  1. Like they are both pop royalty. Imagine a song together It would have been one of pop music’s greatest songs ever made Also I’m not talking about their performance of The Way You Make Me Feel at his concert! I‘m talking like a brand new song and a single Britney performing with Michael at one of his concerts in 2001. Britney onstage with Michael at the VMA’s in 2002.
  2. I'm currently watching tmz documentary on mj's death/ addiction to pain killers I know he became famous as a young boy with his brothers then went solo was big in the 80/90s i know he was very famous/adored but he had controversy (labeled wacko jacko, a child molestor, addicted to pain meds and plastic surgery) him hanging around boys at 40 years old. I agree he was talented and seemed sweet but his behavior over the years is kindve concerning. He was big before i was born (born in 93) and during my young childhood so i dont remember him during the 90s i was 15 when he died i do remember seeing his death on the news thinking it was sad. Michael definitely was a superstar a legend but what are your guys take on the more negative side of his 50 years on earth? idk why he denied getting plastic surgery when it's very obvious from the 70s to 80s his face had been changed. Im not a stan of MJ i like some of his songs and know how big he was now but i just feel his life was out of control.
  3. On August 29, 2002, the MTV Video Music Awards 2002 were held at the Radio City Music Hall in New York. After an opening skit, Jimmy Fallon and no other than James Brown welcomed Britney Spears onstage, who introduced Michael Jackson and then, the two of them presented the winner of the Best Pop Video category (No Doubt). Before that, Britney gave Michael a special award as a way of recognition for his birthday, however, Michael misinterpreted her words and believed he was getting honored as the Artist of the Millennium (it's not like he was far from that though). Britney was nominated for three categories that night, but didn't win any of them: Best Female Video (I'm a Slave 4 U) - lost to Pink's Get This Party Started Best Dance Video (I'm a Slave 4 U) - lost to Pink's Get This Party Started too Best Choreography (I'm a Slave 4 U, Wade Robson) - lost to Kylie Minogue's Can't Get You Out of My Head (Michael Rooney) This was the first VMA's ceremony that didn't count with a live performance by Britney Spears since her debut in 1999.
  4. Michael Jackson former choreographer confirmed the King of Pop wanted to collaborate with Britney Spears on the “This Is It Concert Residency”
  5. Also, Drake is behind Michael Jackson with number of hits to lead Billboard. The rapper needs four more hits to hit the top and surpass MJ record.
  6. I know it’s very different in terms of pop music and I am not suggesting Dua Lipa is Michael Jackson, however her impact is undeniable right now. The album similarities thematically and in terms of how Fututre Nostalgia brought back this (now but at the time nostalgia was only starting to impact music production as it currently is rn) trend of post-disco pop. Music crowds overarching from various genres have given her a chance and responded more than favourably as showcased with the success of Levitating, Break My Heart, Love Again, Fever, and more. but going back to thriller, the similarities thematically remind me of one another. Touching on Love, politics the timeless production is sleek and a component to compliment the strong vocals. And yes, I agree I didn’t care about New Rules and the first record however Dua genuinely is singing her *** off. I genuinely thought this was prime Xtina roaring at 2:51 . She has worked hard but the product sounds effortless and natural. Her forward thinking relies on avant- grade production pulling from 70s, 80s, and 2000s post disco and pop funk in the way that Michael and Quincy Jones did with Thriller to start off the 80s pop scene, I feel Duas Future Nostalgia has led the current wave of returning to nostalgia as an aesthetic and musically. @SlayOut @i sometimes sing live @Henry Torres @CrazyButItFeelsAllright @Britneyarmy8 @ILikeChillinWithYou @Midnight @GODNA IS A QUEEN Alternatively I can see this being compared to confessions on the dance floor but it’s different to me
