  1. I remember when I saw one of the last Monster Ball shows in 2011, font row, for $250.00. I thought that price back then was insane and I was embarrassed to tell people I spent that much. But tickets now (e.g.,"stage setting" at The Renaissance World Tour start at $3,000.00) are out of control. It's the reason why this tour and The Eras Tour are on track to become the biggest concerts in history.
  2. I love "Born This Way" ... don't get me wrong. It should definitely be in the top 10. But that song stands on the shoulders of giants.
  3. This list feels carefully, though inaccurately, curated by someone pretending to be a queer intern at Rolling Stone who doesn't know their history. "Vogue" by Madonna is glaringly absent and "I Feel Love" by Donna Summer isn't even in the top 10? Glad Kacey Musgraves is on the list twice, though...
  4. Does anyone else think she sounds a like Macklemore on this album? Who is going to save summer 2023?!
  5. Christina Millian? Hailee Steinfeld? Cassie?
  6. The way Black Diamond was supposed to drop in 2020 or 2021, then in 2022 with the documentary. I don't mind her taking her time to perfect it. Unbreakable is one of her strongest albums she's ever made.
  7. There is no bad Madonna album. Period. Been meaning to revisit this and American Life (which I wish was titled Intervention instead - early 2003 was a polarizing time in the states. We all know what happened to The Chicks)
  8. "Better" should have been the first single and only released on the Deluxe (like Nicki Minaj did with Super Bass). Better is SO the sound of EDM in the 2015-ish era, and it would have fit sonically on the radio with all the other Chainsmoker-esque songs. Second single: "Do You Wanna Come Over?" - no questions. Would have had BIG radio impact. Third single: "Change Your Mind (No Seas Cortes)" - with an epic 10m Latiney Spears MV! Fourth single: "Liar" - just for the gays and old school Britney fans, obviously. Maybe a Max Martin Edit for radio? Fifth single (International): "If I'm Dancing" with tons of club remixes. Also for the gays ha ha.
  9. Oh, and obviously, she wrote for Britney, and we love a stan!!
  10. Before Taylor Swift made the transition to pop, Shania did it first with Up! After Come On Over, there was so much hype and anticipation for this album. And I think it delivered sonically, but I agree there should have been more iconic visuals/imagery like there was during the 3+ year rollout (!) of her Come On Over era. But things were changing in the early 00s, so it made sense. Up! is my second favorite album, only after Come On Over. It stands up on its own. Her and Matt made magic, and it's unfortunate they couldn't continue. I will still play some of the ballads they wrote together at my wedding
  11. her knee was injured during this rollout. Even so, I'll never understand how it failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100.
  12. It's definitely an EP, but won Best Pop Album at the Grammy's, so...
  13. The sophomore curse is a real thing in the music industry, but I came up with a list of albums I think beat the curse over the past three decades. What are yours? Halcyon (2012), Ellie Goulding Born This Way (2011), Lady Gaga (or The Fame Monster, depending on which camp you're in) Teenage Dream (2010), Katy Perry (not counting Katy Hudson - don't know her) Storyteller (1994), Crystal Waters 21 (2011), Adele Crazy***yCool (1994), TLC My Everything (2014), Ariana Grande 7/27 (2016), Fifth Harmony Always In Between (2018), Jess Glynne Bloom (2018), Troye Sivan The Diary of Alicia Keys (2003), Alicia Keys Melodrama (2017), Lorde Rooty (2001), Basement Jaxx SremmLife 2 (2016), Rae Sremmurd One in a Million (1996), Aaliyah Some surprises: Like A Virgin (1984), Madonna - I go back and forth with the classic and timeless Madonna. But LAV typically wins. Future Nostalgia (2020), Dua Lipa - Would have been on the list if it weren't for the god forsaken "Boys Will Be Boys", arguably the worst song she's ever made. Did NOT stick the landing of the album for me. I have fond memories of the Self-Titled era and watching her grow in confidence as an artist and performer. I think Dua Lipa is one of the better debuts, but we'll see if it ages like fine wine or spoiled milk. Oops!... I Did It Again (2000), Britney Spears - BOMT is one of the greatest debuts of all time. Period. E•MO•TION (Expanded Edition) (2015), Carly Rae Jepsen - There are just a couple more bops on Kiss to edge this one out. My Agenda (2020), Dorian Electra - also go back and forth with Flamboyant, but the songs on this album feel unfinished, like Rihanna's "Birthday Cake" - amazing, but too short. Really underrated artist in the hyperpop world.
  14. It's been almost 10 years since BANGERZ. Would very much appreciate a 2.0. Bangerz was one of the best albums of 2013. Let's face it.
  15. Real Britney fans feasted upon this one. Should have been the B Side to "(Drop Dead) Beautiful" - a missed Top 10 hit. So early 2010s.
  16. So tough, but I think this is the order for me. Living through Britney's breakout era as a kid ('98-01) was simply exhilarating. There will never be another time like that in music history, so my ranking is mostly nostalgic—but the impact her first four albums had on culture is undeniable. I will say that my favorite album during cship was Glory, which I think is a testament to her strength and resilience (and, hopefully, what's to come). ...Baby One More Time (1999) Oops!... I Did It Again (2000) In The Zone (2003) Britney (2001) Glory (Deluxe Edition) (2016) Femme Fatale (2011) Circus (2008) Blackout (2007) Britney Jean (2013) Chaotic (EP) (2005) Surprised how low Blackout is for me, but by the time this came out I was in high school and bullied for listening to her music. Makes me sad that the media and most of the general public despised anything she did, but it makes me sadder that I also fell victim to the media's narrative. That being said, I wish I experienced Blackout without the stigma, but why should I be sad? Really happy for those who experienced it as their intro to Britney! Finally, despite Britney Jean being ranked 9th, I still go so hard to this album. Messy rollout, messy cover, messy everything, but it's still iconic and so college for me.
  17. The Emancipation of Mimi is my favorite Mariah Carey album, but Daydream is a CLOSE second. Fantasy is one of my all-time favorite songs, and having lost one of my dear friends, One Sweet Day brings me to tears every time now. I get it now.
  18. Mandy recently said she wished she could give people their money back for her first few projects, but I disagree. This was a stellar album, comparable and in the same ranks as The Spirit Room by Michelle Branch and Be Not Nobody by Vanessa Carlton. I think it's her best album to date.
  19. When she was in the studio making Maneater, the speakers caught on fire. This song is yet to have it's day!!
  20. I've always considered TFM as her second true album. It's so much more than just an "EP", as evident from the Grammy's Album of the Year noms. I hope she re-writes the history on this, but it's highly unlikely because I know she wasn't happy with the final product of TFM (e.g. she wasn't finished with "telephone" and was upset about it still sounding like a demo).
  21. The imagery gives me Born This Way meets Shania Twain vibes. Also, IMPORTANT: Stuart Price (Dua Lipa's Future Nostalgia, Kylie Minogue's Aphrodite, and Madonna's Confessions on a Dance Floor) is one of the producers on this album. Cannot wait for this.
  22. I'm convinced this would have been a Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 for sure if released in 2010-11. You like?
