated enough for him, he has a list of requirements nah jk, his 'requirements' ain't that hard, he just wants a muscular/sporty guy around his age (20) because he wants to train with him & that is studying. Personality-wise, he just wants a nice guy with some sensibility (not scared to share his feelings) yet masculine. He doesn't like effeminate guys, and he hates shallow guys (let's say, Emma Roberts) or guys that are hooking-up 50 times a month. Oh and he doesn't want to have s3x immediately. He doesn't like s3x without feelings. Here's the problem according to him: he can't find any guy. I mean, it's pretty normal, since most of them would be unrecognisable just like him, I told him that he probably popped into a gay guy that enhances his requirements yet none of them realised that the other one is gay/bi and he's also an introvert He feels kinda lonely regarding that & told me that he expected more gays to be like in movies and TV shows he's veeeery romantic yes So I'd like to know, how are gays in general in your country? And is there anybody like him? How do you deal with that? I eventually told him to find a girl, I expect it to be easier He's not really looking after anybody, he's just there strolling around & preventing people from approaching him in a romantic way, even slightly, unless he takes for granted a mutual attraction Guess what? He's not even the most complicated one among my friends
  5. Being that I went to school at a very different time, Straight guys hated us in the 90s, and the early 00s. I already accepted the only way to survive high school hell is a bunch of girlfriends. This quote is spot on. We are in touch with our feelings, We do love strong women. It's the best friendship. They say a lesbian best friend is a straight man. Which I do believe that theory.
  6. So I'm writing a paper on the effects of gay hook-up culture on the lives of gay men. And ****, we are kinda the worst... to each other no less. Let's be better and move away from the femmephobic and hypermasculine homogeneity that is prevalent within our society.
  7. I don't trust the white gays especially the lil fem *****es. I love and support all my latino and black gays. The white gays wanna be us so bad but they cant. u guys should just stick to being simple, complaining and crying about stuff.
  8. Hi BreatheHeavy/Exhale Community, It's my birthday today! 9. So as some of you know I've recently started doing drag and as a way of shameless self-promotion, I thought I'd share an update with you on my progress (and battle) with makeup, wigs, and the like. I just the other day learned how to put on false eyelashes. It's been such an extra learning curve. Amazon is truly a drag queen's holy grail. I feel for queens who didn't have the internet as a resource previously. I need to learn how to properly block out my boy brows and contour my nose properly, but I feel pretty good for the progress I've been making. For comparison here is boy me side by side : Follow me on insta and facebook: https://www.instagram.com/theannehedonia/ https://www.facebook.com/TheAnneHedonia kbye.
  10. I’ve never seen Fever Ray on Exhale before. Maybe I’ve missed it, but I wanted to shine a light on this incredibly dope, weird, and massively talented artist. Fever Ray is the solo project of Karin Elisabeth Dreijer, former one-half of the electronic music outfit, The Knife. The knife, a brother-sister duo, went on to pick up a slew of awards overseas, including Pop Group of the Year, Song of the Year for Heartbeats, Best Album of the Year as well as Best Pop Album for Silent Shout, Best Video, and many more. Eventually, Karin stepped away to create and develop their own sound, image, and brand, giving birth to Fever Ray. For this post, I want to focus on their latest release, Plunge. First, let me be clear that Fever Ray is NOT everyone’s cup of tea. No great artist is. But Karin is a FORCE. And their vision is undeniable. The album rollout for Plunge was insane. Sleek, freaky, extravagant, over-the-top content. It felt very Pop, but with a razor-sharp edge. The Album Films and Music Videos, helped to create a very visceral, very bizarre world, seemingly wrung from some dark corner of Karin’s mind. But most importantly, it’s playful. There’s a kind of frenetic joy to this particular body of work that works so well and helps to soften the experience, and while often creepy and even unsettling for some, the project never quite loses it’s sense of humor. During this time, Karin, recently divorced, was also coming out as non-binary (preferring they/them pronouns) and rediscovering their sexuality while finding their place within the LGBTQ community. This personal journey of freedom, discovery, and ****** liberation is what lies at the core of Plunge. It’s also by it’s very nature, a fierce and flamboyant act of rebellion. I hope at least one of you enjoys the journey 😁 And then maybe we can get into Fever Ray’s iconic self-titled debut. 😉 Have fun
  11. I have definitely noticed That in Europe Gay men being campy and in your face with their gay ness is more accepted and preferred as Camp will always be accepted especially from a gay men. However in The US. That will never be accepted as it is viewed as a stereotype. Most Gay men want to be viewed as A man that happens to like men. Most want to be seen as equal or blend in with their heterosexual male counterparts. Even in today's culture. The days of having a female best friend is viewed as dated and actually have been proven to not help in dating. Articles have come out by other gay men saying it's beneficial to have a straight male best friend to understand men in general. Having only female friends actually does more damage in terms of dating as you only understand what a girl wants. Most men want to date a man. Not a female. That's how I see it. Gay men in America wants a man. Not a female in a men's body.
