2016: 3 weeks prior to UK conservatorship interview, Britney told a court investigator that the conservatorship had become an oppressive and controlling tool

I wished they did “freeing Britney Spears” I guess they didn’t keep going cause Britney said she hates them

But why she hates them? I remember her posting-saying things about this.

It is  because it triggers her? Speaking for her? Making money out of the documentaries? I can’t see what’s the real issue, they r exposing team con

honestly yes, it’s just so much we don’t know…

Right!? Not saying anything about her ig, it’s more than the ig side, I feel like nothing has come very truthful for her this year. It’s been an odd year

I kinda understand why she does BUT it helped bring even more attention to what she was under...

I never understood it either… those documentaries were catalysts of her freedom

The fact that she was as lying, because we know the conservatorship was oppressive and made to make Britney depressed and insecure in the first place. Can't believe how she must've felt for all that time.

It's true that it might seem strange from an outside perspective. I think she said at the time on Instagram that they were all hypocrites, that she basically lumped the media and the press together in the same category. She believed they didn’t care about her well-being or her freedom but just wanted to ride the wave of an abusive conservatorship for views. In reality, they didn’t care about her situation and were indifferent to her case. She criticized them for never speaking up before and, in a way, for contributing to her terrible treatment for over 10 years.

If that useless piece of court investigator had done their job right and had she had the chance to hire her own lawyer earlier Jamie could have been stopped and the forced stay in the facility could have been avoided and she would not have been as broken and traumatized as she ended up being.

Assuming she would have been sued if she ever spoke negatively of the conservatorship publicly, but a part of me really wonders why she never just publicly spoke out about her freedom being taken away and being abused, even in a social media post or heading to a random radio station one day. I don't think waiting around for things to be better was the right thing to do and I feel like she's still just waiting around when she has a team of people that can put MULTIPLE lawsuits on her old team / doctors / whoever... It's kind of frustrating to watch as a fan honestly. Maybe i'm naïve but she has so much more power then she thinks she does...

Even the whole "I didn't think anybody would believe me" thing in her book like what do you meannnnnnnnnnn

She literally had no one by her side, and I can see why she was so scared to speak up. Her entire family was pro-conservatorship, her partners also sided with them, she was isolated from any friendships and the media had been attacking her since 1999. After everything she went through in 2007, I don’t think she ever trusted her public image again. She probably feared that everyone would dismiss her and label her "crazy," because that’s what they’d been doing for years.

They broke her down until she lost all confidence in herself, and just when she regained it in 2016, they put her on a psychiatric hold, which ruined her mental health.

And when she finally gathered the courage to speak out, they didn’t even air it. I can totally understand where she's coming from.

Well said, It was more a hypothetical of how the process could have potentially been expedited if she were to speak out. I don't think anyone could really imagine what it could have been like being her during those years. It's awful she was brought to that point.

Imagine if they aired that interview in 2016…the free britney movement would’ve started much sooner and perhaps she wouldn’t have been hospitalized. The media screwed her over every time, it’s sad to see:(

because the abuse didn’t start with the conservatorship. the conservatorship just made it official.

abuse is all she ever knew… she didn’t say a thing because she had been conditioned since she was a child.

this is much deeper than people realize
