Album Anniversary - Playlist: The Very Best Of Britney Spears

On November 6th, 20212, Britney released her 6th compilation album, Playlist: The Very Best Of Britney Spears. The album was released on Legacy Recordings. 
 

The album peaked at number 111 on the Billboard charts and sold 11,000 copies in its opening week. As of 2020, the album has sold 170,000 units in the United States. 
 

 

 

Do yall remember buying this album? I have this in my collection. I actually enjoy the booklet and what they say about Britney in it.

The released this really at the last time people would make the effort to go out and buy CDs. A cash grab for sure. Labels can’t do this anymore. Cute artwork though. Wonder why it was released on Legacy Records?

Yes they are fun to listen to. I like the way they pick the tracklisting. It does feel like some thought goes into it, or maybe that’s just me.

I actually bought my digital copy on Google Play Music years back, but lost it when the service was discontinued. It doesn’t bother me though, since they were literally the same songs from her albums. I only purchased it because it was on sale for like $6.99, & because the cover art was cute.

I never bought this. I remember buying Oops I Did It Again: The Best Of which came out the same year but it had such a random tracklisting compared to this.

I never bought this album but I love the cover art, that picture is so cute. The tracklist is good but I don't like that Sometimes, Overprotected, Lucky and Everytime are missing.

Cute and fun, but I've always stuck with My Prerogative and The Singles Collection when it comes to Brit compilations.

They made this for other artists too it's like a official spotify playlist to promote before spotify become mainstream 

 

I have this and "Oops I Did It Again: The Best Of" ripped as FLAC and the songs on them have a different mastering (dynamic range) compared to the album versions

Yes it may be random but it's useful because they actually fixed the mastering on the songs to give them little bit better dynamic range and they fixed the fade-out problem on the "Don't Hang Up"

Yes it's unnoticeable if you don't have a great headphone but the original version is never fading out completely and you can still hear the song that's what they fixed it on the compilation version

Yeah and it’s not on Apple Music either. I guess they feel like it’s pointless to have it since they have her other compilations on there.
