What “Missed” Opportunity Do You Wish Britney Would’ve Taken?

This may not necessarily be a missed opportunity on Britney’s end, but I do wish she would’ve partaken in the soundtrack for the Barbie movie. Perhaps, it’s the delicacy in her voice, or her style from back in the day that I tend to associate with the “doll” theme. Regardless, I think she would’ve been an amazing choice for the soundtrack.

 

What do you consider a “missed” opportunity that Britney should’ve welcomed?

Having a proper era for Glory.

The album sounded so fresh when it came out. She was confident and looking beautiful. She could easily have renewed her fanbase back them.

She was getting so involved with her music. I would have wanted more stuff like Mona Lisa, Rebellion, Everyday, Weakness, Someday, the Original Doll album... She was slowly writing more and more, and then they killed her passion. I feel like we were robbed of a great era with more personal music, more involvement, more live vocals etc..

Honestly her team missed out on soo much stuff it’s insane to think about. the dawson’s creek and buffy cameos, almost being a bond girl, outrageous as the theme song for catwoman, wasting too many good songs that could’ve been hit singles, the versace campaign (that ended up going yo xtinct mind you), the original tracklist for “Britney” (adding the songs from Crossroads was a huge miss, it should’ve been a separate album), a REAL documentary for the onyx hotel tour and not the mess that chaotic was, hosting the BMA 2006 (I can’t let it go), more movie roles, releasing a professional recording for the bomt and the circus tour, a proper era for Blackout and Glory…and I could keep going for hours 

Mostly I think they messed up rushing the first three albums + the movie when it should’ve been a slower progression to allow fully fleshed eras and more rest time in between projects

I agree, she could’ve released way more singles, & visuals. That said, she’s was glowing during 2016, so I understand why you’d consider it a missed opportunity.

I would have liked to have seen her in the notebook. I bet she and Ryan had good chemistry 🔥

I think if she had lost the tan and had her hair curled and a bit darker, she woulda looked the part and beaten Rachel.

She was definitely taking a more profound direction with her music. Vocally, sonically, & lyrically. Hence, “Original Doll” would’ve been massive, & the aforementioned songs were solid. Everything you said, I resonate with.

Idk who's idea it was to just quit promoting the album but its truly a shame that this amazing album didn't get the roll out it deserved.

Those are considerable missed opportunities —& sadly, I believe TCSBS movie will remain unreleased, or so it seems. From a fan’s perspective, you made some great points.

I agree with your pov, but keep in mind she wasn’t in full control of her decisions at the time, so the ballads as single/video choices were pretty much a low probability. Otherwise, that would’ve been beyond amazing. Also, the “Make Me” video is terrible, official & scrapped. The visuals just needed a softer concept, perhaps with a graceful dance routine. However, the Blackout tracks would’ve been great, & are very much a missed opportunity.

she also had the chill songs from Glory when it was so popular on the radio + Change Your Mind when Desapacito was a huge hit
