Is Britney Suppressing the Artist/Performer In Her?

I’m just forming a theory, since I’ve noticed much of Britney’s patterns consist of dancing & sharing her videos on social media, which indicates to me that she’s seeking some sort of spotlight, while expressing one of her passions (dancing/performing) with the world.

Hence, I’ve concluded that perhaps she’s suppressing her desire to actually perform, & these “dance” videos are her way of putting herself out there, without actually doing it — & as odd as it may sound, sometimes I feel like her moves give subtle fierce energy, such as this one recent IG post.

Judge for yourselves:

I guess my question is, if she’s so seemingly inclined towards dancing & publicizing it, why not just join a dance studio & create well-formulated choreographies out of passion?

She could even develop her own side YouTube channel, where she makes dance routines/vlogs, & teaches her fans (followers) about them — & expresses herself. I feel like that would be great for her, just my opinion.

I’d love to hear your thoughts.

It could be healthy & rewarding for her, I think.

These videos she can do whenever and wherever she wants to.

I think it helps her to be able to perform in a safe space on her own terms, even if it’s just twirling in her living room

She's more like fidgeting than dancing though; no real steps or routine at all. But this is healthy. We do it too. We just don't post it. We do not have the celebrity card.

Who am I to say this, but I feel like it could help her rewire her mindset, & understand that not everything is negative, & keeping her behind an invisible brick wall.

I dont think she wants any kind of structure like joining a dance class, or having a whole team to create videos and choreography, or having her hair done and wearing nice cloths, I think that is all traumatizing for her.

I think essentially what happened is the artistry that she possessed was buried with trauma, depression and grief starting from 2003. Obviously it all got worse for her so She probably suffers from severe art-block as a result of it.

so maybe nothing is truly inspiring to her anymore?

Once you’re able to live the life of your fantasies, there’s always that will to continue to do what you love but she just needs time to heal.

So no, I don’t think she supresses it, it’s more like she unlearned how to use it properly.
I‘m sure she’ll get back to it in some capacity but it takes time.

Interesting topic. I don't think Britney is really suppressing her artistry, I think she's just finding new/different ways to express herself creatively now. 

I would imagine she associates her music career with trauma due to the con she was in. As she stated in her book, "I used to feel music in my bones and my blood and they stole that from me." a very telling line from her book.

I agree, for example her jewelry line is a separate creative outlet, & it’s wonderful — but my intention with the topic is in respect to her constantly getting in front of a camera to dance, & her necessity to share it with the public.

It’s like she still craves to be noticed while she expresses herself, & it makes me feel like the “performer” inside of her wants to come out.

Of course it’s only my theory, but it’s nice to read other viewpoints from the fans.

Actually she mentioned in a recent post that she would like to rent or own a small studio just to dance in there. And she still seems passionate about dancing, doens't she?

She really does, & I didn’t know she’s considered renting/owning a dance studio, that’s amazing.

I think you're right. She's still on work strike. So she expresses herself at home.

I think she is reconnecting with herself and her creative fire! Exploring, discovering and rediscovering. 

And yes I think she is on a work strike or something similar. I don't think she feels safe going back to music because someone would take advantage of her again. Also sadly I think she was involved with the diddler as victim. Her latest posts about taking control of her body and saying there are much more stories she didn't tell in her book makes me wonder. 

After a decade and more of been told what to do and what you should like I think she is just relearning what she used to love. I know she will come to music in one way or another. She loves to.perform.and her IG is testament of that.

Oh I understand what you are saying now. 
 

Yeah I do feel like for Britney, she enjoys putting content on Instagram because she’s the one fully in control of it. It’s like she’s still “performing” but she’s in control of the cloths, the music, the look, etc. Since she’s been a performer all of her life, I’m sure she still craves the high she gets from it, but now she just does it in her own unique way.
