Marina Diamandis: The Appreciation Thread

I think she's such an interesting artist with a nice contralto voice and good and smart lyrics. Every now and then I come back to her music and I feel amazed. Do you like her?

 

I picked my favorites from each era, here we go...

 

1. "I Am Not a Robot" from The Family Jewels era

 

or "Oh no!" from the same era:

 

2. "How to be a heartbreaker" from the Electra Heart era (I think this was the first one that I heard of hers)

 

3. "Happy" from the Froot era (this one I started to apprectiate only now)

 

or  "I'm a Ruin" from the same era

 

4. "To Be Human" from the Love + Fear era (I really like the message and the video with it)

 

5. "Free Woman" from the Ancient Dreams On a Moderland era (this makes me think of the Free Britney movement)

Robot, Prima Donna Girl, Hollywood, Oh No!, The State of Dreaming, Power & Control, Handmade Heaven - all amazing songs.

And she’s Welsh, there’s no better nationality.

I was obsessed with Froot it was such an amazing album but I haven’t really connected to her music since.

I'm a big fan 

Only Love & Fear (album) was a flop.

She writes her own songs, which is really impressive.

Her latest album is all her writing work, no collabs. That is really rare in the pop world