  7. According to deuxmoi, Britney, her boys and her fiancé Sam attended front row of a Michael Jackson show.
  8. Hey Exhale, Seeing the community reinvigorated inspired me to get back to creating threads every now and then. I know we have mostly concluded that the charts don’t mean anything anymore, but it’s still a metric of success for the majority. I’ll be sharing some songs besides the obvious ones I was shocked to find never reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and curious to see which ones you agree with or think should’ve also topped the charts. This thread was inspired by my boyfriend and I talking about how Aaron Carter was that iconic that the majority of younger millennials/older Gen-Z grew up with him and knew who he was. We were shocked to find out that he never really had much success on the charts. Another person that comes to mind is Mandy Moore. She remains iconic, but I remember her being a dominant force in music and film growing up yet the same thing happened with her. The majority of the songs we remember from her never really charted well. It speaks volumes about how much more impactful artists were without social media and how much more mystery there was to them. Anyways this isn’t about Aaron Carter or Mandy Moore This list would’ve been all Britney songs, but that doesn’t make it interesting since we know she had a lot of songs that deserved to top the B100. 1. Oops!…I Did It Again - Britney Spears Peak: 9 Honorable mention: Toxic Peak: 9 2. Levitating - Dua Lipa Peak: 2 Honorable mention: Don’t Start Now Peak: 2 3. Dirrty - Christina Aguilera Peak: 48 Honorable mention: Beautiful Peak: 2 4. Thriller - Michael Jackson Peak: 4 Honorable mention: Smooth Criminal Peak: 7 5. Since U Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson Peak: 2 Honorable mention: Because of You Peak: 7 Do you agree? Add yours!
  9. Janet Jackson has told for the first time how her superstar brother Michael regularly fat-shamed her, before revealing why they grew apart prior to his death. Opening up in a new documentary five years in the making, the Rhythm Nation singer said the late Michael Jackson would call her horrible names, The Sun reports. “There were times when Mike used to tease me and call me names … ‘Pig, horse, sl*t, or hog, cow’,” Janet says.“He would laugh about it and I’d laugh too, but then there was somewhere down inside that it would hurt. When you have somebody say you’re too heavy, it affects you.” Despite the seven-year age gap between her and older brother Michael and his comments about her, the pair had been very close as children. But she admits she and Michael, who died in 2009 aged 50, drifted apart as they grew older. And she was devastated when he was first accused of child s** abuse in 1993 — when 13-year-old Jordan Chandler alleged Michael ******** him at his home, Neverland, in California. Asked if the allegations affected her, she says: “Yeah. It was frustrating for me.“We have our own separate lives and even though he’s my brother, that has nothing to do with me.“But I wanted to be there for him, to support him as much as I possibly could.” The lawsuit was settled in January 1994 with a $23 million payout to the Chandlers. Janet says: “Michael wound up giving money to the family. He just wanted it to go away, but that looks like you’re guilty.” At the time, Janet had been about to sign what would have been the biggest brand deal of her career with Coca-Cola. But the allegation against Michael thwarted it.“When that came out, Coca-Cola said, ‘No, thank you’. Guilty by association. That’s what they call it, right?” Janet says. She and Michael later hit back at the coverage of allegations against him in their 1995 single Scream. But things were never the same between them, she said, with Michael’s team making it hard for her to even see him. Filming of the music video overran and costs spiraled to $7 million. Of the shoot, she says: “It was his song and I was there to support him. “Michael shot nights, I shot days. His record company would block off his set so I couldn’t see what was going on. They didn’t want me on set. I felt like they were trying to make it very competitive between the two of us. That really hurt me because I felt I was there fighting the fight with him, not to battle him. I wanted it to feel like old times between he and I, and it didn’t. Old times had long passed.” A few years later her family tried to stage an intervention in Michael’s life at his Las Vegas home — but he refused to listen. Recalling the conversation with him, alongside his brothers from The Jackson 5, Janet says: “I said, ‘We wanted to talk about you guys going on tour again and if you guys would do that as brothers. I would be honored to open for you’. “He didn’t have much to say, he was stand-offish. I was really upset. “My family chartered a private jet and they came for an intervention. It was a way of us getting close again and he wasn’t having it.” But she admits they had started to grow apart years earlier, when Michael released his groundbreaking best-selling album, Thriller, in 1982. Janet, who was then beginning her own lucrative music career, explains: “It was Thriller, that’s when it all started to change. I remember really loving the Thriller album but for the first time in my life I felt it was different between us, a shift was happening. That’s the time Mike and I started going our separate ways. He just wasn’t as fun as he used to be.” Article
  10. I have learned from watching true Crime of any case.. Sure speaking is important, but one form of communication is basically a cops or FBI giveaway that someone is lying.. Body language. A body language expert watched leaving Neverland and basically determined wade and James lies by their body language which is why it's constantly being thrown out. Viewer discretion But he makes a strong case that probes why they keep losing.
