What “Missed” Opportunity Do You Wish Britney Would’ve Taken?

Because Johnny Wright managed both of them at that time. Would've been kinda hard for him to do his job if both of his biggest clients started cannibalizing each other in the media. So he sided with the one that was on the rise and needed the support over the one that was already established, assuming Britney would be able to bounce back. Which she did. In the media. Eventually. Not in her personal life, though. Hell, in For The Record and in The Woman In Me, it's clear that is truly the point in which everything started spiraling for her.

And to this day, I still maintain Johnny was the best manager she ever had. He was with her throughout her entire prime. The second he left and Larry replaced him with Adam? Two amazing albums with **** promotion. And when Adam left to manage Miley Cyrus on his own? Well... Britney Jean's entire existence speaks for itself, as does Glory's belly flop through the charts despite critical and fan reception being at an all-time high. (Blackout was a special case, it promoted itself because of her life at the time, even without any managers putting in the work for her.)

If she did a video or some promo performances for My Only Wish This Year or did something for an anniversary it could be a Christmas classic with huge streaming numbers. Mariah could be the queen of Christmas and Britney could be the princess.

Mostly I think they messed up rushing the first three albums + the movie when it should’ve been a slower progression to allow fully fleshed eras and more rest time in between projects

This would’ve been wonderful, even just a proper music video, or a new version of the song, like Mariah did a few years back.

It was definitely a missed opportunity in the aspect of experiencing Britney performing in all her glory. However, it could technically still happen. It may seem impossible right now, but her outlook/ inspiration can change over time. 🤞🏻

beeing live on stage with madonna last year, with elton john 2 years ago

“Breathe On Me” & “Touch of My Hand” would’ve evolved her visuals, in my opinion.

Also, “Tell Me What Your Sippin’ On” as a single was a missed opportunity.

Joining Madonna & Elton on stage, even just for 3 minutes would’ve been iconic. Especially, for “Hold Me Closer” at Elton’s farewell concert. They’ve always shown support for her throughout her career, in one way or another, & it would’ve been a wholesome way to show gratitude.

However, Britney has other things that occupy her mind, most of which are not our business, but she has her reasons to abstain from doing any of those things.
 

Still frustrates me though, just a bit.

Glory being a much longer era. But I do think RCA are to blame for that and not so much Britney. I also do wish Britney Jean had at least one more single even if most of us hate the album (preferably Alien).

Glory definitely deserved more single/promo, but I think at the time they were just pushing the residency as much as they could, imo.

 

”Alien” had potential, in comparison to the rest. However, the vocal production could've been better formulated, & less auto-tuned. Perhaps a few more studio sessions would’ve helped make it “good.” 
 

Overall, valid missed opportunities, for sure.

It was about money! You gotta remember Britney was founded by Lou pearlman originally in the group innocence, no big documentary had made the connection that Britney is also apart of the Lou Perlman con. Larry Rudolph was Lou Perlman best friend and basically sent him to Britney when she decided to go solo..

**NSYNC and Backstreet Boys were also very overworked too but they broke free. They were men too! Britney the lone female in this mess got lost in all of it before she realized what was happening