  12. Did anybody else catch the first episode of Canada’s Drag Race tonight? If you are in an area with BBC 3 you can see it on Thursday nights. If you live in the U.S. you can watch it on the Wow Presents Plus app. Yes, it’s another subscription service, but it’s one I recommend if you are a fan of drag race. Lots of original content featuring many of the queens from the show. You can also watch Drag Race UK here. And it’s probably the cheapest subscription service you can get, like $3.99/month. If you did watch the show, what do you think? I think it was a cute Idea to have a different Panel, I kinda missed Ru, but Brooklyn did a good job. Overall I was not disappointed and the lip sync was really good for being the first episode.
  13. I'm home 24/7. I might have got out of the house 2 or 3 times in 2 months. I'm loosing my mind. Also, I can't work since I worked in a hotel. I cut off a lot of "friends" before the pandemic so I feel more alone than ever... I literally don't know what to do with myself. I don't have any goals.. Edit 06/04 : I might go back to work next month so that's positive news. I'm seeing my family back so that helps a lot. And I messaged a friend that I'm seeing soon. So overall, it's a lot more positive. I also did some shopping which always helps. Yes, this thread is turning into my little dear diary.
  14. Taylor Swift put the US census on blast for excluding transgender and non-binary people. Swift spoke up on this and other important LGBTQ issues on Pride Live’s Stonewall Day livestream event. “We had a really good step forward recently with the Supreme Court ruling based on discrimination, based on ***. But we still have so far to go in terms of equality and protections for LGBTQ people and people in the trans community,’ Swift said. Though congress has not yet passed the bill for the Equality Act, Swift says “it needs to happen.” She also disapproves of the US Census leaving off two important groups. “I got my Census the other day and there were two choices for gender. There was male and female and that erasure was so upsetting to me, the erasure of transgender and nonbinary people. When you don’t collect information on a group of people, that means that you have every excuse in the world not to support them. When you don’t collect data on a community, that’s a really, really brutal way of dismissing them.” She added: “Obviously, we all need to exercise our right to vote this year. We need to check out our absentee ballot policy in our states and we need to make sure that we elect people who care about all communities.” Do you agree with Taylor? Related:
  15. Very eye-opening documentary on Netflix about trans visibility and depictions in media. Definitely worth the watch. For those who have seen it, would love to hear your thoughts! https://www.netflix.com/title/81284247 https://www.disclosurethemovie.com/
  16. It’s obvious that Katy Perry and the Gays™ don’t have the strongest relationship but that doesn’t change the fact Katy is an ally She teased the “I Kissed A Girl” part of a greatest hits remix of “Daisies” on her IG. UPDATE: She released it with a music video on YouTube Edit: Apparently there’s no lyrics change and I’ll consider seeing an ear doctor after all this Corona mess
  17. Drag queen Shea Couleé was asked By T-Rex to perform the iconic 2001 Britney spears hit "I'm a slave 4 U" dressed as a slave for white queens during Black history month. This has got me thinking that I have a funny feeling a song title change might happen given how the title would be considered poor taste in 2020. So do you think RCA Records and Britney Spears should retitle the song to a more appropriate context today? @Jordan Miller @Roxxy
  18. Spanish singer Pablo Alborán posted a video confirming he's gay. "Estoy aquí para contaros que soy homosexual." "I am here to tell you that I am a homosexual," the Malaga singer said. "No pasa nada, la vida sigue igual. Yo necesito ser un poco más feliz de lo que ya era", ha comentado después de asegurar que siempre ha luchado "en contra de toda expresión que vaya en contra de la libertad y del odio", por lo que quiere que hoy su grito se haga más fuerte y tenga "más valor y más peso". "Nothing happens, life remains the same. I need to be a little happier than I already was." Alborán added that he is "against all expressions that go against freedom and hate" and hopes his message creates "more courage" for others. Watch the video below. Welcome to the #LGBTQ club, king!