  11. On this day, October 30th 2001, Michael Jackson released his final studio album - ‘Invincible’. I’m having trouble wrapping my head around it being 20 whole years since we heard original material from the King of Pop (if you discount those god-awful posthumous money grabs). Invincible was Michael’s most critique work, however it spawned 3 singles including ‘You Rock my World’ with its blockbuster music video starring Marlon Brando and Chris Tucker, and has sold 8 million copies worldwide.
  12. Another Documentary about Michael Jackson currently in production which will be a investigation into the media's perception of Michael Jackson over the years The director has said on his updates on his Go Fund Me page, " I believe this documentary will be the 'Free Britney' of Michael Jackson ,the documentary which will open the door for our society at large to be more understanding of this story. My aim is to take the general viewer from the house of 'Michael Jackson ' they have been taken to over the years, and open the door to show them how they got there." 13. So Thomas Messerue was MJ's lawyer during 2005 trial and even later he kept giving amazing interviews fighting for MJ and bringing justice for him. He basically was a man that helped Michael to save him. And now Mathew Rosengart can save Britney and became an advocate for a justice. Thomas Messerue is so much loved among MJ'S fans and even till this day he gives interviews and is celebrated. It seems Mathew is on the path to become for Britney and her fans what Thomas Messerue became for MJ and his fans.
  14. With Ed Sheeran racking up his 29th UK top ten hit, OCC looks back at the artists with the Most top ten hits.. Top Male is the King of Rock N Roll and the best selling solo male artist of all time, The late Elvis Presley with over 70 uk top ten hits, compared to His 36 us Top ten hits that number is impressive.. Top female is none other than The queen of pop and the world's best selling female herself with 63 UK top tens, no other female racked up an impressive record like Madonna did with 40 consecutive top tens beginning back in 1984 to 1994.. Compared to her 38 US top tens, it would be extremely difficult to take Madonna's UK record from her.. Michael Jackson has 44 UK top tens. The top 5 respectively are #1 Elvis Presley (Top male, Top artist overall) #2 Cliff Richard #3 Madonna (Top female) #4 Michael Jackson #5 Kylie Minogue
  15. So Taj Jackson had his live and spoke about similiaties between his uncle and Britney. He especially focused on media treatment, how they were being destroyed by negative coverage. As well he says that all this justice that is being done to Britney and his uncle is only because of love and support of the fans. He as well warned that a lot of people now shows their support towards Britney because it is trendy and I liked how he said that Britney doesn't own anyone anything. She doesn't own media tell all interview once she is free. She can contact and tell her story to fans by herself. And Taj says he doesn't think Britney should do anything once free but just be happy. He as well warns that media can change their narrative based on what sells. And he confirmed that dancers that worked for Britney and his aunt Janet and Janet herself have nothing but love and respect for Britney. And he mentions how he heard nothing but good information from people that worked with Britney. How she treats people kindly. Generally very nice words from Taj and it seems Britney has Jackson's family back, love and support. You can watch it here : https://youtu.be/pnuqLoRILyU
  16. So now as we know what we know about Jamie and the whole Spears's family really Joe Jackson starts to seem as a good supportive father. In the end he made amendments to his kids and rebuilt contact with them and he was a lovely grandfather (Prince Jackson shows his love towards Joe for example). Joe Jackson was abusive in the childhood of his kids, abused them physically and mentally. But his abuse stopped and he changed. When MJ died he was at peace with his father that had his back in the biggest crisis of his life. Joe was many times at court with MJ in 2005. Holding his hand, being there for Michael. When MJ removed him from being his manager he accepted it as he saw his son and his kids were becoming too big for him to handle. ADVERTISING Skip Ads by × ADVERTISING Skip Ads by × ADVERTISING Skip Ads by × ADVERTISING Skip Ads by × And MJ'S siblings never showed such a lack of respect