Why Do You Think There Was No Circus Tour DVD?

I have a theory.... I believe whatever force was/ is behind her, they saved it for when she died. So they can make money out of her death, like she said they were trying to kill her allegedly. She's a legend, like MJ and Madonna . It's just my thought. Maybe I am crazy but that's what I always thought about this. They will release it when it's best for them to do so and make a lot of money out of fans. Sorry I don't mean to be negative.

Lol you just described femme fatale tour and unfortunately we have a dvd for that messy tour. Circus was a great show and she had energy and fun (especially on European and 2nd USA leg) the last time that she moved her body like BRITNEY SPEARS!

her circus tour appearance in berlin was lackluster. the whole tour designed to cover her flaws. while for the ff tour she was on fire in cologne. all i have to say

Despite some theories, truth is there was a copyright issue with the screens usage. The plan was to release the tour in 3D in theaters between 2009 and 2010 but the tour organizer, her team and her label got entangled in a legal dispute with copyrights and license agreements. I remember talking to one of the tour organizers many years ago and he confirmed her team had to pay a lot of money to solve it which they did not think would be worth the effort. :yaknow_britney_xfactor_X_factor_talk_tell_chat_you_know:

Having said that, the tour is professionally recorded but has not seen the light of day. I hope someday someone leaks it :yesplease_yas_agree_preach:

I’m so confused about the screen usage?

I need to know how they did the part where they put her in a box and cut the box up and move parts but she's still there singing

Wasn't it because of the 360 stage screen thing that had legal issues? I remember reading about it back then and even a few years ago with the official documents. (But i'm too lazy to search and share the post or link 🥴)

According to ChatGPT:

There isn't a wealth of information specifically addressing the absence of a DVD for Britney Spears' Circus tour, but there are a few relevant points:

  1. Live Performances: The Circus tour was indeed filmed, and there were expectations of a DVD release. Reports from the time indicated that performances, particularly from the tour's opening night in New Orleans on March 3, 2009, were recorded. However, despite the footage being available, the DVD never materialized, leading to speculation about various reasons behind the decision .

  2. Potential Licensing Issues: Some fans and industry observers speculated that the absence of a DVD could be linked to licensing agreements, particularly regarding the use of the 360° screen. This uncertainty might have influenced Britney's management's decision to forgo a release.

  3. Industry Trends: At the time, there was a notable trend in the music industry regarding live recordings and DVD releases, with many artists opting to focus on streaming and digital formats instead. This shift could also have played a role in the decision not to release a DVD for the Circus tour.

  4. Lack of Official Statements: There have been no official statements from Britney Spears or her management explaining why the DVD was never released, which contributes to ongoing speculation among fans.

Opening night wasn’t recorded. Nothing was recorded. It was scheduled for vegas and then pulled last minute. Only footage in existence is rehearsals, New Orleans and Atlanta First Leg, Copenhagen, all USA 2nd leg and Australia dates, all of this is just IMAG from Jumbotrons but absolutely no official footage exists.

The 360 screens were the issue, this flagged up during the tour when the yahoo video came out, had they had posted the Copenhagen opening it may have went unnoticed and carried through with filming the Vegas show. The court case settled in 2018:
