Why do certain “fans” say Britney didn’t write her memoir?

With all due respect, you’re trying to use my quick & honest opinion over a song of hers to validate your own perspective — which isn’t very reasonable, & quite selfish, if you ask me.

No, I think you just realized your own hypocrisy and you’re not sure how to respond.

You can’t pass an opinion yourself on something of hers, while simultaneously calling people out for having a difference of opinion on her book.

You’ve creative a narrative in your mind, bc you misinterpreted the topic, & that’s not my weight to hold. You voiced your opinion, & I thank you for that, but stop trying to win a fake argument that you created. :begone_tiffany_miss_ny_new_york_ms_door_there_leave_bye_goodbye:

I understand that Britney collaborated with a ghostwriter to materialize her memoir, which isn’t uncommon when creating a book, but I’ve seen a few people completely discredit her input, as if she had absolutely no involvement. Do they realize how tough it must’ve been for her to discuss her past, & her traumas? She had no obligation to share her story, but chose to reveal her vulnerabilities with the world.

It’s not always a simple task to be an open book with just one person, let alone millions of others — & she’s only human, so she likely required some guidance in polishing the writing, to properly get her points across. Regardless, I greatly admire her for being bravely personal, & her memoir serves as a testament to her strength, & resilience.

I think The Woman In Me was a magnificent read, & I’m not surprised it topped the New York Times best sellers list, during its first week of release. Plus, we know it earned her over a dozen millions, for simply speaking her truth. Pretty legendary, if you ask me. So, to those who imply that she didn’t partake in her memoir’s development, I’d like to see you try & write, or even sell just one book.

Share your thoughts, if you’d like.

If I'm not wrong, when writing memoirs, a person sits with a writer to whom s/he tells everything, and it's all about cooperation the whole time. At the same time - it is more than clear that the hand of the writer is also there - I doubt that Britney will remember WHEN she released something what and how high it was in charts, right? And last but not least, there is proofreading (d̶u̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶w̶h̶i̶c̶h̶ ̶a̶p̶p̶r̶o̶x̶i̶m̶a̶t̶e̶l̶y̶ ̶3̶0̶%̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶b̶o̶o̶k̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶g̶o̶n̶e̶ ̶f̶r̶o̶m̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶f̶i̶n̶a̶l̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶m̶).

Oh the irony...

YOU created a thread INVITING CRITICISM by asking people why they think she didn't write her book and now you want to get defensive because you got the responses you expected.

You: Why do certain “fans” say Britney didn’t write her memoir?

Also You: Stop trying to win a fake argument that you created.

We're replying to YOUR THREAD...goodness the lack of self awareness is astonishing. Once again you're proving my point. People (such as you), want to put themselves out there but then want to get defensive when people have something to say about the very thing they are putting out there for people to consume. :katyclown_makeup_mess_pie_meme_smile:

Oh my gosh, get over it already. Go touch grass or something.

Whoever described it as The Cade In Me is accurate.

It Was Me Sport GIF by UFC

Some people think the fact Britney "talked" (probably through emails, we know how it works with her nowadays, Cadeney) to the ghostwriters it means she had such a big involvement lmfao.

I totally agree that you can literally find pieces of the book online, from old interviews, Wikipedia, old tabloids. Literally any fan could be the writer of the book and one of them is a stan, Lansky.

I mean, good for them the book was a success, but it is one of the most desingenuous projects her team ever released. I do think Britney provided some things (the abor**on story, her take on 2007 events), but not enough to actually write a book... a book she already regretted of certain things were in it, a book she didn't bother to promote.

It's a label/brand book, with almost nothing dragging the label (every Britney fan knows the amount of problems she had with them) and praising key players of her c-ship,  like her former manager.

Well, at least it was fun the viral memes about Timberlake fake accent lol.

I wish the book was longer/talked about more topics. I enjoyed the read, whatever the situation behind the scenes were. Hopefully we get more with a volume 2.

I understand some of these pov’s, but some of you guys are in fact discrediting the potential fact that her own writing must’ve served as foundation for the book. Some of you guys have a tendency to undermine her abilities, in my opinion.

Not abilities, her willingness. Britney is the opposite of a maximalist, she puts the absolute minimum into her work, so it feels like the book is 10% Britney, the rest is from IG posts, old interviews, and Wikipedia.

Well expect most celebs who publish a book don’t “write” it per se. There’s always a ghost writer involved. But she definitely was the brains behind the story and what was spoken about in the book.