  19. Growing up I would go after the straight acting gays. The ones you couldn't tell if they were gay or not. Not realizing I was only hurting myself. They were into heavy metal music, cars, sports. Northing that interested me. Basically they were into being a man into manly things but gay. Didn't know they were into men with the same mindset. Ironically they don't even want to be friends with us. Cause we make them uncomfortable with our refusal to blend in and always having to stand out. Truth be told, they were telling me subtly that I need to find men that value the same stuff as I do if I want a happy relationship. I'm still trying to find him, but the stuff I like isn't cool and I refuse to let it go. They want to date Robert. But the day I was given my nickname Spice. I killed Robert. Cos he was weak, ******** assaulted always bullied and hated. So I killed that person. Spice is who I am today. I tried to legally change my name. Which caused the biggest fallout of my family. They always hated the fact that I'm known by a nickname. They always hated the fact for 22 years I refused to be called by the name I was given. I lost family. Honestly I don't know what to do. I killed who I was because I never want to embrace the kid that got took advantage of. To me, everything that happened was basically a sign of weakness. Killing that person was setting myself free from the past. Starting a new life Like a rebirth, but the people I dated felt always judged or watched by my friends. They said, when you merge both call me. Until then seek therapy. Obviously you tried, but you seem to be the type of person that needs counseling 4x a week in order to enbrace the past. Killing what your mother named you did more damage than good.
  20. The Trump administration just reversed non-discrimination protections for transgender people in health care, the Washington Post reports. Here's a quote from their article: "The rule change, part of a host of updates pertaining to abortion, birth control and families undertaken by federal officials over the past three years, represents an important setback in the movement for LGBTQ rights. Under President Barack Obama, the concept of gender in many areas of the law had been broadened beyond biological *** to encompass the myriad identities that different Americans embrace." The Health and Human Services said in a statement that it believes those anti-discrimination provisions apply only to “male or female as determined by biology.” It says the change is part of efforts to remove “costly and unnecessary regulatory burdens” that it said were costing American taxpayers $2.9 billion. If you think Trump was for the LGBT community or any Republican. Please wake up. It's the 4th anniversary of the Pulse shooting and right now. His administration is removing laws that protect us. Starting with the transgender community. He basically made it legal for hospitals to refuse service to them legally. Hillary Clinton as a president sure doesn't sound bad. Neither does Joe Biden now We seriously can't afford another 4 years. He could make it legal for us to be murdered and let them get away with it. Is that what you want? We're heading there now!!!!!!
  21. Hi Y'all, First off, Happy Pride Month! It's been the strangest year we've all experienced and Pride will not be the same fun celebration that it usually is. I created a Pride Quarantine 2020 Melancholy List. Check it out if you'd like, you might not know any of the songs or artists, but I felt that all of these songs gave a mood for this year's Pride.
  22. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/supreme-court/supreme-court-rules-existing-civil-rights-law-protects-gay-lesbian-n1231018 The existing civil rights laws protects the LGBT community against work discrimination
  23. I do have a few friends let's say they are retired now. Derrick Hanson and one French film star who started his career in his 30s. Fred fautin. All have come out and said. They are proud versatile and In Fred case. He loves pounding the bottom with his fist. Which has been proven if done wrong has serious damage to that area that is permanent. When you hear someone said. I'm proud I made his first rose bud. Don't google. The fisting rose bud looks like what it means the flower itself in red. I'm not prudish but some thing's are just off limits. That has to be more painful than a 11" or 12". But Derrick hansen has come out and said people who are strictly defined as either top or bottom are the most selfish. The happier gay men being satisfied are the versatile ones..cos you get some and I get some. The best of both worlds..
