Searching for information in Billboard magazines in the Google books section, I saw Britney's promotional photo for the VMAs '00 and I didn't remember the entire photo or that it was a series with other artists (NSYNC, Lil' Kim, Jay-Z, Rock bands...)

That stomach is Britney's and is the piercing she had at that time. What happens with these photos is that the lights cast shadows on her (look at the kids) and she was thin in 2000.

The original is the one that you liked above with the signature on it, I guess I never noticed LaChapelle just made a composition of both pictures for the final promo

If you notice on the composite, not only is her face slightly bigger and weirdly cut along her jaw but also a different tone compared to the rest of her body

Same thing happened with the Greatest Hits album cover, that's just how fashion editorials were back then

The body is the same and the face is different you right, but the face looks better in the signature one, so why they do that...

(Edit: so this is the real (someone edited putting more light) she looks so good the make up looks similiar to the event ('00s VMAs)).

And i never know that of the Greatest Hits album cover photo, the only thing that always found rare of that one is one of the legs.

One thing you need to know about this kind of LaChapelle pieces, is that they can involve heavy editing

The photo of the NYC hot dog cart was used for a printed post card that was mailed out for VMA promo. I don't know who they were mailed to, but you could buy them on ebay because people were reselling them. I used to own one back in the day!
