Definitely, the only memorable ones for me in recent years were Beyonce’s, Gaga’s and JLo and Shakira. Can’t even recall most of the other recent ones.

    Exactly.

Shakira and JLo did the best show period, then Bey, then Gaga.

Madonna, Katy and Bruno deserve a shout out too.

I love Rihanna but she’s one of the rare performers who gets rewarded for absolute mediocrity on stage. i can’t think of one memorable/iconic performance from her, SB included.

    PREACH.

Last good SB performance was in 2020, everything we got after is extremely boring and uninteresting.

And yea, Rihanna is a below mediocre performer

Rihanna has immense star potential. She's iconic, plenty of  #1 hits that dominated radios and charts. I'm not even a die hard fan but im aware merely her presence on stage will bring in millions.

The same way I think Brit could pull off the same thing if she brought her A-game. Some starts are simply stars forever, regardless if they actively release new music or not. They've left a trace on music and pop culture and that's it :mhm_britney_nodding_yes_mhmm:

At the end of the day, it's about performing skills and ability to entertain. All Rihanna has is a full hand of hits and nothing more. She has 0 entertaining skills and no stage presence

“When Tricky Stewart co-wrote “Umbrella” in 2007, he imagined Britney Spears singing it. They had worked together on her 2003 Madonna duet, “Me Against the Music.” But Spears was battling a lot of personal demons when the song was sent over to her team, and they decided it wasn’t worth recording. “Umbrella” ultimately made its way over to Def Jam and a young artist named Rihanna. It hit Number 1 all over the world and turned the singer into one of the biggest stars of her era. If Britney had recorded “Umbrella,” the last 15 years of pop-music history might have unfolded very differently.”

The 50 Worst Decisions in Music History. Adam Levine, Justin Timberlake, KISS, Elton John...

Britney turning down Goodies, Milkshake and Telephone was a crime. I can't hear her singing umbrella lol.

What is crazy is that Umbrella definitely set Rihanna's career on a completely different trajectory. She was a big artist and had hits before, but it was Umbrella that turned her into a global superstar and set the foundation for the future of her career. Britney (or her team) turning the song down kinda changed Rihanna's career forever.

I don't know if I would say it was a mistake for Britney not to record it, as Britney isn't short of hits herself and the song worked perfectly for Rihanna, but I'm sure it would have been a huge hit for Britney too as the song's quality is undeniable.

Rih's career depended on other artists rejects lol (not only umbrella, tons of her hits were rejects from other artists). If she didn't had Umbrella she wouldn't be where sge is today. So Rih needs to thank Brit lol.

There’s literally nothing in the video that was similar to Gaga. They’d the same blonde coloured hair at the time which Christina has had most of her career and the same straight hair/bangs for a while that’s it which is petty AF it was Madonna she took inspo from for majority of the video. Can’t say I see Britney either tbh

Not to mentioned Madge exists and all 3 (B, X & Gaga) referenced Express Yourself in their MVs (Brit on Oops and on a deleted scene from I Love Rock N Roll, Gaga with BTW and X with Not Myself Tonight)

And Alejandro was already a mirror/carbon copy of Like A Prayer and Vogue with a hint of Erotica

    Hey Exhalers,

    How's everyone doing?

I noticed the longing discussion you brought up regarding the B-side 'Can't Make You Love Me', so I decided to go with a proper design similar to the 'Oops!... I Did It Again' single.

I must admit that in the 2000's I wasn't feeling the song at all, and it was a skip for me (don't go hard on me) :shocked_what_xfactor_britney_pink_surprised_wow:

Due to your discussion and after a few plays I fell hard. Now, it's pure gem!

I imagine it as the sequel to 'Lucky'. I think it fit pretty good. Don't you think? :badgirl_britney_flirt_sexy_pom_piece_of_me_lips:

How would you imagine the music video for it?
Do you like the song? Do you agree with the design choices? Let me know your thoughts.

    Absolutly. :mhm_britney_nodding_yes_mhmm:

Not to mention Xtina couldn't focus on her lane and tried mold herself according to the new trend/sound/style of the moment and she didn't do it well...

First era? Britney. Mi Reflejo? Shakira. Stripped? Pink. B2B? Amy Winehouse. Bionic? Gaga. Lotus? Adele.

Brit, on the other hand, could focus on her lane and she did her thing most of the time. And she, just like Janet, Madonna, Gaga and Beyonce, sold s3x, entertainment skills and visuals along with choreo or vocals or theatrics. And she (and the other 4 mentioned) did it WELL.
