Thoughts On Britney’s BBMA ‘16 Performance

is everyone ignoring that she sung work b live? no backing track?

and that Slave and Toxic had pre-recorded + live vocals? HMM? :snooptoya_jackson_snooping_looking_magnifying_glass_glasses_search:

As a longtime Britney fan, I don’t think she was singing live, her vocals were more than likely pre-recorded —but it was great, as it made her performance slightly more substantial, imo.

It has its moments but honestly think the choreo is p stiff in it. She looked great, womanizer break, I love rock n roll, and toxic are the standouts. My issue is in between the dance breaks she’s very stiff.

I see what you mean, I felt a similar way about it. However, I think her performance turned out decently considering her circumstances at the time.

I think circus gma, bbma 16 were her best tv showings during the con. But I think gimme more baby and oops had better choreo than some of the songs included in the medley

Loved it then and love it now.

it was a great performance but also a great moment as a fan to watch and know she was nervous and know it was a big deal and she delivered.

It really was a decent performance —& it was beyond amazing to watch as a fan. To be honest, I actually didn’t mind that she included “BOM,” “TOMH,” & “ILR&R.”

Then again, to me it felt like a performance that was targeted more towards the fans, than for the general public. However, a greatest hits medley would’ve certainly been a stellar idea —& yes, she definitely delivered.

The best part about this performance is how loved she is, you can how see all these fellow celebrities LOVE to watch her do well. That alone makes it pretty special to me.

She also did great, of course. The beginning is a bit uncomfortable to watch cause you can just sense the anxiety, but other than that - it’s her true “comeback” performance.

I agree with everything you said, this was certainly one of her better moments —& yes, the audiences energy was so great. This performance alone knocks out many of her POM shows, imo.

The dance breaks in Womaniser and the Slave original choreo were highlights for me.

She looked like a Queen.
I am so proud of this performance.

I’m happy that when you go on YouTube, for new fans or GenZ, they will still be able to see this as her most recent high profile performance and be impressed. For sure it’s not VMA2001, but it’s definitely better than VMA2016.

Yes, I agree with you. This definitely goes down as one of her good performances, from a more “current” Britney perspective, & it was miles better than her VMA’s performance, for sure.

One of the best perfomances of her career, even without that personallity pre-2004. In fact her last 4 perfomances (this, 2016 Vmas and Work ***** and Toxic from 2018 New Year's) are her best perfomances since 2004. But is normal because that perfomances are un big stages and you can do more elements that in a more small stage, but also the actitud.

I saw the pictures at work in the break room, and they put a big smile on my face. I couldn't wait to be back home to see the performance. It was a beautiful moment for her and all of us. I wonder how it felt for Demi to see Britney shining like that.

There’s a video on twitter of her backstage after the performance and she’s surrounded by her dancers and they all start cheering and jumping up and down cus she did so well. It was so cute

she was so nervous in the beginning but really got confident after WB

Was this the first time she performed in front of her peers in a while? I don’t remember

Yes, her last time was with Rihanna and Nicki's performance during the FF era.

I really liked it, you can say she was stressed during Womanizer, but then she loosened up, it was beautiful to see. I don't like the introduction tho with the ugly red hat and the weird red jacket on her, she looks like a drag queen for me with this gesture, but the rest was perfect, better than vma 2016. :gelis_britney_candies_flirting_sexy:

They had Britney working with drag queen clothing designers like Marco Marco and drag queen choreographers that’s why it was completely insulting

the undisputed princess of pop spacer.png

Watching that live was amazing, I was so hyped I loved every minute of it! the dance break during womanizer made me scream lol

You can tell she really got a confidence boost with breathe on me, mother has taste🤭

I was not on exhale when it happened so I can’t believe people hated on it. Everyone I know loved it spacer.png

I really love when they listed her accomplishments…the only thing I didn’t appreciate is she wasn’t allowed to give a speech and wasn’t given her award on stage. They quickly rushed over the fact that she was given the artist of the millennium award. Beyoncé gave a long speech when she won her award.

I also think if I remember correctly they gave an even bigger award to Celine Dion who didn’t perform but was allowed to have a long speech about her dead husband…

billboard just used her for ratings

When womanizer break happened I really lost it! Those facial expressions! I knew Britney was on it. I just relaxed, my mouth opened wide and I let her do her thing while I was just a non worried fan.

Then she **** the guitar, she **** us with her eyes at that pole, slayed the slave  break like there was no tmw, did her backflip and gave her best smile, flow and that floor spinning for TOXIC.

LIKE HELLO!

Yes during womanizer she seems slightly stressed in the beginning and then when the dance break got to her hair flip part she really loosened up and smiled and you can see she felt confident!

There was a thread recently that had a video of young Britney saying performing was her therapy and you can truly see that she loves to dance and let loose!
