  1. But what a perfect song to begin the gap with. Imagine the era ending with Private Show

  2. From the moment she arrived, a 19-year-old pop princess superstar was about to graduate to pop queen megastardom and a legend was born. Nobody else even mattered that night. And now, 17 years later — NO solo female artist has topped the lasting power of this performance. She served one of the most iconic and recognizable pop culture moments of the 2000s as it will continue to be remembered for decades to come. ...LIKE THAT. Now ladies, let’s ALL give a round of applause to Britney Spears for doing that and not only solidifying her status as the queen of the VMAs, but as the biggest, iconic and most influential female artist this millennium as statistics back it up. An incomparable legend who created a league of her own and broke down countless barriers. A dynamic force and channelizer. THE GODDESS OF POP, MS. BRITNEY SPEARS.

  4. This not caught “at a bad angle” or “blinking your eyes” type thing. This is the face of a very, very sad woman. The face of complete emotional turmoil. Even tears can’t convey this level of sadness.

  5. SO tired of people in this fanbase and elsewhere with the double standards... Christina posts topless photo and it's totally fine, but BRITNEY posts a topless photo and suddenly she deserves to be locked away, forced on medication, not allowed to have children, and have millions of dollars stolen from her. MAKE. IT. MAKE. SENSE.

  6. Not iconic, but this is a still from a show Diggin’ It promoting MATM in ‘03 (performance of this exists). I’ve never seen the interview before. One of my earliest memories of her is being interviewed on this show and talking about Not A Girl (so I’m guessing early 2002), but I’ve never seen footage or even a still of that either. It was a British morning show for kids.

  8. There's a difference, Christina is not in a conservatorship where everything she does can be used against her in court.

  11. I want the conservatorship to end, of course so Britney can be free and happy and gain back control of her life, but I'm also desperate to see all the people that complain now about her posts "because they're gonna be used against her" when the conservatorship is over and she keeps posting the same kind of stuff. Then they're gonna be "as a fan I still have the right to complain when I don't like something". Y'all are saying it yourselves, they'll use anything against her, it doesn't matter if it's a topless picture, or a picture where she's covered from head to toe, or a 1000 lines caption, or a single emoji, which is more, they've already used stuff that isn't even real, like the dementia claims or God knows what else, so it really lacks any reasoning to be so upset about what she posts on Instagram, because it's not gonna change anything. Even if the account was deleted, they would still find arguments to keep fighting, no matter what. Instead of supporting her, or whoever is posting for her, and change the narrative and be ready to use the #freebritney movement to attack them the moment they even try to use any post against her in the case (which tbh would be very ridiculous and laughable), y'all decide to play along with Team Con's game, because in the bottom, all of those that complain it's simply because they don't like it, they don't think it's correct that their fave posts low quality pictures and videos being topless, and should just be honest about it and stop using the "legal battle" excuse. She's been in a conservatorship since 2008, she's done the Womanizer video, Criminal, Make Me..., she's cursed on her songs, has worn very provocative outfits onstage, and all of that was ok, but somehow team con is gonna come now and use her Instagram posts to deem her incompetent, when that doesn't even have any logic.

That first verse alone… When I was 17 I did what people told me Did what my father said, And let my mother mold me But that was a long ago I'm in control, never gonna stop Control, to get what I want Control, I like to have a lot Control, now I'm all grown up

  16. Putting healthcare workers on the cover won't save people's lives but putting Britney on the cover actually can do that when it comes to spreading awareness and exposing corrupted system that steals people's money and lives

  20. "Best pop vocal performance goes to... Britney Spears, for Work Work." Britney : "Thank you. Wow. I can't believe how cool I sound on this record. I wanna thank Danja for producing the song. Thank you to my management and my beautiful family. Jayden and Preston, mommy loves you so much. And thank you to my fans, this is for you."

  24. Thanks to the internet we have the opportunity to store and be able to repeat and watch hundreds of britney's moments through her career. Based on this, one would think that only what is recorded or photographed are the things that only happened. Considering that I became a fan since 2010, I wasn't able to live the exact "timeline" of her career, so my question goes to the most senior stans ¿What are some importants/random moments in her prime that weren't caught on tape or were just captured on photo, but were relevant at the time? For example, just yesterday I found out that Nsync sang happy birthday to her at a concert on 2000 I imagine that If this would have been recorded, this could probably be "more remembered" like other moments that happened in 2000, you know what I mean? I hope you get my idea lol

  25. I think many of the printed interviews not only have the best questions but also her best answers. Like that interview where she said Chaotic was her worst regret, and then the interviewer mentioned Crossroads, and she was like "**** you, I love Crossroads" or something like that, like WHY don't we have those moments on record?

  26. On September 6, 2001, the MTV Video Music Awards aired live from the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. Fatboy Slim was the biggest winner of the night with six moonmen, for the video Weapon of Choice, followed by NSYNC with 4 and the collaboration between Christina Aguilera, Lil Kim, Mýa and Pink for Lady Marmalade with 2, including Video of the Year. It also featured memorials for Aaliyah and Joey Ramone. The show counted with performances by Jennifer Lopez, Linkin Park, Alicia Keys and NSYNC featuring MIchael Jackson among others, but the biggest event was Britney Spears' performance of I'm a Slave 4 U, the lead single off her third studio album Britney set to be released later that year. The performance had a jungle theme and she started it by standing inside a cage with a live tiger. Besides a heavy choreography that featured what would later become her signature dance breakdown, the performance included towards the end another live animal, an albino python (named Banana). The performance became an instant classic, and to this day is remembered as one of the best performances of the VMA's. Sadly, MTV made the official video private https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBlBaCigDAs&feature=youtu.be but here's another one: Britney was nominated for Best Pop Video (Stronger) but lost to NSYNC's Pop.

  28. Damn Britney totally slept through streaming era... 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021... crazy to think that there's literally no new singles from her and last solo single was 8 years ago

  29. I've always felt that the Grammys refuse to give Britney awards (or at least in the past) because if they do, it'll come across as if they're validating her lip-syncing and as we all know, the panel is still about "tradition" and all of that. Anyways, they've lost some credibility in the past years so I'm curious to see how they'll re-brand themselves, if at all. I feel like only recently have people started questioning their award choices (within the past 10 years) and let's be honest, that's thanks to the internet, and Twitter in particular. Given Britney's legacy, it's clear that she doesn't need their validation. She's achieved a legendary status so from this point onward, anything else will be a bonus, should they decide to redeem themselves lol.

  30. It's not that the Grammy dismisses Britney as an artist. Simply team con regretted the money to buy her nominations and awards.

  36. People should be allowed to post what they want on Instagram, Britney included. I don’t see how a few topless photos will make any difference to her situation imo. Britney posed topless before the c-ship ya know, she has ALWAYS felt s£xually liberated like a lot of women do.
