I remember Craig Ferguson speaking up for her. It's been YEARS since I've seen the clip, but from memory I think at first his audience started to laugh, and then quickly stopped when they realised he was serious and wasn't about to mock her situation like every other chat host.

I guess when her fame was at peak, it was cool to hate her. Everybody was okay with mocking Britney and really the whole industry owes her an apology. Its shame how everybody treat such a humble star :(

wish I've been famous just to say how bad they were acting and how ugly they are and defend Britney.. Many artists who met Britney loves her but not stood for her as she deserves I guess (even they are saying really nice things about her like zoe saldana, Miley, Paris etc)