for MJ as Bryan and JL show. Janet is much more bigger than JL and Bryan toghetr. But she accepts that MJ is even bigger than her. And never she or any MJ'S siblings showed lack of respect to his achievements. Of course they were somehow jealous of his success but it never became as unhealthy as in Britney's case. And MJ'S family never even attempted to take MJ's life over or to put him under CONservatorship. They were fighting to help him and were against his inner circle. But they never dared to take his life over. Neither they were never plotting to take MJ'S kids from him. They understood how much he loved his kids and never tried to take them from him. Even during 2005 trial. MJ had full custody of kids till his death. And even after his death they kept fighting against his inner circle. They sued MJ Estate (Jamie's lawyers)but they chose wrong attorney (same like Britney in 2008-they both got Adam Streisand and he filed to dismiss MJ'S family lawsuit as their attorney). Even though Katherine Jackson is a weak person and never divorced Joe Jackson and never protected his kids from him but she always loved and supported MJ. She was for him. Even if it seemed just to hug him. Really Jamie won from Joe Jackson title of th worst father of the popstar. And Spears's family got broken and trusted wrong people like no other famous family .
  17. This is a article i have made about the Michael jackson Documentary Square One https://vocal.media/humans/why-square-one-is-an-important-film-about-the-michael-jackson-allegations It tells the full full story of these allegations and how the media suppress the story of these allegations and twist the narrative What are your thoughts on this article and the allegations ?
  18. Well when Billboard shared an article in 2019 stating he was too big of a pop culture figure to cancel, welp they were right. As of today his 1983 iconic hit "Billie Jean' has crossed the billion views club on YouTube Billie jean is the 3rd 80s hit to cross this threshold, the other two pre streaming era hits to cross this threshold is Sweet child o' Mine by Guns N' Rose's and Take on Me by Aha.. Billie Jean is taken from the king of pop's sixth studio album "Thriller" which would end up as the best selling album of all time in the sales of close to 70 Million worldwide. In the time of it's popularity it would sell a weekly Million in the US and about two Million worldwide, while Bad his follow up failed to Thriller standards with an estimated sales between 50 to 55 million it's the second best selling album worldwide That's how huge Michael was in the 80s, he sold over 100 million with those two albums alone worldwide, making him the most successful solo act from a group of all time. Michael was inducted twice in the Rock 'N' roll hall of fame twice. 1997 as a member of the Jackson 5 and 2001 as a solo act, only Janet Jackson would have success besides Michael, but her success is somewhat murky, most see her success as a US Act as her international success failed compared to her brother and her contemporaries like Madonna, Whitney houston and Mariah Carey. Congrats to the King of Pop.
  19. Sorry for making yall feel old But I am really curious on how the world reacted to this very very controversial incident. Mind answering @PokemonSpears?
  20. Michael Jackson's estate got another temporary victory, they were able to get the judge to toss Wade Robson's abuse lawsuit, the judge agreed that both MJJ Productions, and The estate of Michael Jackson are not legally responsible, for what allegedly happened when Michael Jackson was alive.. But that's not stopping Wade, they are already appealing and asking for a judge and a jury with no bias to siding with Michael Jackson, he said both times his clients case was tossed out was due to being super fans of the artist. If we keep getting denied a fair trial, we'll go up to the California supreme court, this has to be done to make sure children aren't taken advantage of, like Wade was, when he was taken from his family in Australia.. Robson's rep said he "has spent the last eight years pursuing frivolous claims in different lawsuits against Michael Jackson's estate and companies associated with it. Robson has taken nearly three dozen depositions and inspected and presented hundreds of thousands of documents trying to prove his claims, yet a Judge has once again ruled that Robson's claims have no merit whatsoever, that no trial is necessary, and that his latest case is dismissed."
