What “Missed” Opportunity Do You Wish Britney Would’ve Taken?

I would have liked to have seen her in the notebook. I bet she and Ryan had good chemistry 🔥

I think if she had lost the tan and had her hair curled and a bit darker, she woulda looked the part and beaten Rachel.

maybe Brit and Ryan would have dated in real life too ❤️

I can’t picture The Notebook without Rachel McAdams, but it’s crazy to know Britney was considered as the protagonist, & that she even auditioned. It definitely counts as a missed opportunity, for sure.

Not doing the "Nobody Wants To Be Lonely" duet with Ricky Martin. To be fair to Britney, SHE wanted to do it. Her team and label thought she was too young (IIRC, she was 18, Ricky was 28), and rejected the song FOR HER, which then went to Christina Aguilera.

I could've had a duet between my two faves on one of my favorite songs in the middle of both of their peaks. I will forever mourn that song. :crying4_britney_crying_stages_tears_sad:

I’ve never heard of a Britney x Ricky Martin duet, so I can’t truly confirm if that’s a legit “missed” opportunity for her. However, a song with both of them would’ve been insane back in the day.

More party singles after scream&shout while staying out of public eye (not doing X factor, though I see why they did it because she received so much money)

the s&s hype was so hot but then it just went away in a flash due to X factor and the gp seeing her without a filter.

Perhaps staying out of the public eye at the time would’ve been more helpful than putting her to work —so in that sense, maybe that was the missed opportunity. You’re also right though, maybe some new music here & there would’ve been nice, but at her pace, for sure.

I'd have loved for her to keep Telephone. I think it fits her discography so  well.

I wish she would've come to South America with the Circus Tour instead of Femme Fatale, I think it damaged her image as a performer here quite a lot.

I wish she would've performed Work B in the desert or at least promote it somewhere or release the video at the same time as the single so it could've gone top 10.

I wish she would've released the lead single of glory during the BBMAs and I wish it was another song not Make Me, and if it was Make Me at least with it's original video.

Britney being featured on “Telephone,” as a third (main) on the bridge would’ve been like a “holy trinity” sort of moment. Missed opportunity.

The Femme Fatale tour not being cancelled, knowing she wasn’t in the headspace for it was a missed opportunity.

That ”Work B***h” desert performance was one of the ultimate missed opportunities from that era, & I don’t even like Britney Jean.

I didn’t mind “Make Me” as a first Glory single, but a different visual concept was a missed opportunity, & a VMA ‘16 Medley of the album was also a missed opportunity.

I don’t understand why her team responded to the break up and cry me a river the way they did. They should’ve had Britney come out swinging with female empowerment anthems like destiny child was doing.

instead they didn’t really have a response or do damage control to protect Britney. They left her for the wolves/ media.

looking back it’s crazy how they let him control the narrative and damage her career the way he did. after saying they had s.ex and then making her out to be a cheater the whole world came after her, it was the biggest blow her career took at the time. it ruined the image her team tried so hard to portray and they did not give a f.uck😭

I can't remember the source, it's been like a decade since I first found out about this, but... It's haunted me to this day.
